Firstly im making this all up because i have a mental disorder, all this is fictional and pics are downloaded from the net. All questions and such are for entertainment purposes only.

Hello all! :D
K guys who have been following my previous threads, this is my official grow log for my first ever grow using 10 Bubbelicious seeds from BuyDutchSeeds Seedbank :rastasmoke:

Im using a soiless mix and a 400w MH for veg, 400w HPS for flowering, have two grow rooms for a perpetual harvest

Heres my diary to date:

Grow Diary ā?? 10 Bubbelicious seeds
Week 1: Germination
--------------
Mon15/01 started germination using wet paper towel method (10 seeds)
Wed17/01 10 seeds germinated, planted them into little pots with soiless mix (1/3 peat moss, 1/3 Vermiculite& 1/3 Perlite) and put in the grow box (box with two 18w fluorescents), watered
Fri19/01 one seedling has breached the soil, watered
Sat20/01 all seedlings have breached the soil
Sun21/01 all seedlings growing, some better than others, watered

Week 2: Seedling
--------------
Mon22/01 two seedlings seemed to have died, perhaps because they were too far away from the light and stretched up to get closer, causing them to collapse, or they were un watered. Other 8 are fine, I put the pots three inches away from the fluorescent to prevent the last problem.
Tues23/01 8 healthy seedlings showing growth
Wed24/01 Seedlings doing great, watered
Fri26/01 One of the seedlings has brown down turned leaf tips, so I watered it with organic fertilizer, it turns out the problem was probably from over watering, letā??s hope I havenā??t dealt it a death blow
Sat27/01 Its fine =) they all looking good, watered

Week 3: Seedling
-----------------
Mon29/01 Placed all 8 seedlings 60cm under a 400w Metal Halide
Wed31/01 Moved MH to 30cm above plants, watered
Sat03/02 Watered with ¼ strength fert and raised lights to about 60cm, the temp was way to high on the digital thermometer, have a 250cfm fan pulling in fresh air from outside blowing onto the seedlings.
Sun04/02 Seems the ¼ fert did great, all plants looking big and healthy.

Week 4: Vegetative
-----------------
Tues06/02 Watered (1/4 fert), looking great
Thur08/02 Wow they looking great!! Lots of growth, true 3 fingered leaves!! Big fat indica blades, looking awesome!!
Sat10/02 Watered (no fert) babies looking good, moved 400w MH to 30cm above plants.

Ok so thats till today, and here are some pics of the babies =D
p.s sorry about the strange lines in the pics, something to do with the MH and my camera phone??

Nice one mate,

Im about 2 weeks behind you on my first grow,

Got few Kali mist, Arjan's Ultra haze No:1 and G13xHashplant

13 growing well in total.

Im using a 1000 watt metal halide but the heat its putting out seems to be stunting growth a LOT. Nowhere near as good as yours are doing just now.

02-11-2007, 06:21 PM
Thanks for the comments guys

Yo tony d,You have Arjen's Ultra Haze no1? thats awesome! didn't it win last years cannabis cup? I read on the greenhouse website it has one Psychadelic high!! Definitly gona watch your grow :rastasmoke:

Ive got a fan on my bulb blowing the hot air away and a fan blowing on the plants, that keeps the temp to bout 26 degrees celcius.

Here more pics

TonyD
02-11-2007, 08:11 PM
Yeah mate, I smoked it at this years cup, was a close run this year between Ultra haze No:1 and G13haze from barney's.

I got a massive fan in the room but temps still hold at about 32 degree's celcius with the door to the room wide open.

undertheinfluence
02-11-2007, 08:53 PM
plan to lst at all?

blank_21
02-12-2007, 04:12 PM
:( oooh 32 is high! i heard marijuana tolerates 21-29 degrees celcius, Do you have air being sucked in from outside? does air flow into the room? because if theres no airflow all a big fan will do is move the hot air around, not cool it down. My fan sucks air from outside keeping the room cool.

UTI i dont know how to lst?? whats the point of lst by the way? to keep the plants short?

blank_21
02-12-2007, 04:23 PM
Ahhh i see, is it difficult? this is my first grow, bubbelicious is a indica so it will be shortish anyway

undertheinfluence
02-13-2007, 03:56 AM
thats what i thought too man. i had some indica. and it sprouted up to my neck during flowering!

