The title of this project is, KLG210507. This in my head stands for KL 2nd grow, seedlings sprouted on the 5th of Jan and I would like to show off my progress as well as have a place to ask a few questions that Iā??m going to be having.
So here are pics from the last month of this kids life :D (bare with me while I upload them all)

The middle one and the one closest to you in the picture is also now dead as of a few days ago... it remained very tiny its leaves turned yellow and curled up.

This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken... and I've taken well near 20,000 pictures in my life time within the last few years its kinda sick.

At this point I asked for help on the basic growing boards, I came to the conclusion that I needed to make the grow room warmer, I also began adding some more water when I did in fact water them the soil dried out too quickly.
This is what they looked like.

You will notice that they perked up in the next set of pictures only 3 days later.

Currently the way my little operation is set up... very basic I know. I have some cans of spray paint as you may have saw and I'm hoping to eventually make some sort of box with it and obviously paint it white, hopefully by the time flowering starts.... I pulled the lights back a little bit as to take a better picture.
There are also two fans running one mainly towards the canopy in an effort to push away some of the excess heat from the fans, and the other oscillating fan for general wind stem strengthening and air circulation.

And lastly from the same set as those above...
The 5th node is just about to push out and then that means pretty soon it'll be time to flower as I've seen Garden Knowm recommend that people NOT using HID's should do as such. I would also like to attempt topping on this plant and perhaps using the tops as some sort of start to attempt cloning as well I have some root hormones that I picked up. But I was thinking of doing this to the 6th node set any comment on this?
[attachment=o116113]

[attachment=o116115]
[attachment=o116116]
This is also where my first question comes in.
[attachment=o116117]
As you may be able to notice the last set of leaves is turning a bit brown and wilting downwards. So far these are the only ones, and this is a sign of a Nute burning as best I can tell after consulting the Bible. I will admit I crushed up a few and I don't mean a lot, of those MG slow release tablets and put them at the base of the last transplant. What should I do take out the plant and attempt to removed any excess residue?

CFL's yes indeed About 150 watts total. LSTing yeah... more bud sites and better light to the bud sights assuming it turns out into a chica I've read the tutorials on it and I guess I'm still hesitant but gotta learn how to do it sometime.
(Let me also just say I haven't smoked in like 3 days bla bla boiled the rez outta my pieces and "I'm fucked" as Ricky would say <3 Its like my g/f and I broke up yesterday to so my brain is in a bad place.

nah dont afraid man just loop something 1 node before the top and bring her down, make sure she was watered before so she is pliable.
its easy and simple, i was afraid myself but now i abuse them and they still love me.

I tried a nute flush on my plant sadly enough so I figured she'd be ready to bend ! After lsting the next, the plant really started to grow and there was a double in new leaf growth thanks to there being more light. Its more of a bush right now than anything haha I changed the light setup to better accommodate this new means of growth where more light in specific areas that are just starting to grow out. Tomorrow the 5th will mark this plants 1st month of life. So in a months time I'm happy. and added another one the best I could with the limited fixtures I have till payday ya know! Two fans are circulating the air very nicely.
I'm wondering if the picture of a close up is telling me this plant is a Male, I'm just not gonna get my hopes up assuming its a female in any case!
Any who so I hope you can tell how much bushier it got from the space in time. And the bend in the plant.

I'm gonna put them to rest for 6 hours ;) Took a few pics... You can notice the difference in a 24 hour time period. The little leaves that were just coming out now have pretty much created a wall.

The only thing is the other side of the plan that wasn't being LST'd is sorta small. I picked up another 42watt cfl which I was thinking of placing on the side that hasn't been growing for the day to try and even it out.
[attachment=o117136]
I think whats paying off for me is getting those lights as closely as I can its nuts. Its a month old now to :jointsmile:

