someone told me the batteries had to be changed and i did that but its still showing the same thing.
i turn it on and it doesnt say anything except OUR2. it could be OVR2 or something but i dont know whats wrong with it and google didnt come up with anything, so i figure i could turn here and ask all the smart kids : )

If you can't get an answer here I'd look up the company on google and shoot them and e-mail.
Have a good one!

When my scale rreads OVR, that means the maximum weight has been passed and it's too much for the scale to read.
So maybe you need to re-cab. the weight. You changed the batteries, and some scales require you to re-set the weight when they are removed. :)

slipknotpsycho- the one i have is the second link that you have up there
nochowder- i'd totally recalibrate it, except im not really sure as to how to do that. it ahs like three buttons, if i hold down the cal/mode one, it changes to CAL, and then it flashes, and then flashes 100.0.
so i did that as i was typing your response, and then it said fail. i've never left it on that long, and since it says 100.0 and not 1, i think im gonna go hunt down 100 nickels. and then we'll see how things go. : )
PS EVERYONE thank you for your replies!

ok yeah i can't find any users manual type thing on it...
but on that site they have them for sale for 15.00... so if you can't get it to recalibrate, could always get a new one i suppose?
"A US cent weighs exactly 2.5 g, while the nickel weighs exactly 5 g."
Commonly used metric system units, symbols, and prefixes (http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/common.html)
so you'd need 20 nickels for 100 grams...

Sounds like you dropped it or something and it thinks theres too much weight on it. Happend to 2 of mine just because they were in my backpack.

Recalibrate it. If you kept the instructions they ask you to place a 100g weight on it. A CD is equal to 100 grams.

I never thought of that. Good point. :)
Some scales are sensitive to damage, so if you dropped the scale or something really heavy fell on the platform, that can set it out of wack and ruin it.
Sorry I can't help, but didn't your scale come with a manual? I know mine didn't so I had to figure it out on my own. :)
