"Even though the anandamide in chocolate helps to create feelings of elation, the effect is not the same as the THC in marijuana. THC reacts with receptors more widely dispersed in the brain and is present in much larger amounts. It would take twenty-five pounds of chocolate to achieve a similar high to that of marijuana" So eating chocolate is like being high :P but you would have to eat a hell of a lot to actually feel like your ripped. ANyone know a way to extract this "anandamide" from chocolate?

Honestly I'd probably get the sensation of being sick before I ever became high from chocolate. Just pass me the green leaves...I did have an experience once though when I was walking the halls of my school eating a Reeses and all of a sudden I felt like I usually feel when I'm starting to feel the high from weed. But it wasn't intense at all..didn't even compare to a strong buzz but it was weird since it happened right after I ate the thing lol.

Yes, theoretically, it is possible to get high off chocolate, but it has another effect in much lower doses that I doubt anyone would want...sick as hell. I think you get sick generally around 1 pound if I remember right. Then you puke up all the chocolate not yet absorbed, so though it's theoretically possible to get high off it, it is basically impossible. The same type of thing as dying from weed. It's theoretically possible, but it would take a hell of a lot more THC within the time of the effects than it is possible to smoke or even eat in that time period.

Chocolate does not interact with cannaboid receptors at all. It does, in fact, interact directly with the dopamine receptors (pleasure center), and is in this way similar to cocaine.

well if u think about it, most chocolate has milk in it. and milk makes u puke if u have to much, so its probably impossible

to extract anandamide you should find the boiling point
mix chocolate in a water solution
but the ratio would have to like little chocolate to a lot of water or like 40:60
then you evaporate the solution
and at the different temperatures you would move the tube
in which the liquid evaporates from to different containers...
so one would be water (100°C)
cocoa (what ever taht boiling point is)
anandamide (boiling point)
then all the other ingredients in chocolate
would have to have a chem set to work it
but thats the way i know how to separate chemicals
in liquid solutions
sounds like its not worth it, unless you had a day of nothing to do

Or you're stuck doing a project for Chemistry class, though personally I'd rather play around with seperating a dxm solution if I was stuck in need of a chemestry project, but I have to say that would be a good second. Hash may be in my list if it wasn't illegal and would get me arrested if done for chemestry class. lol :p

it doesnt get you "high" it releases chemical endorphins in your brain that make you happy...
And the feeling that produceds is often called a "high."

That's true. Chocolate is made from coca plants, and so is cocaine. :)

LMFAO... well... chocolate comes from cacao trees(Theobroma cacao), while the coca comes from coca plants(Erythroxylum coca). They are completly different and unrelated plants... only the name is similar.

I'm with you Coelho.... eat the chocolate while stoned. Or anytime for that matter.
The best chocolate I ever ate was in Oxacca MX. They mixed the cocoa beans, raw sugar, vanilla beans and optional coffee beans in a huge grinder. Yummmmmmmmm

damn that sounds good, i know that real chocolate tastes amazing, like if you've ever had a bite of unsweetened dark chocolate its not a pleasant taste at first but it can grow on you and ends up tasting very very good.
in fact i get those things of powdered baking chocolate then i mix with like 1 spoonful of milk so its a fudgy syrupy paste then add 1/2 the amount of chocolate i added...in sugar so 2 parts chocolate 1 part sugar then add milk to taste while stirring constantly. add a dash of salt at the end, stir well. maybe even add 2 or 3 ice cubes, garnish with a crazy straw.
