So a dea agent came to my school today and talked about drugs and how weed makes u do harder drugs a bunch of videos of people who died from doing heroin and crack but started with weed i didnt pay any attention to that but he showed us an newspaper article about 2 teens who suffered strokes and died after smoking weed. So then he shows us about 12 medical journal entires from 1989 about teens who've had strokes while smoking weed. He said it doesn't happen often but it happens. He said it happens to only certain peole and theres no way to tell if it s going to happen to you. HE said its caused by your blood pressure going to low and something happening with your brain. Now i thought no ones ever died from weed? It couldnt just be a coincidence because teens dont have strokes. So what do you all think of this?

he is paid to scare you DEA DRUG NFORCEMENT AGENT.
NO one EVER died from smoking weed EVER EVER EVER. he is full of shit. The weed they did was LACED! str8 weed cant kill you.
They can tell me if my DNA contains a link that can make me an alcoholic by genetics, but they cant tell me the reason some teen died because of smoking a joint and if it can happen to me. THEY ARE FULL OF SHIT!
Next time you see him ask him this if you have the balls,
Then why is alcohol leagle when DUI's kill inocent lives every tear ,distroy families and cause breakdown in society and cause crime during prohibition and is an addictive substance leagle when weed, that had never been PROVEN to be the sole cause of a death and has medicinal properties be illeagle?
see what the cock smoker has to say then.

This is pretty logical. Most of you claiming bullshit are probably not educated very far in health. Usually it's more common in new smokers, especially if they smoke a ton. Weed can lower your blood pressure after smoking, especially if it's some good shit. This is the light headed feeling you get. But new kids start up and take 3 or 4 blunts to the dome when it's their second time smoking, their blood pressure drops extremely low, and they can faint or have a stroke. It's pretty rare, but it can happen...but again, this has only been found to be true with novice smokers, or people who smoke maybe twice a month. Their body isn't used to such a dramatic change.
It couldnt just be a coincidence because teens dont have strokes.
Uhh, teens can in fact have strokes.

And for you picky bitches, this is not death as a result of marijuana, it is death from a stroke. Of course a coroners report won't read that marijuana caused the death.
etc.

Umm, obviously if you have abnormally low blood pressure then smoking weed is not going to be a good idea. Substantial loss in blood pressure usually only occurs after getting shit faced though. Like so baked you can't stand up. Getting that high when you A. Do not smoke very often and/or B. When you have low blood pressure would not be the greatest idea. I'm not saying a joint is going to kill someone with hypotension. But if the conditions are right, I can see it happening.

Wrong wrong wrong!
Teens CAN have strokes. Weed does NOT lower blood pressure. It raises it, and can cause tachycardia, aka faster heartbeat. This alone is NOT enough to cause a stroke.
Strokes, or TIAs, are essentially heart attacks in the brain. When one has plaque in their arteries, either from genetic predisposition or eating waay too much saturated fats, they stick to your arterial walls, like a gummy substance, and can harden over time.
High blood pressure, even for a few hours, can cause these plaques to break off, and lodge in smaller blood vessels and cappillaries in your veins. Storkes are deadlier the older you get, because of the larger particle sizes that accumulate in your veins.
If there was a stroke, it would have to be caused by something that would raise your blood pressure MUCH higher than cannabis alone. The more pressure, the more parts that break loose. Cannabis is like jogging mildly to your heart. Jogging normally would raise one\'s blood pressure far out of reach than cannabis. But speed or PCP will raise it that high.
It was laced.

Co sign. People are dying unexpectably on rollcoasters from unknown medical conditions. Maybe they should make rollercoasters illegal too. And teens can die from stokes just like than can die from heart attacks and a healthy 32 year old firefighter can die suddenly of an aneurysm. They're all just unfortunate circumstances. The DEA is just using that as a scapegoat to make a case for keeping herb illegal. That's real pathetic. You can tell they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Man I'm sorry. Replace low blood pressure with high in my posts. I'm pretty fucking baked. That was a Freudian slip.
After some more research I found a few articles to reference what I remember learning a while back. Rare risk: Adolescent binging on marijuana linked to stroke (http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2004-04/slu-rra042804.php)
Meh. I doubt anyone will ever find a medical fact on weed to be 100% accurate until it is legalized and less of a taboo to research.
Again I'm sorry about trying to look smart when I'm high.

If there was even a 0.001% chance of you dying from smoking weed, then we would know about it because people would be dying by the thousands from weed just in this country. But in reality, there are no reports of anybody dying as a direct result of cannabis that are not heavily contested in the medical community. And even if these very few claims of cannabis-related deaths are true, then statistically it still isn't any more dangerous than tap water (which also kills a very tiny minority of people who consume it).
Dont belive what they tell you. 100% of it is bullshit.
I bet these 2 teens was just a plot by them to scare you into not smoking, you know what, it wouldnt surprise me.
Even if it was true, it wasnt the weed. Like Oneironaut said, we'd be hearing about it all day every day.
It's just like them saying it causes cancer and brain damage.
It's all grade A bullshit.
