Will I gain any growth out of using an HPS in vegetative growth?

oh yeah, i used a hps for my entire grow except seedlings, now i use fluoro tubes they use alot less power.

I use an HPS 400 watt for veg and the only thing I can tell about it is that you are missing the blue out of the spectrum. I've used MH and HPS from start to finish. Not gonna say you will gain growth during veg,but it greatly helps when in flower mode!

i just use the HPS all the way, if kept close to the tops the plants wont stretch at all and grow very decently, then once flower comes youll see those bulbs really perform.

yeah, when i used my hps for veg it really would have helped to have the blue spec. but i dont really see to much more growth with the cool white fluoros. maybe the massive amounts of extra lumens the hps give accounts for the loss of blue spec. Mh would be optimal but i would never have good temps with an mh and hps in the room, depends on what you can do with your setup.

MY ROOM HAD TO HAVE AN A/C RUNNING 24/7 WHEN I RAN A 1000W MH.
I NOW RUN 24 26/100W CFL'S. NO HEAT ISSUE AT ALL.
AND NO SEEABLE DIFFERANCE YET IN THE GROWTH OF THE PLANTS. ALL SEEMS TO BE OK.

BEST OF LUCK