I mean I might be crazy but I put them into a solid 18/6 for the last 5 days and now they're starting to Pre-Flower... the plants a little over a month old now I don't know what to do :( My options, continue to let it veg and try and clip some clones. And when I put it into 12/12 for flowering do I need to have the flowering light bulbs right away or can I get away with having only 2 42w 2000k bulbs (warm temp flowering bulbs) and having the cool lights for continue general growth, or do they all need to be for Flowering/
[attachment=o117992]
[attachment=o117993]
[attachment=o117994]
You can see that there was a little bit of uneven growth in the back of this one.
The following two pictures are one side of the plant, and the other side so each picture is a different spot. The leaves aren't very thick and full not even the well developed, though the bigger bottom fan leaves do look nice I suppose its normal for them to be so much whisperer at the top.
Any comments or advice would be appreciated I get discouraged posting when people don't reply once a while, especially now some help would be appreciated.... :)

Don't worry, when things look fine people just pass threads on by, think of it as a memoir to look back on once you've smoked her.
The plant you showed is definitely a female, is preflowering, but is just fine as is. I believe it can be kept in a vegetative state for quite some time while preflowering by sticking to that 18/6 light cycle.
I'm getting ready to switch to 12/12 in a few days, as I'm a week ahead of you.

What about the lighting question, or do people just not switch bulbs usually and throwing in a 2000k bulb will just make the plant that much stronger? Then I dunno where to try and clip a clone from, like where on the plant would it be a good idea.. its very bushy on the one side and not as full on the other side, so maybe there and then that'll let some extra light in. Or I guess I could clip flowering clones and get some sticks of bud haha

Shes looking great. The point of LST-ing is that the underside wont have much growth at all. All the branches that would have grown on the other side will now grow upwards. You need to get her to the point where shes completely doubled over, so that the bend is in fact slightly higher than what would have been the top of the plant.

To clone, you cant just use one of the branches that just has a big old fan leaf at the end, you need to pick a healthy branch that has secondary branches growing out of it.

Odd how I get two posts out of the blue!
At least it gives me a reason to post again.
This plant has been in Flowering for only 2 days so far but by the end of the week I can't wait to see the next stage of the plants life. I also went and picked up some potting soil and threw some perlite mixed that up and re-potted the plant, when I took the other one out of its old container the roots would have run out of room to grow soon they were peaking into the aquarium stones I place at the bottom of my pots so I just loosed up the root ball a little bit and watered her and took some pics before she was put down for her 12 hours nap. 7pm-7-am is darkness and of course the opposite for light time. I wanted to mimic the way it was outdoors currently here in MN.

I saw you post that Phosperus advice in the other forum too, would a commercial 15-50-15 bloom formula work well, or do I need to go after something else to accomplish this?
Hopefully with the 5 lights I have going on it now, it'll be alright to flower with. A mix of 2000k and 6000k bulbs

nice nice my log must have been on a back page. Since I hadn't posted in it in 11 days.
I understand the value of adding nutes, especially now during flower, however
I'm always worried about adding more nutes after the 1st time I burned them they lower leaves always had issues... but the top seems to be doing fine minus a single finger on a leaf burn. I saw it at Menards, it was just a Schultz brand bloom formula for plants, 15-50-15 as I said. Man wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of hydro store close by! So hopefully then that solution will work out and when I water them in a few days I could then begin to feed them assuming this information I've just provided changes anything.
I have about 4.5 ft of room vertically, and if I took out the shelf near 6.5ft of room so at least I should be able to contain the beastly bush within my closet even with only 2.3 for width.
[attachment=o120390]
I almost forgot to mention that just today I started using Co2, but only through vinegar and baking soda, unlike your nice little setup which I think I could easily make someday down the road. My closet that this is growing in, in the apartment I rent, doesn't exactly fit together as it should. So there is always a slight gap between the closet at some point so I'm gonna have to see if I see any results or not, because if not perhaps its just to ventilated to utilize I figure. 9 hours till it wakes up.

If you've got a gap, how's your lightproofing? Get some weatherstripping from Home Depot or something, the wide kind, and seal that up.
Right now I"m using vinegar and baking soda cause I'm out of yeast:) Gotta take my lazy behind to the store. Oh, and I'm using Schultz also, 10-52-10. You'll be fine. Just watch your N. You only use a quarter tsp. per gallon of that stuff anyway.

