hey ive just recently started smoking weed and before i started people would always tell me how when ur high u laugh at everything and find everything especially cool... but that dosnt seem to be the case for me. whenver i get baked i basically just feel dizzy and heavy, and everything gets exagerated... i dont really find anyhting overly funny. is this normal and do a lot of ppl get this too?

yes and no. When I'm high things aren't especially funny or cool, its just a different outlook on them. I do know what you mean be exaggerated, I used to get that all the time.
A lot of people do get the giggles though. Most people who smoke regularly tend to move past them after a little while. I've had one or two giggly sessions in my career, but thats about it. I have one friend who giggles inanely everytime he smokes. But he's also a total lightweight and smokes infrequently at best.

the dizziness and heaviness will subside more... but honestly all the weed does is like what poly said gives u a different outlook... I think that occasionally because you see the world differently while high certain things do become funnier (things u might not normally find funny ie: the movie Little Children) and other things might become less funny

Hi tina.Theres a whole load of contributing factors as to how each individual high will be for you.Believe me,you wont be feeling cool,laughing your arse off and eating the entire contents of the fridge everytime you blaze up.Weed aint just for making you laugh all the while.Maybe you are taking some real big hits during your early stages of tokin? But what you are experiencing is normal so dont worry.If you really find you aint enjoying it too much then i would just not bother,but dont let the experience put you off.Try smaller hits then work up as you feel more comfortable with it.Peace.Chris

weed effects everyone differently. I cant watch movies stoned, because i find them dull. I'd rather be outside. I get an odd effect from weed tho.

thanks for your replies guys, also one other thing.... i do feel relaxed when i blaze but my heart always ends up going at a rate 10 time faster than it usually does.... is tthat normal too when u first start smoking?

my heart does that sometimes too i have noticed, best thing to do is not freak out and just take deep breaths and just enjoy the high:thumbsup:

It just depends what state ur in mentally, and how long u've been smoking and how often u get stoned. when i first started getting high, i had that same heavy dizz/ tired feeling, and i wondered why everyone else acted the way they did. I also would feel to tired to get up so,etimes. Then eventually, i got used 2 it, and I started having happy/funny high's.

I feel like you do when I smoke swhag. All different weeds have a different high, taste and way about things. You need to try some other kinds of weed to get the full experience.

i came up with this theory that when you smoke, its your true character that comes out, so when your stoned, weather your a quite or a loud person, funny or laid back. this is what i believe is the persons real character, they dont usually act this way because there character is supressed by "reality"
Another point to add to this is that its nearly if not impossible to act as someone you arnt when your high.

your probably just a really laid back, chilled out cat.

Definitely when I was a rookie I would wonder why weed wasnt what I expected it to be.. but then after a while I stopped trying to classify my high and just ride it.. and I've had all types of high's n lows.. I mean I've laughed till I felt I was gonna suffocate and couldnt stop lol I've had interesting conversations with people. I have thought up theories about this life that have kinda strayed me from my original beliefs.. kinda scares me but I know it's all in my head.. to this day.. weed deffinitely was what I expected and much more. Try watching some show or something that you normally find funny anyways. I know with me things aren't just funny because I'm high, but things I find humorous anyways seem even funnier while high.

Well said. This is the reason I don't tend to smoke when I'm angry or sad; after blazing, the neg. emotion sometimes doesn't go away, because you're a purer example of yourself when high, and the sober emotions will spill over into stoned emotions. Besides that it builds character to deal with emotions soberly. UNless there's a chronic mental issue like trauma or clinical depression, then mj is a useful medicine.
