I believe so.
But we call it disc golfing, or perhaps just disc in my local.
It's practically the official sport of blazers. You can always find a circle starting somewhere on the back hole behind the trees and over that one stream... you know?

Frisbe Golf!
Golf for people who suck at real golf, or who are too lazy to walk from the tee off to the green.
Yea, I've played it. It was pretty lame. Just a bunch of dudes hanging out at the park trying to throw a frisbee into a net. Like it said, it's ok if you're disabled or something, but it'll never hold a candle to real golf. There's nothing satisfying with throwing a frizbee, but whacking a golf ball for hundreds of yards just puts a smile on the face every time :D

There is a folf course just a couple of miles from my house. I had no idea the stoners were hanging out there, so I guess it's time to go give it a try.

Don't do it. It just makes smokers look bad trust me. The only time folf is cool is if you're disabled. The ignorant public is expecting a bunch of stoners to be too lazy to walk more than 30 feet without having to stop.
Unless I'm wrong, this is a game that was meant to appeal to the physically disabled folks. Everyone else should play an actual sport. It's not like real golf is all that demanding as it is. but you will have to walk a good bit.

Whoa Whoa there Benagain you ignorant fuck... First it sounds like you tried it and sucked and gave up and now bashing on it but that cool i dont care about that...folf is not for lazy people we have courses on the sides of cliffs and have to hike all 18 holes yeah sounds lazy to me when in golf you drive a cart from hole to hole carrying a bag of clubs...pretty lame...folf is cheap and fun if you dont like it dont do it i could care less

actually the way you said "woah woah woah there you ignorant fuck" leads me to believe you do care... or else you woulda just said something along the lines of "to each his own" instead of throwing around insults.

Actually, I think disc golf (we call it disc, I agree folf sounds stupid) requires more skill than regular golf.
There are about 4 course in my area (and loads of unoffical ones) and they cover quite a bit of area. Its not like you're just tossing a frisbee around. You're driving it 100 to 200 yards, usually through and around trees. Remember you're not using some floppy frisbee, you're using a much more stable and heavier disc... I actually carry 3 when I play to make different throws with. I'm a minimalist like that.
So you have to learn how to throw the disk to go straight, to curve, to cut S-turns... I know that's a step away from the classic "hit the ball with a club as hard as you can". But not all of us can afford 18 holes at the country club every weekend.

Ahahah, they got that here in San DIego at Balboa Park. Shit is awesome. I cant golf worth a dam but i can huck a disc. Then there are lots of trees to blaze when your not throwing. Plus everyone is either carrying a cooler w/beer or has a pipe intheir pocket.

I dunno if it necessarily requires more skill than golf, but it's alright. I'd do it, but I prefer disc football/soccer, which includes running and some contact.
Hey, Number 297, you better calm down and stop calling people "dumbass" and "ignorant fuck," or you'll be outta here with the quickness. That's not how we do things around here. Show a little respect. We're just talking about hobbies now. It's nothing to get all offended about. Smoke one. :baggy:

Well I thought about retracting what I said, but I think I'll stick to it.
I apologize for bashing your 'game'. If you enjoy it, then go for it. In my opinion though, only lazy people and 8 yr olds play it.
I'm still pretty sure I'm right about it being developed for the disabled/handicaped though.
The reason some people like it is because it's easy to master. No I don't suck at folf, I might not be as good as you are, but give me a couple of days to practice and I will be.
There's a reason why throwing a frisbee around never became popular.....it's easy to master.
Golf like other real sports takes a lot of time and discipline to get right. Practice and more practice. It's also a bit harder on the joints and muscles than throwing a peice of plastic.
Bottom line, enoy your game. Don't let me or anyone else take away from it. If it was that important to you, then nothing I say would make a difference anyway.
Have fun, f*ck the rest
Ohh....and golf isn't expensive. You can pickup a set of clubs at the flea market for under 20 bucks. A bucket of balls at the driving range is ususally around $2. That's all you need to get started :)

Benagain, I'm not lazy or disabled (maybe if i get some crypt) or hadicapped. I play soccer and football(6v6) passing league, i run in the morning, and lift weights. However i do enjoy a round or Folf, i call it frisbee golf, but WTF, who cares. The shit is fun and a good and cheap competition between buddys and yes its easy to be good, but master, i dont think so, II've seen talent. Try Hitting a 1.5' circle from 450 feet. I don't think so. Some of these guys are really good. I think it wierd to be so obsessed where they play it that much but meeeh. How wierd is hitting a little ball into a hole WTF is that. That requires little strength or agility, mabye some coordination, or moving your arm in a straight line, but theres no workout or anythin. And Golf is REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE. Dude get real, I'm 6'5" and i need a custom set of shafts or something cuz i cant use reg. size clubs. And, in San Diego, a round is gonna set up back $50, thats without the cart and beer, thats almost a minimum. Folf, 2.00 for the round , and 1.50 for the rental disc.
Yeah, just like you can steal a putter from the the put put golf.

Hey,like I said, don't let me keep you from having a good time :)
In fact don't let anyone keep you from enjoying it.
I realy have no right to bash the game. I never thought much of it, but I don't think of much most of the time so it's all good

Whatever man. I've never seen a disabled individual on a disc course but I don't doubt that they'd have fun doing so. Whether or not they'd be able to actually make it to any of the greens, I question. But having fun is where its at.
I never seem to see anyone on golf courses except old people. But maybe golf is just so mindbendingly complex that it takes a lifetime to master? yeah? Or maybe it's just a sport for people without athletic ability.
Greenfog had a good suggestion with frisbee soccer (ultimate?). But I'd rather just play soccer.

I play golf. I'm 25. All my friends play golf as well. You ususally see old people out there because they don't have a schedule. When you're married or have kids (or both), it's a bit more tricky to get out on the greens.
If you're going to do anything outside it's cool with me. Folf is still better than doing nothing. At least that's how I see it.
I guess I was bashing it because I've never seen anyone play it other than dirty hippies.
I'll say it again. I have no right to hold anything against the game and honestly hope that everyone can enjoy it. Just disregard anything I've said about it. I really hope I haven't tainted/ruined the experience for you.
