They usually call it off for about 1 inch if it's really cold, and about 2-3 inches if it's not all that cold.
edit:
And by the way that map dosen't show my part of the state, I live in the south west corner right next to the Tennesse border.

dude... we need like a foot of fresh snow... over night... and then a sudden down poor of rain, to flood the rivers... the rivers to start flooding and taking out a home or 2... and then and then... school is only delayed for 2 hours...

Turned out it only snowed about 1/4 of an inch and then it started raining and by the time school was out there was very little snow left... so it was just a 2 hour delay...
But it dosen't take much to get us out because the very most it ever, ever snows here is like 6 inches, and that's only like once every 3 years. Used to be that it snowed a lot more, even in my lifetime I have seen the effects of global warming.

Shit for my school to be out we need either so much snow you cant get the truck out of the garage, or complete sheer ice on all the roads. I had to go to school a couple weeks back with 4 inches of snow and -8 degrees outside and thats nothin once we had to go when it was around -15 a couple years ago. Your a lucky bastard!

yea... ive had to go to school with a foot of snow on the ground... the bus driver had to clean up alot of eggs and bacon... but we live in a hick town were everyone has trucks, and 4 wheelers... so we are expected to be able to make it...