I switched the side of the plant when I went into flowering with the doors on along with some ply wood to give it a further barrier, painted white no less. I don't believe that there is light reaching the plant I've tested this over and over again, when I have the lights on and the doors "shut" you get a beam of lighting coming out maybe an inch wide. at the back end farthest away from the plant. I can post pics if you'd really like.
How do you post your pics like you are doing IN the body of the message (as opposed to just attatching them)?? Are you linking them from somewhere?
Well when you do the post reply and upload them, just go back to the paper clip button at the top that attaches them in the first place and the drop down menu will say "Insert All" in regards to the attachments after they have been uploaded. Other wise you can manually put them how you'd like by rearranging them It's a simple tag like [Attach222}
Well maybe I'll try to find the 10-52 instead of the 15-52
Hmm I suppose the lsting makes sense I was just gonna say eff it and let the plant grow as it wanted, but don't want it to stretch too much either :( Most of the Leaves minus the top are all grown out to one side at least... I'm just curious to see how the plants going to end up, I look at some peoples pictures on this site of their lsting and I guess I'm usually just scratching my head...

Here is the gap around my space if you will... I can close the middle one off if I haggle with the doors enough,but its morning so I'm not worrying about the spaces. You can also see the back light gap with the reflection against the wall its a very small slit. The reason I shifted the side the plant resided on was because the light from the ceiling lamp, and the windows can't directly touch the plant because of the doors and plywood on top of that, I suppose we'll see what happens though huh!

CFL's 2- 42 watts (2000K, flowering bulbs ),3- 26 watts 6000k one on each side I still have 2 6000k and 2 2000k extra lights that I could put in there if I had enough light sockets one of my lamps broke ;/
I also have two fans running one to blow the heat off the majority of the bulbs and a small oscillating fan for general air flow.

Not to sound like a dick, but at this point I shouldn't even have spent the 3$ out of the $4.50 I have to my name on nutes, maybe once I get some money I'll look into buying the tape, but at this point it won't happen maybe I can get some cloth or something and just stuff it shut? Theres a long story involving a felony charge behind it... I really need to get a job it'd help out my family (mom and I) a lot. but thats neither here nor there..
The plant grew up words a lot already today it was scary from the pictures this morning at like 11 til now at 630. I got those nutes though so I'm just not sure when to use them, do you do it only once and then let the plant use up all of the stuff in the soil? So the next time I water in a day or two should I add the solution to the water and let it go?

Eh its not you its me. I apologize.
But as far as applying the nutes?
Mrs. Greenjeans
02-21-2007, 09:32 AM
Apply according to the package directions for HOUSE plants. It should be something small, like a quarter teaspoon to a gallon of water. Add in a tablespoon of molasses as well if you have any. Mix it up good. As far as how often to feed, only you will know that. I feed every other or every third watering. Watch your plants. They'll tell you what they need.:)

you wont have light problems those bulbs and that setup is perfect and yea add very little nutes it may look unharmful but what ever it sais in the back does it. i was adding ph dropper in the water the other day.. it has sulfuric acid in it and never use that crap not even if u ph is pure alkaline its very harmful and burns leaves after using it i could feel little bees stinging my hands i washed them but at night i saw one part of my flesh on a finger had melted off haha sounds gross but its very very small u can see some pink from under the skin :D

02-21-2007, 09:36 PM
Maybe I'll use a little lease then what it calls for, which I belive it 1 teaspoon/gal
Ah yes invision, I tired to talk to u in chat last night but you went off just as I finished my thought.
So now that its reaching back up I should just tie down the next node of the plant and let it continue to grow out and up and then eventually just tie down the next node thats grown out and then it'll grow up again and so forth and so on, is that correct?
I noticed in your other thread you mentioned you tied it down under the canopy. But other wise I think I get the jists of it we're just keeping it short and letting the lower leaves catch up if you and create a denser canopy which should in turn create a better yeild in a smaller space by allowing more light to reach into the canopy and beyond.
Shes a few days into flowering as it is right now the pistils on the 2ndary growth sites are starting to form so I think so far all is going according to plan.

