What does she like?

I'd cook her something she's very fond off. Even if you mess up, it's the thought that counts.

Some expert chefs know exactly what kind of foods to serve together to bring out the best in someone's mood regardless of what her favourite food is, so if you really like this chick then maybe you should spend like half an hour on a search engine finding the perfect valentine recipe from someone who claims that the meal could subconsciously affect a person's mood or something. By the way presentation counts too, putting things next to each other in a certain way on the plate can change everything

depends on the woman.. and your cooking skill....

if you aren't good at cooking, you still gota find what she likes.. then whip up something simple...
if you're a damn good cook (or even heavily experienced) then whip up some extragant shit, also of what she likes...

just found out the basics... pork, beef, chicken, ect...
cheese, no cheese
spicey (not meaning hot, lots of flavor) not spicey

i can help you more if you find out the basics.. then i can give you a main course to make, and give you some good things as sides...

vegetable person, or pasta person?

lol there's alot to consider when trying to construct the perfect dinner...

and if you're over 21... white wine, red wine, champaign, beer or mixed drinks...

o.0 see what i mean, i could go on forever... (technically, i have the skill as of now, to become a culinary artist [so long as it's not chicken, i can't ever get that shit right... unless it's baked])

chicken strips in the oven, with potatoes lol, that's wat i;d make, maybe some pasta or something, and salad, cause a lot of chicks tend not to eat a lot when they are with a man.........

just some suggestions :S5:
light on the garlic
no heavy cream sauces or creamy soups well actually just dont serve too big a portion of this a little risotto on the side would be nice (seafood (lobster) risotto perhaps?) I happen to think that some good prosciutto and melon would be a very nice way to start things off

If your making Fried Chicken,,,don't listen to Slip...

Go to KFC or Popeye's and get chicken and make a couple sides like smashed potatoes...Then make a killer strawberry parfait for desert or Chocolate Mousse is a winner too... Just be sure it's whip creamy... Valentines is all about the desert IMO...

I know a very sexy dessert. Chocolate-covered strawberries. But what's even better is to wash and dry the strawberries and then get a (clean) needle and syringe from the drugstore and fill the syringe with Grand Marnier liqueur and inject each strawberry with about 10 CC of liqueur before dipping the strawberries in melted chocolate. Very sexy things to feed to each other. This is a dessert, even though it involves liqueur, that goes well with champagne. Also goes nicely with red lingerie.

or you can dump the chocolate all over her, and have her for desert.. i'm sure if you have to lick it off the right areas she wouldn't object

ok you ready you have 2 options here.
1. salad, oysters, vodka riggatoni, then a choclate mousse pie. This has worked very well for me im a cook and this isn't all that hard
2. Goto a pizza place before hand tell them you want a pie cut in the shape of a heart and you want them to write "I <3 you" with pepperoni. Never fails...ever

You've never cooked a steak? and you call yourself a man? hahaha

but seriously, I'm going to give you some good advice.

Hmm... you said she likes seafood...

If you want to impress her you should make

Wild Salmon and Asparagus Bowtie Pasta

1. Grill the Salmon over open flame with olive oil, salt, freshly ground pepper, lemon and a little garlic until medium-well

2. Cook the bowtie pasta

3. BBQ the Asparagus with salt, freshly ground pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, olive oil. Careful not to burn the Asparagus. Taste it to make sure it's done right.

4. Flake the salmon and add it to a big bowl with the pasta, chop the asparagus into 1.5 inch pieces and add, and add storebought fresh pesto sauce (unless you're handy at sauces). You're probably going to want to make a lot of this so you have leftovers.

5. You can consider adding a tiny bit of chopped sundried tomatoes or walnuts or both, but this is optional and should be suited to your tastes.

6. You're going to want garlic bread as a side, and you should seriously consider making an appetizer to make it a 3-course meal with your desert. You could go in a lot of different ways for the appetizer, anything from calimari (which might be over your head, but that's ok) to a light antipasta to mozzerella sticks to a fancy greens salad. Prosciutto wrapped around melon is clutch. You couldn't go wrong with a good ceaser, either. Oysters are known to have certain aphrodisical properties ;). For Desert, I like Birdgirl's strawberries or you could go to a good local bakery and get a fruit tart, which is rich but won't leave you overwhelmed.

The pasta can be paired with a lot of different types of wine; Salmon does not have to be paired with white wine anymore. A merlot, pinot noir or zinfandel will work well. If you want to go with white wine, go Chardonnay. A lot of people like Riesling with Salmon, but Riesling is too sweet IMO. If this is too much for you to choose from, go Merlot. Break out the bubbly for desert.

The Pasta tastes really good and all the individual ingredients can be made way in advance and added together at the last minute and heated up. It tastes amazing and is very pleasing to the eyes, very romantic. It's a well balanced meal that will more than satisfy you, but will leave you with some energy for extracurricular activities.. I've made this exact meal for girls on more than a few occasions and it's always a winner.

...Too bad (for the girls out there) that I don't have a real Valentine this year ;)...
