gr!!! So the other night I decide that I want a freaking bottle of wine....so I drive my ass on up to safeway...and as I am pulling into my parking spot...the car DIRECTLY next to the spot I am just pulling into starts to back up REALLY fast....!! Well first fucking thing I notice is that this girl has NO REAR VIEW MIRROR and is NOT turning around to look at me...so I honk..and next thing I know she hits me.

We both get out of the car, really freaked out..I doubt this girl is any older than me....

SO I decided to be REALLY nice and say just give me your phone number and if I notice any damage later I will call her...
..because at the time I didn't really see any damage to my vehicle(didn't think about trying to see what happened when I opened up my door!)..

..SO to make a long story short, I have some people look at my car that night, some friends...they say to call that girl right now because the damage is not good.

SO I call her, leave a message...and decide to wait until the next day.

I call my insurance...they say I need to get an estimate..so I go get an estimate...ONLY to find out that by law I now have to fill out an accident report because the damage to my car is OVER 1500$....

My kelly blue book value on my car in the condition it is in is only worth 1800$..so there is a good chance that if I am ever able to make a claim on this girls insurance my car title will have to be salvaged anyway(which wouldn't be that bad...).

GRR...why must I be so nice? The whole time I knew I should be getting all of this girls information.

Yeah, and I know that...but I have this huge problem sometimes of not wanting other people to feel bad...
I have totally been in that girls situation and the girl that I barely hit freaked the fuck out on me and it was just a horrible experience...

I didn't want that girl to feel like I did....PLUS at the time I really thought the damage was nothing..(which I know you should still get the info)..

..I was just in a moment of SHOCK..I wish I had had someone else with me...

It's been 2 days and 2 messages, she isn't calling back.

Something similar happened to me when I wasn't moving and some stupid ass truck driver ripped up the side of my bumper. I told my friend to get the fuck out of here, he was rolling a blunt right when it happened, so he darts away and I exchanged information with the driver, and simply let it go, I was in a rush to do other things. I end up being screwed by the insurance company because the guy said I hit him! His truck had no damage, and I had a ripped bumper. I ended up in a dispute over a year to get it ruled the other way around.

he rear ended me again i was like what the fuck
then he ran into me a third time.
i got kinda scared and put the car in park and jumped
out real quick waving my arms to get his attention
he was a lil illegal mexican homie and he was scare when he realized

i was like ok so i got his license and address and phone number

this mother fucker had the balls to say that i cut him off
when the insurance man came to look at my car he said
" are you sure you didnt hit the car with a bat"

It is a cell phone number. My only hope at this point is to pay a reverse cell phone search website. I know it is her real number because the message machine sounds like her and is the name she gave me.(unless shes screwin over a friend?)...

...the police said they can't help me because I didn't call right when it happend and they can't do anything with a cell phone number and a first name.

Insurance company says the same thing.

So basically....I think I am screwed. I don't know how much effort I will put into getting anything out of her....chances are she probably doesn't have insurance and thats why she won't call me back.


I learned my lesson. My car is a 1992 piece of crap anyway, but it had no dents in it...and although this dent isn't really noticeable...I am still pissed...and it makes me angry everytime I open and close my door and it hits the front panel over the drivers side tired. Grrr.

She doesn't need to know what the cops have already told you. One other question though; doesn't the insurance company owe you to fix your car no matter what? What if a tree fell on it or something? I only have liability insurance...so I can only get it fixed if I pay my deductible..and I am not paying that.

My car is a pos anyway I suppose....but it was in good condition...grrr.

Thats the thing....cosmetically...it's really NOT that bad, and you can hardly tell unless you are just really looking...so I told her it didn't look that bad....and that if later on I noticed it looked bad, like many do, that I would call her than and get her info...but that I didn't think I would have to. So I had 2 of my guy friends(one my boyfriend) look at it right after it happend..and they both said it was bad....so not more than 30 minutes after it happend I called her. Than the next day I called my insurance...and got an estimate...and it does not look that bad, however it is a lot to fix it. Also the lame part is that my drivers door hits the front panel now which is over the tire....makes me sad everytime I open and close my door. Although to can't really see the damage..it makes me sad. I have had this car 5 years and it had no damage...
Ah well....I suppose it had to happen sometime..I just wish I would have been more assertive....