Why schultz bloom plus- 10-54-10 ;)
Mrs. Greenjeans
02-22-2007, 01:34 AM
Are you sure it says a teaspoon per gallon? Because I have Schultz 10-52-10 and it only says a quarter tsp. for houseplants.
KL4D4
02-22-2007, 01:39 AM
Ya I know thats just what I remembered off the top and it was correct for trees and such. That minute edit time is worthless.
So yeah 1/4 tsp per gal is correct
So I usually just watered a half gallon at a time.
So If I mix the nutes into a full gallon watering with only half won't be a problem letting the other have of the solution sit? Other wise I suppose than an 1/8th if thats 1/2 of a 1/4 would work out too.
Mrs. Greenjeans
02-22-2007, 01:43 AM
Just pour the extra out. It's a bigass container lol! And a little of that stuff goes a long way. Or, go pour it on your regular houseplants. Or on a tree outside. Trees like food.

02-22-2007, 01:47 AM

Mrs. Greenjeans
02-22-2007, 01:49 AM

4 more hours til darkness I'm just hoping the plant dosen't grow soo much that it gets burns ;) maybe a little wishful thinking haha

I dunno I'm just noticing as you can see the flowers are really stretching up... Should I just LST the main stalk down at an angel and at more than just a 90 degree bend to try and kep it evened out?

Wow KL, what a pretty girl! So many flowers!
One of my girls is doing the very same uneven growing thing yours is doing. I finally gave up trying to tame her. I was going to try to keep her small, because I was growing in a closet. But I'm moving her to my new house, where I have lots of room, so I'm just going to let her do her thing.
If you need to keep your girl small, you can tie her down some more. If she's flexible enough, just tie the string on her about the 2nd or 3rd node down, then bend her all the way down and secure the free end of the string. Be careful. You don't want to crack her, or pull her loose. Also, you don't have to secure the free end to her pot. You can tie it to anything that will hold it and is convenient etc.

I got smoked up by funky fresh last night.... exhale in hale fuck that shit messes you up damn yo
I came home and was worried my pot wasn't big enough so I turned a garbage can into a pot. Cut about 8 round holes in the bottom of it, and at the bottom of the soil is a patch of aquarium rocks, then perlite, then soil mixed with perlite. I picked up 30 lbs of soil for the purpose of planting.
Some of the bottom of the roots broke off though :( I hope they recover from the shock and the new roots start growing... maybe it'll do them some good to get broken? At least they're still there.... though they looked a little droopy when I put them in their sleep time.
I will take some pictures of the knots that have formed more at the bottom of the plant its awesome!
I watered today with 1/2 gallon of distilled water I PH'd with an Aquarium equalizer today and also added maybe 1/2 of a gallon of the nute water at the end. There is a lot more room in the new container than there was in the other. So Maybe the roots will really be able to take off.
Also thanks to funky, I went out and picked up 2 Y socket adapaters, so now I have my 2 42w and 3 26w bulbs in those, a 30w "soft white" aka 2700K aka FLOWERING bulb. THere is a 42 w and a 30w and 1 13w of just 2700k bulbs on the plant now. 1 42 "cool white" 6500k and 3 26w's
So in total thats about 200 w of CFLS in there with the mylar thats gotta double... I'm hoping to make the last month of this plants life a memorable one ;)
Thats my power setup with a layer of mylar trapping the whole thing
I don't have patience while intoxicated I've realized.

Ummm....yea, not so sure that transplanting at this stage was such a good idea...

So by this you did mean transfering while it was in flowering right? Why? Something along the lines of stress like I slowed down the growth for a little while?
looking good think youve got a long flowering strain there though, whose the girls in the pics behind the plant at the top of this page?
Why do you think that? Just the way they look because I'm going to agree with you. Friends of mine...
So update. So I was wondering what do you think the mix of my plant is now? It has the skinnier leaves and such but I read threw http://boards.cannabis.com/attachments/strains-seeds/118201d1171068928-white-skunk-sensi-seeds-white-label-ws.09.02.07.low.flower.jpg
I and while I know its not some bomb strain like his, just the way they look is the same. If you look farther down his thread his plant is a bush outside but they have similar traits even with the appearance of flowering. Sorry ! Enough of my rambling

