Has anyone here ever played GEARS OF WAR on LIVE?

my friend got this game and system for christmas and i ventured over to his house today and he flipped it on...and i was COMPLETELY blown away.

it has been a long time since a game has knocked me on my ass...usually im like..

'eh thats ok'
'this is alright'
'id be really cool if you could do this...' etc

but he..at a hyper pace..showed me aspects of this game..and im a cs source player...and this game on LIVE made me..baffled...the chainsaws and the torquebows the sticky grens and the weaponbutt melees and the shotguns..the graphics...blind fire behind barriers use of cover and rolling..gren aiming style..the way the soldiers look...

top notch stuff...best thing ive seen in a while...mind i knew Of gears of war for a long while..but had yet to see it...and now...

fuck 360, it's all about PS3..........360 is just xbox with some graphic upgrades, a lot of the games look only minorly better than the original xbox..............but a lot look way better...........but PS3 kills it..........

Acttually you have that mixed up the PS3 looks only a little better than the PS2
The 320 looks alot better and it's only the beggining of the realeases it will only get beter!


Edit: Hey notansfer try black hawk down on box live, it's on the first xbox. The gravity affects the bullets and shit, also I think it can go up to 50 people playing at one time on huge maps

PS3 is the exact same thing as the Xbox360+blueray (whatever the fuck that does)+a WII.. come on.. they only released it because they had to.. they lost fair and square, and ended up stealing the compition's ideas and making it into one.. whoop-dee-doo..

both who are trying to say the other is barely any better then it's predecessor are wrong...

the ps3 is a huge step above ps2 and the xbox 360 is a huge step above the xbox... you're just too caught up in 'the fued' to really take the time to look at it... look at gears of war, that shit is amazing... look at some of the games (i'm pretty fucked atm, so i can't think of an example, except to go to playstation.com, click on ps3 and play the F1 racers vid.... really gives you an idea of what it's capable of) on ps3....

both are far more advanced then their predecessors... personally i will be getting a ps3, but that doesn't mean i don't see xbox as a 'worthy opponoent' .... i just happen to like have really good experience from sony... and like a love a good 25% of the games already out on it, and really like another 20, and am intrested in about another 10.....

everyone has their system, and sony is yet to dissapoint me... so im sticking with what has worked so far...


anyways, dude... welcome to next gen gaming... it's only going to get better too... (pop in one of those old ass games that were released with either ps2 or xbox, and then pop in one of it's later games... as time goes on, everything improves GREATLY...)

btw, i've never had any problem with a playstation breaking on me, or anyone i know (well there's a broke one in my drawer, but someone punched that one...) the xbox my brother got for christmas, a year or two ago had to be sent back to the company, cuz it didn't work, i've accompanied atleast a few people having to return xbox's and exchange them... and oh yeah, lets not forget when 360's first came out there were mass quantities of them that didn't even work... and the company was trying to say everyone is just stuck with them...

but that's your opinion.... because to me, i've done the research (fuck those gmaes that come on commercials, look up all the games that are out, or are slated to be out this year...) they're amazing... including the graphics..

btw, xbox 360 has been out for how long now? and ps3 is just now coming out.. 360 had a HUGE head start, so of course they have more and better games.. if they'd both come at the same time, it'd be about equal... and it would be to mere person prefrence, which system had more games you wanted to get/play..

i have over 600 dollars worth the games i want to get (10 games) and that's just as of last week.... i also HATE shitty games, i can't tell you how bad a shitty game pisses me off... those are the fucking GOOD games... (as of now they have atelast 49, that are either out or will very soon be out....)

I think there's been some really good points. I also think there are some fanboys that need to hit the trail or shut up. the bottom line is that both consoles are awesome. Both will have awesome games (most of them the same). People act like sony is selling a peice of junk. They're certainly not. Sony messed up the launch of the console, not the console itself. I know that might not make sense to some, but it's true.

Xbox, PS3 and the Wii are all here to stay. They're all getting newer games developed and all three aparently have enough fanboys to run suicide missions. howabout this, if you can't think of something good to say about the other console, then why post? It's clear you don't know Sh*t :thumbsup:

I must be the only one in this threa that really likes the Wii. It's certainly not as powerful as the other consoles, but the innovation is just outstanding. I've played the other two systems and they're awesome in thier own right, but I'm dying to get my hands on a Wii and give it a run.

meh, wii just isn't my style... even the games that nintendo puts out, they're just not my type of games... which is why i don't like the wii... not to mention the games i have seen so far for the wii are like really kid-like... it's a great system for families, but i'm the only one that really plays consoles... so there's no need to find a system that has an abundance of family-friendly games...

and call me lazy, but when i'm playing a game, i want to kick back and relax... not get an aerobics workout :p like i said before, sony has never let me down, and i don't think they're going to now... i already want half the games that are out on it or will be out within the year..
