i was talking with a buddy and we were brain storming on growing method, so we talked about a few reasonable ideas.and im most curious about one that involved copper wire. so the way that we thought it would work was to get about 20 yds of copper wire, and strip the ends about 1 ft on one end and 2 ft the other. you take the 2ft strip coil it up kinda like a oven eye add alittle tornado look or something, anyways set the coil up in a window and mount it sturdy so that the sun hits. so we thought since copper is a good conductor it would absorb the suns energy not so much the rays or light but the energy it produces, and so we would take the 1ft stripped end and stick it diagnal in the soil. so what i want to know is if that energy would do anything for the plant or the roots/root system.

another ; same concept but with fiber optic wire, but that would be for the capture of light to the roots or grow chamber.

? what would the light do to, or for the roots.
? does copper put out any negitive chem. to effect the plant?

any input greatly accepted thank you.

copper is used only as a trace eliment for the plant your idea would produce a way to much and the green mineral that grows on copper that is exposed to water or air would be toxic to the plants.

Roots do not like light. Fiberoptics do not work that way either my friend.

Happy growing.

how about this? it can direct the sunlight to where ever needed. and it can be stealthy if done right.

would it be cheaper to buy a 400w hps system?

maybe but you wouldnt need to run it as much and you could have real sunlight running to the basement. :)

the instalation looked kinda difficult.

not to mention cloudy days, have fun installing it tho, looks a bit extravigant to me. Fiberoptics is the translation of information through light, not the capture and production, fiberoptics contains very very little light the size of a fiberoptic wire is the tip of a pen. And there pretty expenisive. Copper yeah i would have to say why fix something that aint broken, Your not going harvest energy from the sun using a copper wire, maybe some heat thats about it. Coppers oxidized properties(green Salts) are insoluble in water so it should have little effect on your plants, i hydro there shouldnt be a problem maybe soil if the roots grow around the copper, i use copper fittings on my tubs and np's

Tubular skylights are the cat's ass to brighten up say a kitchen or bath but aren't that practical for grow ops, as you can't control the sunlight the way you can control a lamp.
But my friend got one of those things for her dark and cave-like kitchen and it works amazingly.

I like it, growing with frequency. Should look into leds which do much of the same via the diode. I am putting in a frequency section in the organic chemistry thread very soon to better explain. For the most part the suns light is measured in nanometers. 360-720. This is the physics of the wave, its proportions and such. Copper wire runs a certain frequency of Hz or electrical through it do to the elements frequency. This is determined by its symmetry, density, and size of atomic circumference. To convert visable light spectrum nanometers to Hz it is a reversal. 360Hz to 720nm and 720Hz to 360nm. It will carry a frequency but you should really look into gasless led diodes. Wikipedia has great info. I will start a thread on how to build them if you are interested.

Copper is used as an insecticide as the plants can tolerate it more then the pests. Coppers is dangerous at high levels and is not something you would enjoy smoking.

you guys are crazy, if you want to use frequencies i would suggest using a sound device other then metal conductors, you would be able to control the levels much easier i would think.

I suggest learning how to grow period. Then, you won't have time for such foolishness.

forgive this but what the f*** is that? ahahahahaha.... ahahahaha.. holy sh** that looks like a giant penis that grows out of the ground and penetrated its way through the house and rising up. lol! i wouldnt break my house for that sh** i prefer using lights man. also, that would not get 12 hours of sunlight or even 6 the sun is only directly up in the sky for about 4-5 hours? and the rest of the day its tilted and the light wouldnt go all the way down maybe?