Ok so how does one lst?

blank_21
02-13-2007, 12:36 PM
Hey guys here are todays pics!

They looking good i think. They're about a month old from the day i germinated them

The 400w MH is about 50cm from the tops, temp staying steady at 26 degrees celcius, gets fresh air pumped from outside, pH 7, 1/4 nutes every 2-3 days.
Do you think its safe to go to 1/2 nutes?

10 weeks to harvest :D hopefully.......
Hmmmmm bubblegum buds :yippee:

hey man hows it going :P my plants are bigger :) were chill btw not competing may we both have best plants. im going to lst all my plants. its not to keep them short but what you do is you bend the stem little by little untill 90 degree angle and tie it for 2-2.5 weeks. what that does it it makes the small leaves on the stem get alot of light and grow big so you will have more colas when the plant is in flowering. its very very effective ive heard we will see :D ur plants look very good btw they are getting tall and filling up that space. mine are not growing upwards at all they have enourmous fan leaves and there streaching sideways lol they must be like pure indica or something hah:D

ive got quite alotta room so i probly wont need to lst

but could do it to try and improve yield...if you desired

blank_21

Ok that sounds good, better research how to lst, thanks for the advice :rastasmoke:

KL4D4
02-13-2007, 11:48 PM
The point of LST-ing is that the underside wont have much growth at all. All the branches that would have grown on the other side will now grow upwards. You need to get her to the point where shes completely doubled over, so that the bend is in fact slightly higher than what would have been the top of the plant.

JackdaWack
02-13-2007, 11:52 PM
just tie down the stem and make it grow kinda in cirlces, i actually just hand bend mine becuase i have alot of room, one plant in a space for six. I keep alot of light in the side of the plant so the bud sites all stick up eavenly, Ur plants are kinda small for once month in, u shouldnt have been giving them anything until this point. Look at the bottom leaves of each plant, if they are discolored then they have nute burn, which will stunt them. They look fine thou. Could be better, but im sure ur happy, i would be.

blank_21
02-15-2007, 02:09 PM
i doubt its nute burn, they were stunted until i gave them nutes,im using a soiless mix which had zero nutes, now every time i feed them they show huge growth!

canna-bliss
02-15-2007, 07:35 PM
with that much room you should do some lst. it makes the branches grow very quickly. have you considered topping a couple of them. that helps alot on yield as well

canna-bliss
02-15-2007, 07:38 PM
as far as for raising the nutes you can give them some and they dont respond well to it you can flush pretty easily since you are using a soiless medium

blank_21
02-16-2007, 09:42 AM
Yes canna im goin to top them
ive got lotsa room, the ceiling is 7 feet above the ground, i gave them 1/2 nutes and they responded great :D Those last pics i posted are a day after 1/2 nutes.
I'll post some more pics in about a week

I have just topped them using the FIM technique
How much longer should i keep them in Veg? I would like to flower in a week or two

whisky
02-19-2007, 06:40 PM
i donno why but in my mind ive always considered ur grow and mine like brothers :P there looking great and healthy man let them grow atleast another 2 weeks then post pics and we can see if it is time to flower or not cause if u flower too early the plant may not be ready to flower and itll just end up getting stressed or the girls will be small with small buds.. you can just wait another week or so to let them grow just a little more ( 3 week total ) to have it on the safe side and big juicy buds. also it wouldnt be worth waiting all this 4 months ( theres another 2 to wait while flowering ) just to get small buds that if u had waiten another week u could have gotten much bigger... btw when i read stuff i said i always notice it sounds like im pretending to be mr.cool know it all, please dont take my posts that way it would make me a sad panda :D my plants are doing well too i got one which is a stupid baby im waiting it to grow one just started to streach a little and the other two are like really short but freaking bushy man check out my photos on the thread those are just starting to strech upwards im also waiting and i would estimate about 3 weeks for me then ill see if to wait another week or not. keep it up :)

I just got back from sitting in my grow room, watching the babies :smokin:

Hey Tony D you gota start a grow log, wld love to see your plants! I want to see what a 1000w MH does :rastasmoke:

UTI yeah most my plants have 4 growth shoots from the FIM topping i gav them, it worked great! I topped one plant normally and it has two shoots, all the ones i topped using the FIM technique have at least 4 shoots :D

I also supercropped a couple growth shoots, we'll see what happens

Yeah i hope i get lotsa girls, im really regretting not buying feminised seeds, will defnitly do that next order.

