Does anyone in here ever feel like the ugly friend? I'm not looking for compliments because I know I'm not ugly. This mostly applies to females, but do you ever have a friend that always gets the guy? I'm friends with some GORGEOUS females and I love them to death, but when we go out the only time males talk to me is to get their number lol. It just makes me feel like the weird ugly friend. Its ok though because I'm also the funny friend I guess, people always tell me that I'm funny, and guys just bring drama. Haha. Its just funny cuz I will get ready to go out and feel like I look good and then my friends are like "What shoes should I wear? What belt matches" and I'm like ummmmm cuz I don't know stuff about that.

Also this is a tangent, but I HATE IT when my gorgeous friends are like "Oh, im so fat/fugly/stringy-haired" because it makes me second guess myself which I hate doing. I just have a high body image I guess, lol. I just think its rude because theyre all like size 3-5 and I wear a 12 I'm like hello?!?! I obviously weigh more than you, but I'm happy about it and it feels almost insulting when they say that. I wish they could see theyre gorgeous. I hope I just didnt sound hypocritical.

I always used to feel like that weird/funny friend and I was chill with that cause I love making people laugh, then I got with my boyfriend who is pretty much the most gorgeous guy I've ever met and he loves me to death. My best friend is drop dead gorgeous though and she even complains about how often people hit on her. I think funny girls just come on a lil stronger then soft spoken ones. Stop worrying about what other people think, or worse, what YOU THINK they think! I would trade 5 supermodels for ANY girl who is smart and funny and confident enough to have a thoughtful conversation with me. I have met TONS of really hot hot HOT women in my life, and 99% are perfect 10's from across the room, but when I've actually taken the time to speak to them, they often make me sorry I did. To me, there is nothing worse than a girl who is 95% beauty and 5% brains. Stupid people make me angry, no matter how pretty the package is.
I guess what I'm really trying to say is, you will find that there ARE some people who will care for you, and not JUST for how you look. Think about it... How much value can you put on a relationship that starts because of what your boobs look like, or how well you fill out a pair of size 4 jeans!

Well of course, those are very obvious signs of someone who doesn't take care of themselves. (with maybe the exception of being overweight, because some weight problems are glandular in nature. Certain glandular problems make ANY weight loss very difficult for some people) I also said "The hottest thing in the world to me is a smart, funny girl, who is comfortable and confident in her own skin." A female who has an odor, or body hair in the wrong places, or STDs for the most part isn't comfortable with themselves enough to be able to take care of themselves properly.

That comment actually reminds me of something that really made me angry last year.

We have a gym chain called 'Curves' which is supposed to be a chick-only, SUPPORTIVE workout environment.

I had been going to a normal meathead gym, and decided to give it a try.

So one day I'm in there puttering around and there are these 2 skinny chicks in there -like size 4- complaining LOUDLY about how fat they are. Right in front of the rest of the clients... and a LOT of women who go there are VERY overweight.

I'm built on the thick side of average... I used to lift weights, I'm kind of beefy, I ran triathalon for a while, and worked commercial fishing... no skinny asparagus stick here, that's for sure! I am generally happy with my build and was still WICKED insulted. Seriously WTF.

I just think it was really insensitive for these women to be saying those things, almost as if they were actually really insecure, fishing for compliments, or -yikes- had joined that particular gym to feel superior to the middle-aged office ladies just getting into a workout routine!

Needless to say I'm back with the beefcakes at the co-ed meathead place.

I guess I'm the odd ball out... I'll go for a girl that has a so-so personality but looks really good over a girl with a really good personality but looks so-so... Though I would probably be good friends with the latter and date the former. Though girls with hardcore 'girly girl' personalities is an instant libido kill for me...
