They never show police chases on TV here. I heard in the States there's like, 5 a day going on.

Yeah, I've seen those shows, and ones like Worlds Scariest Police Chases, but those are just a compiled videos. I like the live stuff, where they can't edit anything out.

I have a Fox channe here, KAYU or soething like that. I think it's Fox, or maybe Spokane. I don't know, but I still get all of the presidential airings of Bush, on like, 15 different channels. :p

I get all L.A. stations and they will break into any show that is going on to show a chase. I like them too, cause you never know how they are going to end.

She stopped to call the cops on the car that was chasing her.(which WAS the cops of course)
I saw a Cops episode where that was exactly what the woman said to the cop when they finally got her stopped and out of the car."the news told us not to stop for ANYONE in a deserted area"This after she had led the cops on a 10-20 mile chase through both residential and commercial areas, mostly very well lit and not exactly what you would call "deserted" she claimed she thought the squadcar was a fake and that the cop was a rapist posing as a cop.Which actually happened 10 or 20 years ago.Serial rapist posing as a cop pulled over hot chicks in convertibles and then raped them as a fine for speeding I guess.

I saw a stupid stupid man on one of those Wildest Police Chase shows. They pulled a guy over for having no tailights, during the day. The cop starts to ask questions, and he could smell a strong odor of marijuana in the car. So the cop says, "I have this search warrent consent form giving us permission to search your vehicle. You don't have to sign it, but if you do, you are giving us permission to search the vehicle." So this guy is like, "yeah...uh huh, yeah sure, you can guys can take a look."

They search his vehicle, get to the trunk and find a garbage bag full of marijuana. They arrest him, and it had a mic. in the cop car, and the guy starts freaking out yelling, "OH MY GOD, WHAT'S HAPPENING!" just losing it.

The cop comes back and says, "did you say something" and in a calm voice, the guys says, "uh no, I'm just freakin out a bit."

In the end, the cop asked why he gave them permission to search, the guy said, "I didn't want it to look like I was hiding anything" :rolleyes:

Anyways, I'll never forget seeing that and thinking what a dumb idiot he is. :p

i've only ever seen one live shootout... this guy had a woman and her baby in the car with him, when the cops tried to pull him over for whatever and he took off... it was a long ass chase.. like over an hour, at the end, he smashed into the back of a pick up and the woman went flying out of the car, the car kinda drifted off the raod from there, and he fired a couple of shots at the cops (the baby was still in the car at this time mind you) and next thing you know you got like 10 guns going off and turning the car into swiss cheese... the woman and baby were pretty much unharmed (i'm sure flying out of the car going 80 or so and landing on the cement did something to her) and as the coverage on the news kept going, the cops put a white sheet over the car... he died in that car.

then there was this one low speed pursuit (sometimes he'd get the car up to 100+ but for the most part he was going like 30... down the freeway with a whole string of cop cars behind him... at this time the cops had a no pit policy, so all they could do was follow him.. and he knew it too) he'd get out and do the ghost riding antics you see... standing up on the car, hanging out the window throwing up signs, even jumping out of the car while it's still moving and dancing along side it.. i'm pretty sure eventualy he pulled into a parking lot and tried to run but got no farther then 30 feet before he was on the ground.

then there was another one (my favorite one..) where this guy was in a stolen car, he takes cops on a 45 min chase on the freeways, it ended when he was going down the wrong way on an on-ramp.... he managed to get by 2 cars, but the third one enver saw him coming, they collided head on (he was going atleast 60, and she wasn't going much slower) both cars were completely totalled, it even threw off a couple of wheels.... her husband saw the whole thing on tv too, she had her baby in the car as well...
