Bubblers

Hey guys, i'm looking into buying a bubbler. I saw a few here:

What do you guys recommend? I'd like someone fairly small, and my price range is up to $100.

first question, are u over 18? and second like i would say that everyonedoesit.com is the most reliable site out there for this kind of shit (that i have seen) and i have ordered from there but i would say go into a headshop and although u might pay more, you can see and feel each piece and pick out the one that is for u. but make sure if u get it from a headshop that they are fairly priced and that they arent outragous.

Those are some nice pieces from that site and great prices too!

I sometimes wonder if the shops where I bought my pices are ripping me off.

I bought a sidecar bubbler last year sometime when I still lived in Alberta. I paid $95 for it (see picture below). That one compared to the ones I see on some sites are far more appealing.

I'm not saying I don't like my bubbler, but I see nicer ones out there for aoround the same cost.

and nochowder, i dig your sidecar(makes me sad all my glass cept for one little spoon got taken). i often wonder the same thing, but theres alot of thigns that contribute to a pieces price, apart form looks as im sure oyu know. Quality of the pyrex. Most of those bubblers are somehat"mass produced" often have a little bit thinner glass too.

a bubbler is basically a pipe with an extension under the bowl where you can fit water in order to make it bubble. it is basically like a pipe mixed with a bong or hookah.

I'm hitting up a head shop called Goodtimes in southern NH on Wednesday. See if they have anything.

Any advantage of having a sidecar bubbler over other ones?

A bubbler does the same thing for you that a bong does: it filters the smoke through water. Basically, a bubbler is just a spoon (or sometimes a sherlock) with a chamber under the bowl that is big enough to fill with water.

i personally think that sherlock bubblers and hammers look the coolest. i dont know if there is any advantage or disadvantage though.

Look at the picture of the bubbler I posted. :)

The bubble on the bottom is what you fill with water. In my picture, there is a shotgun/carb hole on the other side of the bubbler (not pictured), so you fill that up with water, and the bubble on the bottom of the pipe, fills up with water. There is a stem tube (not removable) that goes down from the top of the bowl, down into the bubble part. When you smoke, it goes through that water cooling the smoke. :)

It's pretty much a cross between a pipe and a bong. You can use it dry or with water, doesn't matter.

just my advice i perfer a nice sherlock to say a sidecarb/hammer. i like to see the bowl while im burning, so thats why i tend to like sherlocks but thats just me. ive hit some awesome hammers out there and usually hammers are a little cheaper i think. just make sure its inside out or atleast has some thicknes to it. nothing worse than buying a bubbler with thin glass. and once again its already been said but id say find a local shop so you can pick the glass up, inspect it, touch it, critisize it, put it up your mouth (dont slobber over it) and just get a feel for it before you put down the money for it. good luck man and let us know what you end up going for!
