Dude, where you liv emy fishign brotha. When I lived in SW FLA all we did was blaze, fish, party, and work...In that order. My Dad and I are very avid fisherman, in fact I worked at a tackle shop when I lived down there. My buddy had a 22' Mako w/ a 150hp Evinrude. My dad's got a 20' Scout with a 150 yammy(yamaha) on it. Both are decked out for fishing, we don't take them out any farther than about 40 miles from shore, especially in summer when you get those afternoon boomers rolling in. I could talk boats all day. Good buy with the Whaler, they are quality.
Wow, im not the only person with a boat anymore. :)
Or the only one i knew of.
I work with em all day.

you should take that shit far out into deep water.. go after some real fish... i took a deep sea fishing trip (we didnt' go that far off the coast, 4-8 miles... but there were some BIG ASSED fish... mostly red snapper (one of my favorite fish) i don't remember the poundage on them, but they were a good 2-3 feet long....
one dude even caught a shark (black fin shark) wasn't very big, about your average catfish or so.... i'd never seen a shark until then.... their skin is fuckin weird when you touch it.. like sand paper.

Hey Lip,,,I worked briefly on outboards at a local boat sale place... I went inside and became the parts guy cause I was good with the microfiche machine and finding parts... The pay sucked in both places so I booked...

Lol. I've done work on outboards, helped a mate sort his out, in the end he decided to get a new one anyway for cheap as the old one was a good few years old and was starting to cost more to repair than what it was worth.
But as for work, im a marine diesel engineer. Pays good and i love my job. It's like getting paid to do a hobby, although servicing 10 boats a day and doing all the repairs gets to be hard work, not to mention the 3 hour drive to and from work, and the fact im sitting at home ordering parts most of my spare time. And making sure we have everything we need. Ordering resin. Ordering interior parts.. the list is never ending.
But i love boats, and fitting them out. You never use a spirit level on a boat, nothing's level, so it's a quick and easy job fitting em out... Well, a good few weeks, but not as long as you'd think.
I've loed boats with a passion since i was about 5 or 6. Never looked back.
I also love fishing, so the two go hand in hand.
Sometimes when it;s a nice day and im not doing anything i'll sit by one of the sheds with a lovely j and a fishing rod and i can be catching little rudd and roach non stop.
