ok i'm going insane... i just heard a female voice, not my wifes, say my name... it was LOUD and CLEAR, there is no mistaken it.... it kinda has me freaked out.... change that, really freaked out... i've always heard things (as any other person) that can be explained, but it was like someone was RIGHT IN MY EAR, and saying my name...

there is no mistaking what i heard, nor can it be explained away, so i can only conclude i'm losing my mind....

They say hearing voices is ok. It's when you start talking back to them that you need to be worried ;)

wasn't loud enough to make me go deaf, but it was loud and clear, period..

btw i can't smoke, i haven't smoked in probably over 2 months now, and with my brother moving away from my moms, i dunno if i'll ever be able to smoke again.. so that's not an option (nor is it auditory halucinations or paranioa caused by weed) ....

i'm sorry, i don't expect anyone to do anything about it, it's very strange... me and my wife have seen some strange shit in this house, as well as some friends i've had over the years (at all times, atleast the ones i'm talking about, there was MORE than one person, and both saw/heard the exact same thing.. so it's not quite abnormal)

never heard of it.

Ohh shit, you've never seen it? You should. It's a classic. Dude own a farm in the middle of nowhere and starts hearing voices to build a baseball field, then....well...you should prolly see it. "If you build it, they will come" = Classic :D

I had that happen to me once. I was lying in the bed and I heard this huge explosion. I jumped up and then realized it was inside my head. It sure did sound real to me. My ears were almost ringing. I always have thought that it was an acid flashback. But people say those are not possible, so I don't know what the hell it was.

I ALREADY SAID! I HAVEN'T SMOKED IN ATELAST 2 MONTHS! lol i don't have any bud... i du nno what it was, but i'm still sitting here trippin over it... it's just fucking plain trippy... it wasn't something mumbled, wasn't something half way distorted, it was plain and clear my name.... like someone just said my name right in my ear....

I HAD THAT SHIT HAPPEN TO ME WHEN I WAS LIKE 12!!! i was laying in bed, in my room (not a usual thing) and i heard this loud ass bang... like a dump truck going 50 mph just slammed into my brick house.... i ran out, to see wtf, nothing had fell, there was nothing on my street to explain it... to this day, i still dunno what it was, and i still think about it and wonder, wtf happened that day...

i'ts not the type of bang that would be caused by anything, even just a street over, it's the only type of bang, that could be caused by something happening, right beside you... i even felt the vibration the sound set off....

I have experienced this before and so has my husband. Its clear as day and makes you turn around and look where it came from. Its really creepy. I actually thought it may have been my dog talking to me because he was the only living thing in the house other than me. I know it wasnt my dog but it would have been awesome if it was.

I've had this happen to me before. The last time was 3 years ago, in '04, while I was meditating in my backyard. When I met my fiance in 05, the first time he spoke to me I freaked. The voice I had heard the year before was his.

I think sometimes we just pick up vibes in the air, like radio frequencies. The universe is mysterious and wonderful.

Yeah, brain farts, stress, sleepiness, or alien life forms can do that sometimes...

Shit, I have schizophrenia, and I don't even hear voices, just noises.

Try this next time you're drifting off to sleep. Imagine somebody saying your name, over and over again. Sometimes you can get it to sound exactly like somebody actually said your name. It's kind of freaky, but kind of cool too. It's a hallucination caused by the fact that your brain is between being awake and being asleep. When you're awake, your brain is putting reality into the mind's eye and mental imagery gets put on the back burner, but when you're asleep your brain puts its mental imagery into the mind's eye. Right between those two states you can still be conscious (that is, perceiving reality in your mind's eye) but at the same time also directly perceive something that is completely in your imagination.

I wouldn't too concerned over it unless it keeps happening.

Voices happen in ones mind when they have Scitzophrenia (sp?). Maybe with all this stress recently added into your life, your bro and all, maybe you are starting to suffer a nervous or mental breakdown. It happens to a lot of people when something in their life has a deep impact on them. It has to be something pretty severe for a person to lose their mind, but it happens.

So yeah, if it keeps happening, maybe consider seeing a doctor about it.

You never know man. You could be having a mid-life crisis, either or.

