to the mods- i know this thread isnt about weed, and im sorry, but this is serious and i dont know what to do.
abot 3 weeks ago, i found my stepdads pain killers. he had surgery about a year ago, and never took any of the pills. ive taken vicodin, and oxycodone before, but its bad now. ive been dry due to a lack of money for about a month. i took about 60 mg of the painkillers daily to get messed up. this started about two weeks ago. i was talkin to a friend about it, and he said that wasnt good at all. i tried to see if i could stop today, and im just feeling shitty. depressed actually. i get angry at people for nothing, and all i can think about is taking more. my friend has a connection who will trade pills for weed, and im going to do that. how long will this last and will it get worse?

just stop... doesn't matter if it happens now or later stopping is going to be miserable... so get it over with now before you do anymore damage.

yeah man, i was recently on prescription anti depressants, 100mg for a month, not good, was difficult to get off em, id recommend you stay with a good friend for a while, away from your place and your stepdads pills, just see if u can crash for a few nights, someone who knows you very well and who knows your situation, someone who knows that you dont mean all the hurtfull shit youll no doubt be saying soon, depending on what type of pill it is (write down the medical name for it, it should be on the box, and ill tell you more info), depending on what it is it might take a couple of days..... i also recommend you try and stay with someone you dont know harmfull secrets about, say u slept with a mates girlfriend or sister and he dont know, if u hangout with him in this state you may let it slip..... so be carefull bout shit like that
good luck man

You're right that this isn't really a topic we're supposed to go into here, but I'm going to move it to medical and ask that folks don't go into any further detail about pill names and such and see if we can at least get you some feedback.
You mean you're going to trade weed so you can take more pills? Or you're going to try and switch back to weed and get off the pills?
Get off those pills. Seriously, your friend was right. And the fact that you're already jonesing for more means you've triggered your addiction genes already. Those medicines are highly addictive. And if you're wise, you'll endure the moodiness and short-tempered periods you're in now and get past that and leave that crap alone. Don't buy or sell them. Don't take more. Tell folks around you that you need them to keep those things away from you and behind lock and key.
Addiction doesn't generally get better on its own. Ever watch the show "Intervention" on A&E? Check it out and see what happens to those pill folks down the road. You're risking your liver, your brain, your sanity, your budget, your freedom, and your future. If you keep taking them, you'll simply begin to require heavier doses and feel worse if you try to stop. Somewhere down the road, maybe if you're lucky, someone'll get you into rehab. That's why it's better to stop now.
It's important that you look at why you feel the need to take something to get "messed up." A recreational high from weed is one thing. But taking highly addictive painkillers is getting into another area entirely, and weed, as you know, isn't going to hook you like painkillers will. You already know this is the beginning of a potentially serious problem or you wouldn't have posted this thread. That recognition is the same thing as taking Step 1 in the great drug/alcohol addiction heirarchy--admitting you have a problem. Now it's time to look at doing something about that problem, and if you need to go to 12 step meetings while you're going through the detox part of withdrawal and getting back on your feet, do that. There's help to be had, and it's better if you get it sooner than later.
Seriously, get off that crap. You're not looking at a happy outcome if you keep that up. You already know this.
