Well my membership to NORML expired. I want to donate again but I would like an organization that is a bit more active. NORML needs to start barking at congress instead of sideline commentary and "what ifs". So who is the "better" USA pro-marijuana group out there?

it's always been an "us and them" situation, there has always been a dividing line between those who blindly follow and those who truly cherish their freedoms. the MJ prohibition is one of those lines. to be willing to endure the penalties for crossing that line is to be willing to martyr yourself for the cause of regaining all of our lost freedoms.
MJ prohibition is merely a symptom of the much larger disease and curing the symptom will only forestall the inevitable progress of the disease. for the sake of comfort we have traded away our power, to feel safe in our little cubby holes we have locked ourselves in cages to become fat and stagnant shadows of what we could be. we attempt to reverse evolution and become the simple herd animals we come from.
save your money. while groups like norml and mpp waste their resources trying to mainstream or harmless herb, the real war is being lost behind our backs.
disclaimer:
these organizations have done worthwhile things in the areas of medical marijuana and dispelling the lies regarding weed and though i don't agree with them on many levels i do respect their devotion and accomplishments.

For me it is more than just being labeled a criminal for using pot. I want to meet other people (in person, not online) who share the same beliefs about pot and personal freedom.
Sometimes I feel like I'm alone, surrounded by closed minded "sheep".
I imagine a better life for all of us.
BTW thank goodness for this site and others like it, without it I don't want to think where I would be. :)

I don't know all the pros and cons of each, but MPP sends frequent alerts that enable me to write to politicians whenever relevant legislation is pending. It does seem like NORMAL has lanquished somewhat, though that might not be the fault of the organization. I would say that any organization that promotes cannabis awareness and legalization is okay by me:thumbsup: I just wish it wasn't so dangerous to be active.
