I finally seen Saw III and whoa...I don't know, words can't explain it. All I know is you gotta watch it high, maybe not. Some probably can get into this movie sober but I can't get into fiction when I'm sober because the fact that it's fake always makes me unattracted to it lol...anyways that movie really made me think about life and it was really a movie that really made me cringe. I couldn't believe it because movies usually don't get any emotion from me unless it's really good but out of all the devices Saw III has to have the best and most sickest. When you really try to picture your self as the person in the trap it's just trippy. It's just a crazy ass movie, if you've seen it then discuss. If not then go see it! Rent it do what ever! :stoned:

I watched saw 1 (I almost said "I saw saw..." and that didn't sound right), and never got the urge to see saw 2. I know it's supposed to be better, but the 1st was just all over the place. I'm sure I'll see it, but I just never watch that many movies. In fact, other than HBO, I haven't watched any movies.

Ya, I know it's old but I never really wanted to see it because Saw II just totally let me down. It wasn't half as good as the first but it was alright. But I was on Amazon and it was just a new release and I said "what the hell" and decided to "get it" :D.

Like I said, I never saw the other two, but maybe you just got used to the same thing. It seems saw is known for it's creative means of violence, but there's really only so many times you can see someone get fucked up till it's all the same.
The faces of death movies did the same thing to me once. The 1st one I saw blew my mind. By the time I saw 2 or 3 more, I was over it. I'm sure that all three saw movies are pretty good, there's just other movies I want to see more than saw 2 or 3. If I can get caught up on those then maybe...

Maybe it was the dumb cops in saw 1 that hurt it for me. If I had been danny glover, jigsaw would be one dead old man. The dudes chair switched on and both cops turned retarded for some reason. Fucking shoot the power cord and get on with it. Could have stopped it all right there, but oh well. Then there wouldnt have been more movies and this thread wouldn't exist.

^Agreed.
The first one was good, that's it. Anyone can piece together a bunch of random gruesome traps and call it a movie. Fuck the last one was TERRIBLE. The boners behind these movies need to realize they've become the biggest joke in hollywood and STOP releasing Saw movies every Halloween. ~
first one was good because its original. if you havent seen the first and see the second it would be good. the problem is they are all the same. i havent seen three but i can assume. and plant i cant tell is that still i swedish proverb or not?

I liked the first two. You can break it down anyway you like...but they were entertaining and intense movies to watch.
Each filmed opened at #1...and each of the movies grossed over $100+ million dollars. Biggest joke in Hollywood? LOL. Number 4 is already in the works for those who don't know...so there's another $100 million...damn these guys are fucking retards..when will they learn.
Anyway...I'm about to watch 3 now...we shall see.

The saw series have def cleaned up pretty well, but I'm assuming you're talking about $100M oppening weekend. 100m isn't very much at all for gross figures of a holly blockbuster. They prolly spent twice that marketing the 1st movie alone.
Saw is one of the recent 'net popular' movies. They get spread around the net and accross message boards and it gets hyped up as the best movie ever even before a trailer is put together. Also, the writers and creators of the movies are known to browse the message boards looking for how they can make it better. I think this is one of the reasons it's done well. I'm just not big on sequels I guess unless it's all one whole story (like kill bill or LOTR).

Neither am I. And that's what I don't like about the "Saw" series. Odds are that it was supposed to be a one-time thing, then they realized how popular it was, so they *poorly* attempted to attach the story lines to cash in and sell out.
Come on, some random relative pops out of nowhere to come to her uncle's rescue, thus prolonging the dreadful series?? Garbage. It's a joke as far as I'm concerned. Then again, most of hollywood is now-a-days.
Then, from what I remember, most of the 2nd and 3rd movies are just the most horrific traps loosely pieced together with tacky dialogue and *BAM*, America eats it up. So much, in fact, that a new movie comes out every Halloween. Jeesh, makes me embarassed to be a Yank..
Just my opinions, but it's tasteless stuff like this that drives me bonkers :p

See that's why I didn't really care for the 1st one I think. I was expecting a seven type movie where they really got into the killers head and such, but saw 1 was just them retelling his shenanigans with bits of another story in between. Obviously it's not realistic, but saw is almost over the top like final destination that I just can't make myself keep watching the silly sutff go one that would never happen in real life.

Sequels are never really good...especially if they are not planned with the first. But...hey...even us knowing that...we all watched all three movies. Whether or not we liked them..we still took the time to see what was going to happen next. And we will all see Saw 4 at some point too...no doubt.
I know how you feel about 'just throwing it together' because it was popular. Fair enough...we can all agree with that. I am entertained with a lot of little things about these movies (by the way I'm halfway through 3). Great camera work...the creativeness of the devices (must be a sick fuck to think of some of that shit lol)...intense scenes...good effects...crazy amount of detail...just the overall look of the sets are cool.
Of course they can't piece everything together..there's just too much detail to pay attention to. Maybe they should have made them even a bit simpler..but I dunno..If I'm entertained...I don't care about anything else. That's just me though. You won't catch me really nit-picking through everything to find mistakes. My dad is like that though...finds everything that is possibly wrong with movies...I say...just take it as it is...no movie is perfect. Look at what they did well...rather than what they missed or didn't think of.

Pretty good. I can't see how it's better than the second...but that's just me. Definitely some very intense elements. Once again...it all 'in a way' comes together in the end...which you can expect from all of them...I think that's one of the cool things about 'em. Here we come Saw 4 I guess...
