At least until I'm 21. The best solution to me would be to decriminalize it. If Marijuana were made legal I think it would be worse quality and more expensive. Not to mention, since I'm underage it would be harder for me to get then it is is now. It's a fucking pain in the ass for me to simply just go get some blunt wraps or papers when I can buy Marijuana anywhere.
Does anyone else feel this way? If you don't I'm probably gonna take a lot of shit for this. lol
But seriously, legalizing it would make it worse than it is now. Don't LEgalize it, DEcriminalize it.

I don't think they should legalize it until lab rats are able to self admin themselves.

so becuase you're worried you may not be able to get your smoke when you (i assume) only like to smoke for the joy, you say keep it illegal to even those who need it for medical purposes???
sounds kinda selfish to me...
anyways, even if i was only 14 (a year after i started smoking and realized i was never going to stop) i would still want it to be legal... cuz when you hit 18.... the conseqeunces for having it fucking sky rocket....

I think it would depend how the government went about it. I imagine you would have to get a special permit to grow it. Prices would have to be able to compete with the black market, if they can't sell it for the same price or cheaper or if the quality weren't as good, people would continue to go to their dealers.
I will take what I can get on this matter. So long as I'm not considered a criminal anymore.
Oh and the age to use it would be 21 in the states and equivelant to the drinking age in other coutries.

Dude, that's such a selfish thought.
Think about all those who grow and deal, i.e. the suppliers that are necessary for the market. Felony convictions and jail time can really hurt someone's life.
Think about the uses of cannabis (hemp) for textiles, paper and seeds.
Think about the gangs and destruction of public land.
Think about the people that get ripped off or robbed.
And the quality would not be worse. It would be a lot cheaper too. If people want high quality then there will be a market for it.

Think about the pricing this way.....a pack of smokes is about $3.50 and that's including a HUGE tax. I hope they do legalize weed.......
Another thing is this, when your an adult your talking about $2,500 lawyers and all the b.s. if ya get busted.
Have a good one!
The only people who have a real reason to want it illegal are full time dealers. Not kid's who worry about finding someone to buy it for them. You know how easy it is to get cigarettes as a kid? It will be the same for weed.

Well in England its practically decriminalised anyway... you can walk past a copper with a joint burning in yer hand and he wont bat an eyelid unless youre around children. Ive told this story many times on cann.com, but I like it so Ill tell it again.
I was once in a park with a couple of mates smoking a blunt, and a copper was standing downwind of us about 15 metres away. He just stood at the park gate, watching us (probably making sure we werent vandalising or causing trouble). He stood there until we had finished, and we walked past him on the way out. All he said was 'alright lads' then he walked off in the opposite direction.
Cops really dont care about weed in this country, as long as you arent causing trouble whilst smoking it (or are visibly young).
Viva la England!!!

It was $3.50 until Texas raped us with tobacco tax. Five dollar cigarettes don't taste so sweet.

Well for everyone who's talking about penalties that's why I said it should be decriminalized. For medical purposes, that would be different, like California.

i agree, the quality wouldn't go down the shithole... if anything one company would be competing with another for the highest quality, in which we would probably see super strong ass shit we can't even imagine now... billions and billions spent by a company just to find a way to make it even stronger, so their product sells faster and better then all th eones on the market now...
marketing is nothing more than a giant game of leap frog.... just look at all the diffrent types and strengths of alcohol we have.... we have everythign from drink a 12 pack and you'll still be only buzzed, to drinkt he same equivelant (in fluid ozs) and you'll be in the hospital and probably die...
at some point someone went "hmm... this shit isn't strong enough! i want something i can pour in my gas tank and make my fucking car run!" and then everclear was born....
lol.... to think the companies would start mass producing pure shit, is just stupid (literally).. maybe at the very begining there wouldn't be a whole lot of good stuff to choose from.. but eventually some company would step up and say "i want a product that fucking puts everyone else out of the market.."

i agree in that it shouldnt become legalized, decriminalized yes, legal no. NOT for the same reasons as 420. i dont even smoke weed so availability to me is not an issue.

lmfao... when the new tax hit (i was around and smoking when the one before this one went in affect... infact, i had just started being let by my grandparents to smoke when this new tax went into effect and brought marlboros up from like a dollar something-2 dollars all the way up to over 3 bucks...) i was like FUUUUUUUUUUCK... cuz at the time i had been smoking the cheapest shit on the market (these cigarettes are only sold in texas and flordia literally, so you might of heard of them... they're called golden beach...) anyways... my used to be 1.50 (including tax) packs of cigarettes, went up to over 3 damn dollars... FUCKING 3 DOLLARS! the price marlboro's used to charge..

I sooooo agree. I know what your going through but think of all the people who would be out of jail, families united and a better since of smoke because you can grow it your self.
Think of the greater good.

If it were made legal tomorrow, would people in jail right now for possesion be released? I never thought about that. They still commited a crime at the time they were caught. But tomorrow what they did would no longer be illigal.
slipknotpsycho
02-17-2007, 02:25 AM
knowing the state, hell no they wouldn't be released.. that's alot of money to be losing....
then of course you always have plea bargains, people who are in jail for many things, all of which besides weed would still be illegal, but because their lawyer is so good... they only had to plea guilty to the marijaua counts...

Yes that is one way of looking at it.Seriously they would be set free, any crime committed after a new law is passed is automatically null and void. Pending other actions of course.:pimp:

I don't degree. You can't put a law on a plant. If you're worried about quality then you should grow your own. I mean hell if it's made legal then that would mean that there should be a certain amount of plants that you could legally own. I also wouldn't worry about age because if it were made legal tomorrow there still would be drug dealers and I'm pretty sure you'd eventually get a few seeds and you could grow them regardless of you age :p. Make it legal, grow your own, be happy :stoned:.

If they leagleized it and sold it at 60 for a 1/4 and taxed it at 50% the could make boo-koo bucks in tax revenue all they would need to do is make a prison sentence very stiff and federally mandatory if caught dealing in the street. say 20 years behind bars.
this would free up alot of prisons and jails like petty posession charges. and leave room for real criminals like rapests and murdereres.
just an opinion.

wrong. They need to legalize it so that it isn't sold by violent criminals...Put it in stores and have the states grow their own. It'll be better than anything you can find on the streets, and will be much cheaper than the street price. Then it would be a better message..wait until you're eighteen to smoke marijuana kids...it's not for young people. Instead of..if you smoke marijuana you will ruin your life instantly and you will die because of it. I don't want my kids being able to buy marijuana from a fucking drug dealer...I want him to be able to buy it from a store, whenever he's an adult.
The main expense of flowers is going to be the taxes on them, not the actual price. How much does it cost to grow tons of plants in let's say..a field?
You can continue to want to be able to be thrown in jail for a couple of years for having that ounce in your pocket...and maybe even accused of being a mindless drug dealer with intent to distribute...But I would rather be seen as a responsible smoker that is a non-violent productive member of society. Not a criminal.
The government says it's okay to smoke cigarettes..which kill nearly half a MILLION people every year...but when it comes to marijuana..it's a no go. Marijuana is too dangerous. WTF? I don't want my children to one day be an alcoholic who excessively drinks and beats his wife, or addicted to cigarettes and possibly die from cancer because he thought marijuana was too dangerous for him. The laws don't correlate with the reality of marijuana...It's non-toxic, and is not a risk to the user or the people that are around it. :stoned:

That's not what I mean, I just don't want the sale of marijuana to be regulated and for the cops to let you do it anyways with a minimal penalty for possession
