View Full Version : Harsh joints?

Hey all, I was wondering what could be the cause of my "harsh joints". I usually put the same amount of tobacco (Britain) and weed in them, and pretty much roll them the same all the time. Sometimes they are really nice n' smooth but then other times harsh. Could it be the roach is too short or wide? I'd like to know since I hate taking harsh tokes, it ruins the whole thing.
P.s - What would make the joint harsher, more or less baccy?

If you're a non-smoker, leave the tobacco out of there. For anyone who doesn't smoke ciggs., tobacco would ruin the joint altogether.
Harsh tokes could be bad weed too.

Y'know you'd think you realize the problem by reading your post lol. I don't know how much you smoke tobacco but tobacco is just harsh to me period, I'm guessing that's why your joints are harsh. I would just smoke a joint of pure weed. I never smoked that many joints but when ever I did it was never harsh.

Harsh joints can also result from having really dry weed, which will burn obviously burn fast and result in more smoke being inhaled with each puff. I find that more moist weed will be smooth and easy to inhale while dried out bud will be more harsh. Also, smoking tobacco in general will make your bud more harsh, so if you can, lose it and just use bud for your joints.

Tobacco in a joint isn't a stupid method at all, it is a very common method used in the UK and is extremely rare to see people smoking with out it. I don't smoke cigs myself. I know tobacco is harsh but this gives no explanation as to why sometimes the joints are harsh then other times fine. There are a couple of posts here that my explain the reasons being, thanks.

Your weed is probably dry, I think that may have been mentioned but I'm just making sure.

It seems to me you're being a bit hostile, I actually can't understand why over such a small issue. I'm not here to debate why I put tabaco in my joint, I was asking why it could be harsh. As I've stated before it is extremely common here in the UK to put baccy in our joints, I don't know why, it's just the way we roll.

sorry veered off. roach is a whole chapter on its own. very important in english smoking culture.make sure to widen the roach hole as to see clearly the baccy at end of the empty tube. ive allways used clippers. n say 2cm by 3cm piece of card1 turn n a quart say slide in ,making sure plenty overhang, but not so much as to overtake length of roach n tuck it in . should have nice lil hollow tube. still think its prob too muchio green.

putting tobacco in a joint makes the joint burn more evenly. Plus, some people like the effects of thc and nicotine combined. I normally don't roll with tobacco, though.
using baccy in a spliff allows the grass to breathe, it tates better. blunts get you fukd admittedly, but they dont measure up to a proper baccy spliff. i find if it burns your throat a bit the baky is usually pretty dry along with the spliff being rolled a bit too loose which i think makes more burn at once. but this stil tastes good, in my experience wet weed just streaks and drier weed gives a nicer consistency meaning the cherry doesnt get so big thus the toke doesnt have as much heat behind it. nice

if you cant roll an all weed joint that burns evenly, you cant roll very well. personally i dont know anyone that rolls tobacco joints and i dont know why anyone would unless you are trying to conserve a short supply of weed. weed tastes best alone, not with nasty harsh cigarette tobacco mixed in.
