I just noticed a bud that looks like it's covered in a very fine and silky spider web, and the web looks like it has these little orange dots in it. The dots are probably smaller than 1mm x 1mm.
Anybody know what this might be?
I'll post a pic in a few minutes...

no pest strips from wally world, one per plant, put right underneath them, keep a fan blowing and circulating. it'll take about a week before they work, but they do and they will.
hope the best for you babe...

thanks so much sky.
I'm freaking out right now.
I noticed some buds that look pretty much encased in the silk... don't know how I didn't notice this till now...
I think all the stores where I can buy the pest strips are closed until the morning, is there anything I can do until then? I remember some people talking about spraying with water, is this legit?

I have a flood table, so I can't really put them underneath the plants. How would you suggest I put them? Hanging from strings in the middle of the plants?

well, after searching around a little online I just sprayed the undersides of the leaves that I could get to with water with a few drops of listerine, dish soap, and formula 409 mixed in.
:sadcrying:
This blows, I noticed at least ten more buds that were encapsulated in the silk.

409? I've never heard of spraying anything like that on a plant. That won't harm them? Enquiring minds need to know! :D

I wouldn't be putting any chemicals on flowering plants. Instead I've used a hose-type vacumn cleaner and sucked them little buggers along with their webs right off of the plants without harming the ladies and leaving no residue. It's easy with a little practice and about the only thing you have to watch out for is sucking a branch into the hose but a couple fingers used as a screen over the nozzle remedies that. Once done vacumning the plants clean be sure to spray some Black Flag, Raid or other insecticide into the vacumn to kill the mites before they escape and spread.
Good luck and be careful of what you put on your flowers...remember, they will end up in your body soon!

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'm gonna leave the no-pest strip up for a week or so and then take it down, because it's disgusting. After that, I'll try the vacuum method.

i recomend NOT using the vacuum; it won't kill them, and they will spread... six months from now, your whole house will be infested...:(

no, after you vaccum them spray a shitload of pesticide or something into the nozzle while its on (no need to worry its not your plants) and kill them mofos. then spray perfume in the end of it while its on, then vaccum your floor.
*optional* you can try to ignite the perfume after spraying it into nozzle, killing all.

sorry i didnt get to this earlier but i just joined today and have not been able to post, alright so im only on my first grow right now, so im not saying im the most knowledgable person about growing, but before i started growing a did research like crazy, i did not want to spend all the money to start and just end up with shit. So i searched through forums like these talked to people and went to the hydroponics places and asked questions with the manager that has been growing for 35 years. I heard of a bunch of different things that can help spider mites but he told me that NOTHING is better than floramite SC. It kills them, kills the eggs, and makes it so they never come back or if uve never gotten them you will never get them. He also told me that it does not hard ur plants at all. If in veg state you can totally soak the plants and leave them for a couple of hours. If in flowering state you can soak for the first 2 weeks, after that they say to put it on a qtip and rub on. yes i know this could take forever but isnt a couple hours out of ur day better than a whole crop ruined. but dont hold this info against me im just trying to help a fellow grower out because i would like the same if i ever got into something and didnt know what to do. I hope this info helps and sorry it was so long just wanted to be as clear as i could.
im so high i hope it all made sence. That Homer kush got me good....
