I realize that the police aren't really concerned with busting the 1/4 oz/week type guys like me. but lets say im gonna buy from someone who i haven't dealt with in the past. is there a good way to make sure they aren't an authority figure?

i know i should buy from someone i know... but i'm tired of the shit i've been getting from my guy (he's a good guy, but he's just not into quality). I've tried to network, find new people... nothing. I want to try and find someone who is a bit more of an aficionado. i want the dealer from american beauty. where do i find him?

You could ask if he is a cop, but a cop would probably still be able to lie about it. It also depends where you live, if you are in an area where it is weed friendly you prob have nothing to worry about. If you live where I live, you need to extend a little caution. Chances are however he isn't a cop or narc.

You have to use your own judgement though. How well do you know him. I don't like buying from people I'm not familar with for several reasons. And I avoid any dealer I know who sells meth, crack, etc.

yeah, fool-proof, get them to smoke with you.... atleast then, if it does go to court, you can either take him down with you, or get the charges thrown out...

in the US, cops can lie when working undercover. They can say they aren't a cop and can even smoke with you (assuming they aren't going to testify. For example, they may be wearing a wire or the transaction happens under surveillance). If they entrap you (say something like "as a police officer, i suggest you purchase these drugs") then your case will be dismissed. other than that, i cant think of a sure-fire way to stay safe.

The worst part is, i look like a cop (Big, tall, white, short hair). that tends to hinder my ability to make new "friends".

A cop can't ask you if you want to buy though, they have to wait for you to ask them. At least that is how I understand it. I'm pretty sure if the cop is the one who offers with out you asking for it, that is entrapment.

Have someone you know buy first,,,Nooo that is just rotten...

You have to have a gut for this kinda shit,,,go with your gut... You may want to change the meet place at the last minute,,,someone here suggested that once... if it's a sting cops usually have a backup and have to replan...

For instance, law enforcement officers directly engaged in the enforcement of controlled substance laws are exempt from laws surrounding the purchase, possession, sales or use of illegal substances. ref. 21 U.S.C. § 885(d) of the U.S. Code.

the only person who can order a cop to take a drug test is IA. for them to order it, there would be a case against the cop and he wouldn't be working undercover.

Buying from cops isnt really the problem there not as worried about the ppl that are buying as the ppl that are sellin so fuck it just buy from someone if they snitch its your problem you have to deal with it violently

I hear you man...I am in the same boat. people tend not to talk to me about weed because I don't look like a stoner. Drives me nuts not to have more toker friends.

There's no way to tell.
2 years ago in my town there was a bust where over 100 people got taken down by an undercover.
The guy was a fucking LUNATIC. I'm not kidding. He was this crazy ass, hardcore gangster type with prison tats and an attitude to match. He got deep into the local scene and no one suspected for a minute that he was an undercover... He almost singlehandedly brought 80% of the drug trade in the county to a screeching halt for over a year before anyone had the balls to step in and fill the void.
He got in fights, did lines with people, fucked the locals' girlfriends, you name it. The worst anyone thought was that he was part of a gang trying to extend their power from a nearby city. But never in a million years that he was a cop. OOOOPS!
Big mistake.
One more reason I will NEVER NEVER deal.
Grow your own.
That's the only way to be sure.
