We were sitting in our room after just having finished our second bowl when we hear between 8-10 gunshots ring out. I don't know a lot about guns, but it sounded like a high caliber handgun. It didn't come from the woods because it was way to loud. The whole time I'm laying there scared shitless trying to judge where the hell they are coming from. I was waiting to hear one hit something, but they never did.

We than figured the best option was to dial 911. It generally takes 45 mins for cops to get to where we live, but when they have a report of shots fired, it still takes them a wopping 45 mins.

The whole time we were waiting we were paranoid as fuck, praying the cops wouldn't need to come inside. We sprayed a lot of ozium and smoked a few ciggs, but still weren't sure if the smell was gone.

All we could hope for was that they had recieved more calls about the shots so maybe they wouldn't feel the need to come to our house. Well I see two black and whites zoom past my house and they turn down the next street where their is one house... A meth house.

They went down the road, blacked out all their lights and sat there for a while. I'm not sure what the hell they were doing. We were sitting there waiting for a gun fight to break out. Nothing. We were waiting for a helicopter. Nothing. We were waiting for SWAT. Nothing.

All we know is that someone was firing shots off at the Meth House and the cops felt the need to cut their electricity. There was nothing on the news and a cop never stopped by our place. I'm kind of pissed if they went out with out a fight and I will be more pissed if the damn place is still up and running.

I want to know what happened! Were they shooting at a target or at somebody else.

Talk about an anticlimatic night. This also made me realize I need a handgun. The damn things are so expensive though.

I dont know, all I know is I didn't hear any more rucus. Granted the house is far enough from to where if they got arrested with out a fight I likely wouldn't have heard. Close enough to hear gun shots as if they are right out side my house, but not much else. All of South Louisiana is infested with crime right now. It's sad. I can't wait to move out of this hell hole.

I will do it legally when I get one only because I really believe I may have to one day use it. No point getting into more trouble because it is an illigal hand gun. I know gun shows are a lot cheaper, but I never seem to have the money when they are in town. Looking online, all I have really found has been for around 400 up. I will admit I haven't checked in a while though.

Guns aren't the problem. People who don't know how to properly use guns are the problem. If I ever do actually get a gun I will also get trained with that gun.

I would love if guns didn't exist, but as slip said, if someone is going to threaten you at gun point, it would be nice to have the option of an equal playing field. If people weren't so stupid and paid attention to what they were doing.

Chances are I will never get a gun. I feel more comfortable with a sword (I'm serious.) I almost think a sword would be a better option for me. Plus, a sword will never jam. :cool:

I will own a gun when I'm old enough to do it legally, but that would be a shotgun. I'm not big on handguns, cause seriously, a shotgun is MUCH more effective to deter home invasion. A handgun is a nice sidearm, but a shotgun works whether you are sleepy, stoned, have recieved some sort of trauma to the head, etc. cause you don't REALLY gotta aim that shit. The only things handguns are good for are concealing, accuracy, and firing multiple shots quickly. I'd just get a good semi-automatic shotgun. seriously, if someone is invading your home, accuracy is pretty unimportant. Chances are the distance you gotta shoot, if it comes down to it, is really short inside a house, and with a semi-auto shotgun, you can fill a hallway/small room with shot in a few seconds. I'd rather have that than a handgun

then again, if I have a shotgun pointed at another human being, I'd better have a couple gallons of adrenaline in my veins and be scared shitless, or else there is no way in hell I'd pull the trigger

i don't think you really would wanna shotgun for home invasion... to shoot someone with one could get extremely messy... and tear your walls lol..

not to mention shotguns are generally more dangerous, especially because of the fact it spreads out.. for example, if your gun was pointing down you could very easily shoot your foot, with a standard bullet, it's got far less chance of hitting you... then f course with a semi pistol, you know when it's empty, because the slide sticks back.. a shotgun, the only way you really know if it's empty is, a. count the shells (still leaves for human error tho) or b. you go to pull the trigger and there's no boom.

then of course there's always the fact it's longer, more dangerous in close encounters... act even a second too late, and that invader could grab that barrel, point it away from him as you fire off the first shell, then you're at a disadvantage. he could easily just push it into your face, chest ect from the barrel and grab it from you...

the only real good thing of having a shotgun over a pistol, would be the sound... everyone knows what a shotgun sounds like, and it's pretty damn intimidating. a pistol on the other hand, can be so quiet they'd never even know you have it... no intimidation means greater chance you'll have to use it.

ontop of all that.. if you miss 15 shots in the close range of a house, well lol you deserve what you get lmao... natural selection.. :wtf: you don't really gotta aim a pistol much either, cuz it'll be close range, point in the general direction, aim at the stomach (the gun will recoil, bring the barrel up a bit from where you were aiming, you aim for the head and there's a good chance you're gonna miss) and just open fire...

even if you didn't manage to hit him (trust me tho, you will atleast once, unless you're purposely trying to miss) he is NOT gonna stick around lol... more then likely, he's not even gonna be standing there after the first bullet, he's gonna be running away...

I suppose it's more preference, but the intimidation is the best reason to use a shotgun, cause again, I doubt there is anyway I would shoot a man unless something really drastic happens, or I've had intense military training.

i'd just like to take this time to mention if you break into a certain friends house, you're screwed.. lol... he gives his roomate his 9 to keep in his bedroom, he keeps a loaded 12 gauge with buckshot (there's two main types, bird and buck, buck is the big un's) there other room mate keeps his .45 under the pillows in the couch, they're all always loaded (not cocked, they still gotta chamber the first round, BUT the shotgun does keep on in the breach) and if all that fails... he's got a SKS in the closet with a clip loaded, so all he's gotta do is push the clip in, and he's got 15 7.62 rounds ready to go...

not to mention they've got buttloads of very high end paintball guns lol.. (and yes they do hurt like hell)

oh yeah, the .45 is loaded with very hot (powerful) hollow points, and the same goes for his .357.. i dunno where he's keeping that one tho.

Get an SKS for $140 its accurate to about 200 yards and its idiot proof what more can you ask for. Also theres alot of cheap AKs floating around. I love my guns. I have a Saiga 7.62x39 and a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54. But also drugs+ guns =felony charge. At least in Nebraska they do.
