my roots look funny in my nft424. they are discoulered brown and i have had to empty the bottom tank twice in nine days. because there was floating and sinking gooey browny clulored stuff wat kept blocking the water pump as well. i have used nitrozym for the first time and read that this does discolour you roots. but my m8 has the same batch and his roots are big and white and look good. my roots look stunted to about a foot from one side to the other and look brown. my plants still look good and are in the 3rd week of 12/12 they are 6 foot and dont wilt or look wrong. it was arjans haze and they overgrew as it took 3 weeks of 12/12 till they stopped growing up, which is a nightmare. please is there any chemical wat will help if it is root rot or some thing like that? help quick please.

Hygrozyme and sensizym will help but it depends on how far along the root rot is. You can also try h202 at 3-5 ml per gallon(watch out, this will kill any organics you have in rez). What are your water temps. you want them to be around 65-68 F. Anything above 70 and your asking for trouble.

im pretty shure if you throw some hydrogen peroxide in your tub it should keep the roots white, ask garden knowm

Garden Knowm is on sabbatical. Try the h2o2. That should work. Cut off any dead roots. Clean it up as best as you can, insert h202 at a couple tsp per gallon, run and check often. OH, and keep the temps cool, but not too cool like BlazeIdo said. I also agree with him about the hydrozyme, if you wanna go that route.
Good luck. RastafarI.

I sure hope the GK makes it back eventually...there is definitely a void felt on this board.

Were you saying 65-68 to be to cool, or you saying just don'drop into low 60's? IMHO, I run 65F with a coolworks chiller and find it optimal. I'd put my rootbase in a pepsi challenge anyday. Couldnt be any whiter, firmer, or more robust. I use 5ml of h202 after each rez change in my initial mix. Other than that I do a rez change once a week disinfecting everything in a strong h202 water solution(Clean everything from probes to airstones to what you measure your nutes in ). Cleanliness, and keeping your water temps down are the key. Eliminate the problem before it has a chance to start. Only open your rez when needed to avoid debris from falling in and keep your grown room clean. Another bonus of keeping your rez cold is that more oxygen can be dissolved in cold temps. More oxy, more growth, better buds. Keep it cold, and sterile and the problems should eliminate themselves.

No, I was saying that you were right and NOT to drop much lower than that.
:) Sounds like your plants rock, man. Got a thread somewhere? Pics?
Thanks, be cool.