The buds are starting to get a lot bigger
[attachment=o123541]
The buds at the top again
[attachment=o123542]
This particular bud picture came from one of the very lowest branches that wasn't getting very much light. I ended up gathering about 4 of the lower branches and LST'D them together and moved two lights down to cover just that area I'm hoping to pump in some extra energy in the areas that aren't receiving much light every time a water eventually I figure I will move another light the other side and balance things out. You can see the bottom branches I"m referring to in the lights off picture if you click the picture and zoom in on it, looking sorta fuzzy in the pic :)
So there is one much smaller side branch at the very bottom of the plant I doubt getting much light... would that be a good candidate to try and re-veg I'd like to preserve a piece of this plant if can be I haven't been successful with the seeds I've gotten recently either :(
Are you sure it says a teaspoon per gallon? Because I have Schultz 10-52-10 and it only says a quarter tsp. for houseplants.
I've been using 1 teaspoon/gallon (4x 1/4tsp) with mine for many flowerings, that shultz won't burn; works like a charm.

The buds smell soo amazing right now, the room itself doesn't smell but the buds make me want to take but I know better they are far too small at this point.
These two buds are from the bottom I think they are more interesting to look at with their odd hues.

See I'm wondering if part of my little problem is just the leaves getting eaten naturaly. I used distilled water ph'd down 2 7 for watering, but then in the chat they said that then some metals might be out of the soil and throwing things out of whack. I don't have a soil meter, do you think walmart has one? The unbanned MS.Green you should hit me up about that. Maybe I should go invest in a water pump as well there was a 10$ and a 20$ one one was like a stone or something.... I'll have to scavange some more details... raquetball at 9:30 it already 2:12. Now ever since I can remember I've been poppin my collar!
The pink hues are gone in the younger buds at the bottom, they've shifted to orange and eventually brown.
I still don't know whats wrong with my plant or if it just eating its leaves for nutes naturally ect ect
It'll have been 4 days since I watered left... I'll check in the morning but I think its about time for that soil to get wet.
I just don't know what to feed it.
I've got a gallon of tap water thats been sitting these past 4 days.
A gallon of spring water
and a gallon of distilled water.
I'm really tempted to feed it nutes just to see what happens but I don't wanna kill it so maybe I'll be able to resist...

what flowering day are you in now pal?

KL4D4
03-18-2007, 03:55 AM
27th day of flowering as of today, the 19th. This means I began on the 19th of Feb.
The leaves still look to be in bad shape... if it is infact PH problems. I watered with a combination of Spring and Tap water from my house which balanced out to a nice PH. I hope they don't get too bad on me cause other wise it'd effect my harvest :(
The lights on the main buds are about 1/4 of an inch a way, the fan is directly in front of it so it works out very nice. I tied some of the lower branches up with string to other branches in hopes that they'll get a better result from the closer proximity to the light. Since a lot of fan leaves are falling off and the smaller ones on the branches there is more light being distributed through the canopy. The buds with the lights even closer have honestly begun to get much denser. The leaves are fatter than the ones at the bottom not as wispy if you will. So I'm a stronger believer now!
I dunno what else to say...

African huh stop teasing me... i dunno dude it came from good smoke that smelled skunk to death and the buds now smell so clean and sweet amazing.
The top buds are actually getting big. I still haven't pegged the yellowing... I tried just plain ole water without ph solution added to it... we'll see what happens but maybe an early harvest will be cool I'd rather have a high than a stoned.... but um pocket micrscope must get.....drool....
Re-vegging the entire plant is it practical.... can you just leave a few branches on or what? Other wise I have 2 very very small branches with a bud on it at the budding does that sound like a good idea to try and re- veg the smallest ones? I can post pictures i anyone would like to give me a guess... plants are sleeping right now however so I can't take em now....

Well there is def more than 150w in there... 4-42w in there right now and 1- 26w) I have 3-26w "cool bulbs" just sitting around right now... I used to have those 2 of those where the new 42's went. So i no longer have a balanced color spectrum. But for the past 30 some odd days I had.
Watered today again... wish I could stop my plants leaves from looking soo terrible.... 37 days into Flowering I believe I need to get my hands on some sort of means to view the trics, I'm very curious if they are plain now or if any of them are looking cloudy. I'm excited though the buds that have been getting the most light thus far look very very nice and the smell is soo shitty that its amazing. Skunk, put crisp, clean, almost sweet.