Anyways thanks for the comments

hey, my guesses are that either your pots are too small, or your lights are too high or both. In my experience they should be a lil bigger by now, still lookin good though. Have your tried a fan under the light so you can put them closer? peace.

blank_21
02-25-2007, 10:31 AM
I have the light 30cm from the tops of the plants, i wouldn't put them any closer than that with my 400w MH, and i just transplanted to 25cm pots.
They were a bit stunted in the beginning. I wasn't fertilizing them properly, which will account for there smaller size.
I'm using a soilless mix with zero nutrients, which you have to fertilize a bit earlier i think, cause they only really started growing after there first feed, but they doing great now.

Hi Everyone

Its been 6 days since i posted pictures, as you can see they've grown a lot!
I think they ready to flower now, they all between 21-25cm tall and very bushy :D
What do you guys think? Should i flower?

Theres a picture of a a curling leaf, is this because of Heat?
Its about 28 degrees celcius in there, within tolerance but still too high.
Im getting another fan soon with a carbon filter which in conjunction with the fan i have will swop all the air in the room in 4 minutes, which shld bring temps down

These pics are taken with a Much Better camera, hope you like!

whisky
03-01-2007, 06:37 PM
hey:P! that leaf man i have the same prob with every plant i though it was ph and neutralized but its not maybe its heat but it doesnt do anything ive just let it be and plants are happy. make sure you perfectly attend their other demands and it wont cause you trouble.

now to my though about flowering. i think that if you do it now you will have a bunch of popcorn nugs. but if you can hold on a little more and let the stems make a few more nodes youll get those big arm sized ones. thats just my opinion maybe im totally wrong but im just comparing this to bud photos ive seen on plants. what ever you decide to do just wait a little more before doing it :) try to get photos in at least every 3 days so we can look and tell you when the time comes ;)

so far so greaT! keep it up

just another though before posting this.. im thinking the same thing about my plant the weird thing is it has lots of hairs and its not into flowering but yea the thing is this, if you do it now after 4 weeks you might notice that the buds are small pussy buds and theres no way to revert it so youll have to bear with it. but if you wait just another week or so you will get much bigger buds and it will be worth just another week cause you have 8 weeks anyhow why not let it be 9 for antoher 10 joints..

I didn't catch enough specifics on the soil depth when you were in the seedling phase. I'm pretty sure that is the time when plant gender is most vulnerable. It could have been the other issues that killed the two seedlings that is also responsible for undesired males, but the biggest factor I've seen in assigning sex is the soil depth immediately after germination. The tap root requires at least 5 vertical inches of soil underneath to preserve femininity.
A while ago I had 5 straight males emerge, which was especially infuriating since I only grow 4 mature plants at a time. Anyway, I made sure I had a ridiculous amount of depth under the seed from then on. Now I've had 8 straight females. Plus since the soil volume is so big I don't have to transplant until after female preflowers show.

blank_21
03-02-2007, 07:53 AM
Heya :D

Yeah MrGreenFingaz, the bigger pots got them growing fast! They must have been a bit root bound.

Hey burnable
The germinated seeds did have at least 5 inches underneath them, ive never heard of that theory though, we'll see how many females i get :)

After reading babystarbud's skywalker growlog i've decided to flower on day 50, which exactly what whisky thought i should do as he advised me to wait a week when i posted on day 43.

Babystarbuds skywalker grow had such HUGE tasty nugs, would like to try replicate that. If you read his grow and compare it to mine they seem to be very similar in terms of growth rate.

GreenFog: Thanks for posting man i love it when the veterans have good things to say! I'm not too worried about people not replying, it's just nice to have a online record of your endeavour if you know what i mean. But people stopping by is definitely nice!

