My school used to have a policy where drug use was only punished or investigated if one was intoxicated on school property... now, keep in mind that my "school" is a graduate program at a large university. We are all adults with college degrees.

But, now we can be punished (including dismissal) for offenses committed OFF-CAMPUS, in the privacy of our own homes, even when we are not at school! And, any misdemeanor crime *can* (but not necessarily will) be cited by the administration in any academic hearing. Whether it has anything to do with your direct school performance or not.

EEEEEEEEEK!

That's fucked up. I used my universities email to register for this site. I highly doubt they care unless it is on their grounds. That sounds really harsh.

Look into the laws of your country

In Canada it is LEGAL to Smoke dope, and legal to be high.

It is illegal to possess weed.

You school is trying to punish you for being high, is that illegal?

If not, bend them over!

I don't know why anyone would choose to drink pepsi, but don't company's have to have a better reason for firing someone... I mean I can understand if he was wearing coca-cola clothing on Fox News and drinking a Pepsi...

That is like saying wal-mart employee's have to do all there shopping at that store. God forbid they buy a decent t.v. from bestbuy.

That IS fucked up. Why does it matter to them what you do on your own time? I would even argue that they shouldnt care if you show up to school high off whatever. A university degree is a university degree, if you are able to achieve one while being stoned all the time- all the better to you.

I feel this inexplicable urge to go on an American bashing rampage right now...but I am not certain that this doesn't exist in Canada. Regardless, that is FUCKED UP!

well it's true....

shit like this happens all the time... this is just someone who decided to create waves and make it national news... just think about all the people this has happened to that didn't think it'd do any good?

btw if i remember right, he was drinking pepsi while either in a delivery truck, or on his break in one of the factories.. i can't remember which, but i do remember it was something as retarded as that... he definately wasn't seen on national tv doing so...