So I figure the next water I give it should be a flushing one, or should I water it with molasses this time and then wait to flush in maybe 6 days or so when I figure harvest will be a better option to consider. I'm just not sure which way to do it? Then again I'm sill trying to figure out whether or not having excess fructose basiclly, in the buds at then end for its final days.
I think some of the trics on my bud are going cloudy right now 49 days in.
This:
[attachment=o129605]
- is the bud I used to examine which actually fully mature with white pistils still but getting close. The buds closer to the top are going to be farther alone by this general logic.
I radically adjusted my lighting setup with my CFL's to promote the 2ndary growth. It will be very intresting to see what happens to the lower buds I took a 42w 3000k CFL bulb and put it were I had a 26w 6500k bulb, which I put into the top of the canopey.

At the same time the pop corn buds still have some time to go, so is it hurtful to simply snip off some of the buds and leave some of the others on the plant?

i saw those bananas like a week ago and I said. That look like a little out of place, but was like hmm and looked it some more and just convinced myself that it was normal because I saw the resin coating on the pod and it had pistils growing out of it. I'm glad I didn't clone this plant, though I'm sorry its mutt genes have to die. I don't think stress was the reason why it went hermie because I had two fans blowing in the room one the lights and for general air circulation, the temps rarely went about 79 degrees it all of a sudden jumped from 30 degrees outside to over 70 in a couple of days so things got a little warmer here at the end for the past 2 weeks I'd say. I also released C02 and sealed the grow area as well. Just a bad seed I think. But it was a blast growing!
So for now most of the main buds are off. some are hanging and some i put directly into jars. I'll see which drys best.
Even if I got a ripe seed from it, it'd be a hermie plant anyways so whats the point? Should I continue to let this plant grow its pop corn buds some more or just take it out, they all have a decent coating of resin. At the same time look at the last two pics I posted zoomed in and tell that doesn't look like decent bud guys haha :jointsmile:

And smoked the other 2 with other various friends, microwave'n weed woo-wee!
But no more of that! I have some buds in that mason jar that I posted with brown paper bag put inside the sealed jar. I'm hoping that this isn't going to effect the taste ect by being in the mason jar while still so fresh? Maybe someone can answer me that.
4 more branches with tops and popcorns are are hanging via a tac in the dark air flowing closet drying. There are maybe 5-6 more main buds on the plant still and then all the little stuff from in between with the added power of the larger flowering bulb that had been being used for flowering. So I'm excited if you couldn't tell by me posting this much rambling!

Tried taking some of the stuff which i think dried too fast into hash shifted a bunch of stuff down but in the end there was still plant matter which is sad.

congratulations on your harvest and enjoy the smoke. You mentioned growing white russian, I have heard good things about it and am growing it myself at the moment. 22% THC and allegedly the strongest plant. Let us know the final weight

Sealed jars are for curing only. Otherwise, it simply won't dry properly, and has a very large chance of growing mold. Before you put it into a sealed jar, you should make sure it is completely dry (a stem should snap, not bend).
Good job growing the plant, unfortunately it seems you ruined it, by making it into hash with vegetative matter, microwaving buds, drying them in sealed jars, etc... Oh well, we all learn from our mistakes, and like I said, as far as growing the plant, you did an amazing job and I learned a lot.

Oh yeah, here's a simple method to fix your ruined hash. This time, it actually requires a sealed jar, haha. Anyway, on with my story:
fill about 1/4ths of it with ice cubes. Then fill with water, but not all the way to the top, because otherwise it will overflow, when you put your ruined hash in it.
Put your ruined hash into it (it's better if you didn't press it first). Shake until all of the ice cubes are melted. This can be time consuming, but it's making things nice and cold, and all of the plant matter is being separated.
Let it settle for about a half hour. Open the jar. At the top of the jar is all of your plant material. Skim it off. Use a spoon, whatever, just get it off. Some people like to then let it re-settle for a little bit, just to be sure to get all of the vegetative matter off of the top, which is easy to do.
Then, get a coffee filter, and something to hold it secure. Then, pour the entire contents of your sealed jar into the coffee filter. Once all of the water drains through, you are left with amazing water hash. You can squeeze the coffee filter together, to get the moisture out, and collect your hash. And then obviously enjoy.
