T- 12 Light Question

Hey All,, Just picked up three T-12 complete light set ups from a friend for free and was wondering if they would be any good for Veg. they have 4 bulbs in the reflectors and all.. Can we put T-8 Lights in them or just able to use T-12 lights in them?? The ballasts inside has no writing on them to tell if they r t-8 or T-12 ballasts..
The lights with them has T-12 on the bulbs and we was going to use them for Veg.

The ballasts are bulb specific usally. If the T12 bulbs came with the ballast you cant use t8s. Check the lumens rating for different T12 bulbs and use the highest lumens possible.

I was perfectly happy vegging my plants under cool white t12 tubes until they were about 6 inches tall.

They make a daylight t-12's that have 6500k color....EcoLux they are called. I really liked them. If you already have the cool's use those though. B