All my plants are between 28 - 32 cm tall and very bushy, thanks to the FIM'ing i gave them. I have been suppercropping (squeezing the new growth shoots to thicken them) all my plants as well.

During Veg my plants where getting a 6-1-3 fert (with micro nutes)
For flowering the plants will get a 2-1-2 fert, i wish i could get something with lower N and more phosphorus but thats all they have in my area :(

Do you think this might be a problem???

It might turn out to be one. . . you always want Ph. during flowering, and it doesnt look good if the N is higher. . . never try to cut out N though, that always needs to stick around. . .go to Home Depot bro, their has to be one there. . .

Way to go!

I currently have 4 bubblelicious in my 12/12 box! Along with Purple Cheese, WW, Top44!!

All 4 strains are 14 days into flower today!

Anywho, just wanted to post a pic of my grow at 15 days in soil.... it took 48hrs to germ 35 seeds, then all went into soil on the same day.

Seems like these plants were growing so fast it was silly, when i compare similiar or same strains at say 30 days veg, it seems my plants are bigger!! what's the deal!! :)

have fun and happy growing!

Someone please answer this question!

Hi!

If you use a NPK formula that has more Nitrogen than Phosphorus in the flowering stage, the plant will continue producing leafy matter while it tries to produce buds at the same time! A good idea is to cut out as much Nitrogen as possible, but leave a bit....

If you dont have any stores in your area that carry nutrients, why not order them from ebay??

You can get some kickass Advanced Nutrients or Fox Farms organic BIG BLOOM fertilizer for CHEAP on ebay!

As a reference, if you veg'd with a nutrient formula of 20-20-20, you would want to flower with something like 10-30-30, or even 10-30-10, or 5-20-10

Anything with more phosphorus than nitrogen will help your buds look and smoke amazing!

Have fun!

7 out of my 8 plants are males, i just murdered the bastards now :(

I should have bought feminised seeds, oh well you live you learn.

My first grow turned out to be a hell of alot smaller than planned! No worries though!

My only remaining plant is looking good :D

Well, plenty of space for the one fem to spread out.

Thanks for the advice guys. Ive left her alone except for transplanting her into a 30cm pot, so she can grow as much as she wants

I still cant believe i got 7 males outa 8 plants. Man that bad luck!!! Should have got the feminised seeds!!!

I'll take clones tomorrow

Man, that really sucks about your female/male ratio. This is why I never understood why people flower their main plant to sex. I've always thought that it is best to clone the ones you plan to sex and flower the rooted clone to determine sex. Then when you find out you only have one female, it is still in veg and can be cloned to your heart's delight before you flower!

I know this doesn't help you now, but this is just a method that I see as necessary if you want to save time working from seed. You don't even need an elaborate set up for your test-clone flower room. Just a small rubbermaid box set up (like the one I have in the JOURNAL OF A MADMAN) and a couple of CFLs. This set up will only be there for about 14 days while you wait for balls or pistils, then can be packed up and put aside.

Well, man, maybe you could think about trying to cut a clone off of a side or bottom branch that might not get too much light anyway and revegging that. One or two clones shouldn't stress it too much and then you can reveg them and maybe have some more in there flowering right when you're done this one, or even before.

Be cool.

True dat, blank. Learning is the fruit of life, man. I love it.

Hey, have you read my thread before??

JOURNAL OF A MADMAN (http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/83858-journal-madman.html)

:D Just thought I'd link ya just in case you haven't seen 'em. You can see what I mean about the pre-sexing with clones. Look for the "BodomBox" or the "Rubbermaid Bloombox." I ended up leaving the clones to fully flower and got about 2 zips from 10 mini-plants. :) I don't suggest doing that, but it's fun to experiment sometimes. :D

I also have one going in the Grow Log section called:

JOURNAL OF A MADMAN - CAB OF LIFE (http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/95469-journal-madman-cab-life.html)

That one is being update now. :)

Hi Everyone!

Wow so i havn't posted since March 13! Thats 28 days ago :wtf:

Basically what happened is my motherboard decided its life was at a end, i took it back in and they promptly sent the damn thing overseas and im still waiting for a replacement :(

Luckily my best friend lent me his computer!

