Sure if you can control the heat - How big a space are you talking? One of the problems I found with using those type of sockets (instead of individuals) is it is kind of difficult to position them all so they all get used efficiently. Since all plants have different shape and grow patterns, you may get some that are too tall, then you have to elevate the shorter ones with cd cases or something to get them close to the light. Should work fine for you though, grow on!
