Ok i recently came across something on the net called holophonic sounds. And it's like 3 dimensional sounds or some shit. Some guy created it, and it makes shit seem like its all around you, sound comes from side to side and up and down. It's trippy to say the least. Well here are some clips that you can listen to and see for yourself.
Just remember you HAVE to wear head phones or you won't get the full effects.

To have true holographic sound, the source must be recorded that way in the beginning. The recording engineer puts microphones on a dummy head's ears. The only way to really hear it the finished product properly is with headphones. You can't create holographic sound from normal stereo, surround sound, etc. - they are not the same thing, though similar in some ways.
A number of years ago there was an audio book, by Stephen King, called "The Mist", that was recorded holographically. It's very realistic.
BTW, this is an old technology, but many people enjoy it. There are also other holographic recordings available, some of which I own, but it never really caught on.

Stephen King's THE MIST is still available on CD and audio cassette in Binaural (AKA Holographic, 3D Sound, ect.) Sound.
It's a good horror story, as well, about a government experiment that goes wrong.