Nothing eventful has happened since i last posted, except the insect infestation i had which i posted in "plant problems". Luckily a little crop safe pesticide was all that was needed to clear up my girls little problem.

Basically all i've done since the last post is water my remaining female.

Anyways as you well know i ended up with one female outa eight plants!
She's doing great as you can see. :D

I must say bubblegum is a wonderful strain!!! I topped this plant which resulted in 4 Cola's , 2 Main cola's and 2 secondary cola's. They are densely covered in trichomes and the buds are hard and compact. :stoned:

The bubblegum smell doesnt linger in the air, maby because of my carbon filter, but if you touch a trichome covered leaf or gently squeeze a bud and smell your fingers......the delicious bubblegum smell is incredible! :)

Bubblegum is easy to grow, a beautiful plant, the smell is amazing!
I could'nt have chosen a better strain for my first grow.

There are only 3 weeks left till i harvest and i am extremely excited!

Well i couldnt have done it without purchasing top quality amsterdamn seeds and my lovely 400w HPS!

I cant imagine the buds i would grow with 6 1000w HPS's *queue drooling*

For your next grow you gota buy some seeds hey whisky, and try organise a MH and a HPS, or those T5 flouros.

Bubblegum flowers in 56 - 63 days, im on day 38!

So about two and a half weeks or a bit longer left!

Then i will finally sample my first taste of true amsterdam weed, no lying dealers:( , no let downs, just my homegrown bubblegum :rasta:

"For curing i am going to hang buds in a cool dark room for 24 - 48 hours, or until the surface of buds are dry, then place them in a sealed bag for about 8 hours or until they feel damp again, this will redistribute the moisture from the centre of the bud outward, then i will repeat the cycle again and again, but shortening the duration of each phase slightly as the buds will begin to dry and sweat quicker and quicker, in three or four days buds should be ready for consumption or storage."

*that was entirly plagerised from the High Times - Ready ,Set, Grow! video

Open Air 24 hours
In Bag 8 hours
Open Air 16 hours
In Bag 6 hours
Open Air 12 hours
Continue as necessary

You guys think this is a good method?

Hey, Blank. Good to see ya around. Again, that's really kind of a bummer that you were not able to maximize your space with more than one female, but at least you only have ONE to focus on now, so you can give it more attention. :D She does look nice and frosty, though. And DENSE, too! :yippee: The next 3 weeks will be GREAT! Looks like you will get some decent weight from that one. Looking forward to the harvest, buddy.

Ok so ive decided to try my Bubblegum

I read up on all the quick drying methods on the boards and they all suck apparently (microwave, oven, etc) :wtf:

But i came across a post, think it was crispi, who said you can pick wet heads straight off the plant, pop it into a vaporiser and u get great results!

Well i dont have a vaporiser so ive DIY'd a lightbulb vaporiser! Thanks to google!
Anyways as you can see in the pic i plucked the two very lowest buds off my plant, they get hardly any light, they are REALLY shitty looking and basically havnt grown in ages, had no hope for them so might as well smoke the little buggers! :stoned:

Myself and two secret allies will try it tonight. I will post later on about the results......Hopefully i'll be stoned off my tits!!! On my own Homegrown!!! :rasta:

Peace!

p.s After about 4 weeks vegging (many many weeks ago), i topped all 8 of my plants, dried what i cut off and smoked, those premature young pathetic leafs got me more stoned after two bongs than if i had smoked two bongs of the local shwag, so lets say im pretty optimistic about this experiment! :D

blank_21
04-12-2007, 05:03 PM
Heya All

So we just smoked the bubblegum

Problem was when i cut them up i realised each head was 4 leaves and some pistils. The top two leaves had some trichomes, very few tho. So basically i smoked some leaves with a few trichomes.

Used the DIY vaporiser until the weed was pretty dry then tapped it out and racked bongs.

You effect was rather nice, got slightly stoned, say 10%, it fellt different to any weed ive ever smoked. It felt clear and made me laugh. Put me in a immediate great mood. :D

I now understand the "euphoric , uplifting" description of bubblegum

I cant wait to feel the effect 100%

Peace :rastasmoke:

Heya All :D

I wish there where more people posting =( oh Well.....

