first time growing Q's

hypothetically speaking, I have a few questions sort of.

my location is an attic closet, a non insulated 3rd floor attic closet. This means the area is very succeptible to temperature changes. I plan on insulating it soon, if it still does get the right temperature i was considering putting a heat lamp or two in there. I was also thinking about runing a fan to take air out of my room and into the hypothetical grow room. What are your suggestions about this dilemma?

another Q is will 4800 lumens of daylight cfl lighting per plant be sufficent for the flowering process?

its the homemade odor neutralizer, can someone point me to an exact example of what air fresher product to use, I am a little confused on the part. if i put a couple of these in there and outside the grow room do you thnik i will have to have an outake fan/vent in the room going out the window, or will they take care of it really good.

Hey Geco, let me see if I can point you in the right direction here.

1) Depending on your budget theres a few options you have. You can buy a type of insulation from home depot or lowes that has mylar on the outside of it. Once you put this up you should be okay as long as everything is light/air tight. If you have the money, you should buy a HPS grow light. I suggest a low wattage one, maybe 150w, only because its your first time and your GOING to make mistakes. When that lamp is on it should keep your grow space at the right temp.....granted that you have adequate air circulation. If you could somehow run air from your room to the grow space I think that would be an excellent idea.

2) I've seen plenty of people grow their plants from start to finish with those spiral CFL's. It's true, it's not the best way, but I know plenty of people who use that method and have very good results from it, just make sure you have about 6-8 of them for flowering. 3) I have read over that thread with the DIY odor nutrilizer and it seems like a pretty good idea. I would suggest that you just install a carbon filter to your venting system, its really the best way, then you could make one of those DIY fresheners just to throw off any suspicions. As far as what you put in the freshener it tells you right in the article what you can use.

4) I do suggest however, before you start that you read a book on the basics of growing MJ. Theres a great book that goes over everything, the book is called "Grow Great Marijuana" by Logan Edwards. If your not savy on buying books then I suggest reading as many of the threads on this great website that you can. There are so many knowledegable people on this website, and a wealth of information.
