i am recently geting over the flu andwas wondering if it is a good idea to toke up. ive been coughing up shit for the past couple of days and my nose won't stop running. will cannabis act as a catalyst in amplifying flu symptoms if i do decide to smoke?

It will make you feel a bit better and you know how pot dries out your mouth? Well, it does the same to your nose. It isn't anywhere as effective as a cold tablet that will dry up your nose completely, but it will help a bit. But mostly, it will take the edge off all those aches and pains, so you feel better. Take your vitamins, since you likely haven't been eating properly. - Granny:stoned:

I smoke when I have the flu- it does WONDERS for that orthostatic (standing up suddenly) head pain and body aches... Wow.

Smoke up!

by word of mouth i herd that smoking actually lowers your immunity, not sure if its true or not.

It's a pseudo myth spreading around through semi-'scientific' communities... They expose leukocytes, B-cells and T-cells- blood cells which are responsible for fighting off bacteria, viruses and other foreign matter- to extremely high amounts of THC in a petri dish, and are surprised when they die or slow down a bit.

All in all? Smoking regularly or even heavily has a minute effect on your immune system...

I heard (and you guys can google it if you want to find out more) that marijuana has something in it that stops people from throwing up. That's why a lot of people who are doing cancer treatments prefer to have marijuana because it stops them from getting really sick. But, this could be a rumor.

well unless the flu is affecting my lungs to badly Ill smoke. But hey keep in mind I had a horrible horrible migrane and flu one time and I smoked and my migrane got worse. But anyways i do find that smoking on the flu does help it. But sometimes I cant handle the smoke if I am sick so therefor I would end up cooking and eating cannabis...
