You could, but then it would taste like ass. Use salt and rubbing alcohol (99% if you can find it). Pour the salt in first, just use a little in the base. Then pour the alcohol in and shake for a few minutes. Dump it out and repeat as nessicary.

You can rinse it out with hot water after to get the alcohol taste out, but you dont need to dilute it.

Wow, you really need to clean that more often, haha. The more salt you use, the better its going to scrub it. I usually use at least a 2 to 1 ratio of salt to alcohol.

CLR, as well as the citrus based "goo gone" also both work well. However the toxicity aspect has scared me, so i usually wash it out after with a little bit of dishsoap. a nice thorough rinse, and it smells like....well nothing. and it tastes the same. not to mention SPARKLING freakin clean.

Use Isopropanol Alcohol (rubbing alcohol, 99%, not the 70% as it doesn't work as good) and salt. Give your bong a good rinse with that stuff.

After that, use hot water, avoid boiling water as it might crack/break your glass, but just under a boil, and rinse all that Iso and salt out of there, really good. If you don't rinse it out good with the water after, you'll be able to taste the Iso, which is unpleasant.

Then that's it! This Iso stuff can be found at most drug stores. Ask for Rubbing Alcohol, not Isopropanol as that confuses them, for some reason.
