All the pics I see have one branch on one side then another branch a little further up on the opposite side. I am growing Nirvana's Chrystal and I have branches on both sides but at the same node. Did that make sense? Is this normal for some strains?

Hi SLOW... GREAT OBSERVATION!!!
When a plant is YOUNG... it has symetrical nodes....
As a plant matures (3-6 weeks) it starts to have ALTERNATING NODES....
you made a very good observation!!!
Many growers believe that you can not FLOWER a plant until the plant (reaches maturity) has ALTERNATING NODES... this is not true.... you can flower a plant any time YOU want... :)
There are also NODES called SECONDARY NODES (or secondary growth)... these are nodes on branches that come off the MAIN branch/stalk.... secondary growth starts with symetrical nodes and then eventually has alternating nodes TOO..
lloveyou
and NOW you KNOWM

Thanks for the info GN. Does the maturity of the plant have any effect on clones? Can I take clones from immature plants? I took some a few days ago (not going well, first try...oh well).
Thanks again for the info.

Yes, you can take clones from immature plants..
1. did you use cloning gel or powder
2. are you using a plastic dome to keep in moisture
3. what is your cloning medium
4. did you use wilt spray
cheers

Hey GN,
I used the shoebox wick cloner from a DIY on this site. Of the 10 clones I tried, 3 survived. I just replanted into soil and of the three: 1 had no roots, 1 had a few and the third had many healthy roots. I know where I messed up though. I had temp issues. I tried again last night and also did some direct to soil. My 7 week olds (from seed) were big enough to take two more clones each. I did use shultz's cloning powder but no wilt stuff.
Thanks for the input. By the way, if you have a sec could you please check out my sulfur question in the basic grow section? Thanks tons.
PS...Where is the spell checker on this thing???