Or maybe your house is haunted. ;)

I know when we first moved to Canada, I had a bedroom on the top floor that overlooked the street. For the first year I lived there, every single night I would be woken up by sounds of 2 blocks being banged together. You know in elementary school in music class, where they give you the wooden blocks to hit, it sounded just like that. Like 2 hollow peices of wood being hit against each other.

To this day I still don't know what was doing that, but it went on for almost a year. It was weird, and no, it wasn't 2 logs or whatever, or someone hitting wood...it sounded just like those musical wooden blocks. So weird.

I also suffered nigh terrors and stopped sleeping when I was 13 and 14, so maybe that had something to do with it. Who knows, but I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens often.

Hi slip dear!
I've heard a voice like that once before too, and it might come from your subconcious mind... surfacing, or from some outside entity...from a time/space rift...aliens or spirits...nobody really knows what causes these unexplicable events, but many people experience them.

My father was a Lt. Col in the Marines (suffice it to say he was not the type to get all carried away by silly imaginings) and when we lived in Hawaii he woke up to the sight of a woman in a long white nightgown crossing the room. He thought it was his wife at first, but Lanelle was sleeping beside him. He turned on the lights and woke her up and told her about it. So weird.
I slept downstairs, and one night, months after this, I was drifting off to sleep when I heard what sounded like someone sweeping with a broom outside my closed bedroom door. I called out to see if it was my stepmother, but no one responded. Then there was a little push on my door, just enough to notice, and then silence. This pattern went on for SEVERAL HOUR

I have had many strange and unexplainable events like that in my life, but I don't think I am crazy. Many sensitivities are set off by stress, and I know you have had a lot of that lately, so don't add worry about this to your plate. Unless voices tell you to hurt yourself or others, it's not a problem.

I personally think there are various levels of experience beyond the everyday one we live in-

the human brain is an extremely complex thing,, im sure it has the ability oto manufacture vioces that have no explaining in your own head,,

on the other hand

it is also possible that the vioce came from some completely different universe, or a ghost, or form the other crazy mythical shit,,, cuz there is really no way of proving either one

It was most likely nothing but you might want to mention it to your doctor next time you see her if you're worried about it. I know you dont think much of your doctor but there is always a chance that all this stress you've been under has made you start to experience auditory hallucinations and that is something that she should know about. and you never know, that extra push could be what makes her start to listen to you and put you on medications that might help better.

I've had many encounters with "spirits"
I've heard my name, I've heard my keyboard being smashed on when I was laying in my bed, and I've felt my bed shake. The keyboard and bed thing has happened quite a few times, but hearing a voice was once. And it doesn't always mean its a bad thing ..it could be really good :)

well, this is the only time it's ever happened to me... which is why it had me tripping.... i still can't explain it, and it's still... weird to me.. like i said, me, my wife, and some friends have all seen/heard some really freaky ass shit that still goes unexplained to this day (me and a friend heard a voice once say "get the fuck out" it was a booming voice, we both heard it at the same time, cuz when it happened we both looked at each other with an oh shit look, and without saying a word both of us got up and ran outta the room... it was the middle of the night and we were sober, no tvs on no nothing... me and my wife were laying in bed, when we both saw a white flash, looked like a peice of paper falling, but like it had a rock in it... it came out of no where (with the positioning of the room, there was no way it could have fallen off anything) and when we got up to see wtf it was, there was nothing there.. those are just a couple)

so i'm not entirely past believing it was some ghosty-haunted type shit... but the get the fuck out voice, sounded pissed, and it was really deep... this one.. i mean this is the part that trips me out, cuz when you think/hear of a ghost-voice.. it's like either pissed off, or in pain, or a strained voice, or barely audible... shit like that... this was just like as if my wife got up right next to my ear and just said my name, no strain, no pain, no anger, no distortion...

Trip on this. Last place I lived was in a house in the mountains, pretty secluded, neighbors like a mile off in everydirection. People before us moved out cause one of their family members killed themselves their. I swear that house is haunted.

Well for about 7 or 8 days straight the television would turn on at exactly 2am to a music channel ( we had satellite tv) and it would be the same song everynight playing " I loveee youuuuuuuuuu".The last time it happened, I unplugged the cable before I went to sleep...it still happened. That, along with many other stories, we decided to get the fuck out and we moved pretty quickly.