So its Day 51 flowering, bubblegum flowers in 56 - 63 days. Cant wait

Here some pictures taken with my crappy camera phone...

The first two are of the flowering female, the other one is of a clone i took 6 days into flowering, it has lots of these crazy one and two bladed leaves..... the main growth shoots have only just started growing 3 bladed and 5 bladed leaves. Its growing really quickly though. Its sooooo much faster growing from clones than from seeds!

So my flowering female is looking excellant:thumbsup: .
About 80% of the pistils are brown, the trichomes still look clear. Ive heard you should harvest when your plants pistils are 60 - 80% brown, but i'll rather wait the 8-9 weeks that the seedbank specified.

Looks like im gonna harvest 4 forearm size buds :rasta:
Cant wait!!!!

Looking very nice. Dont go by the hair colors they can age long before the trichs! Seed farms tend to claim the shortest time possible in great conditions, often in reality they take a while longer. If you're harvesting even quicker than they recommend, you're probably harvesting too soon.

blank_21
04-25-2007, 11:41 AM
Whats the best trichome ratio??????? 50% clear/50%cloudy?? 80% cloudy???

Ive read clear trichomes are mostly THC and cloudy trichomes have alot more CBD.......

Whats the best?

Peace :rastasmoke:

faithlessxxx
04-25-2007, 11:53 AM
Generally, people tend to like to go about 50% cloudy and 50% amber.
Its considered more of a couchlock the longer you allow them to ripen and grow amber - up to a point. Personally, I tend to go for the amber color.

you could harvest one cola now.. one in 4 days.. another in 8.. and the last in 12.. and label their jars.. then smoke a test joint from each and see which you like best, then next time it will be exactly to your tastes !

blank_21
04-26-2007, 02:15 PM
Hmm that does sound like a good idea......

Id prefer to harvest all at once though, i think i'll take macros of the trichomes asap and harvest when the trichs are 50% clear 50% cloudy, i dont want too much of a couchlock stone, i prefer a uplifting clear feeling.....

Anyways thanks for posting

The drying method i ended up using was one i got from a grow vid ive seen.

Here it is : Grow DVD - Top Quality Marijuana Growing. - Google Video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8764935838656123813&q=marijuana+grow)

Its very basic, just hang your buds open air in a dark room, temp around 18 degress celcius. Low humidity.

Takes 10 - 12 days to dry. Im on day 7 , buds lookin great

I was tempted to try rush the drying process, but would rather just do it proply. When 10-12 days have passed the buds will go into airtight glass jars to cure.

Peace :rastasmoke:

Mmmmmmm! Bubblegum!

So all my buds are dry, 9 days hanging in a cool, dark room did the trick!

Got a decent amount considering i only had one plant.

I put all the heads in a airtight glass jar i bought,so that they can cure further, they look lovely!!

The dense covering of trichomes make the buds shimmer :rasta: And the smell when you open the jar is incredible!!

:stoned: :stoned: Quick Smoke report::stoned: :stoned:

Defnitly the best ive smoked so far!! Bongs go down soooo smooth, Taste is delicious , the high is strong and happy, quite clear, great feeling!! Very happy with the strain :stoned:

Oh ok

Well the website where i purchased the seeds stated 120g each tree...

I was checking out the bubblegum strain report on gangaland and a bubblegum grower wrote that he got EXACTLY 67.5g wet off each tree, - 70% weight when dry equals 20.25, and i got EXACTLY 20 grams off each tree for the second harvest of 6 trees. First harvest was 35g but it was one tree under the light instead of 6....
The third harvest also got 20 - 21g per tree for 6 trees.

Bubblegum is a joy and has changed the way my friends view marijuana, they had no notion of what amsterdam weed is like!

Thank you evolution for this wonderful plant!!

Nice log, including the bud photos (Mmmm). It is a favorite strain of mine and many others. Enjoy the fruit of your efforts, Blank!

I'll be harvesting my single bubblegum plant this evening. It was the smallest BBG I remember growing out, but it is very sugary and should be fantastic. I have seven other plants this grow, five already dried, so I will wait until the BBG is cured for a few weeks before I even taste it (well, ok to try a little popcorn earlier).
