453dude howd you get 453?, I know down here in San Diego when you buy a pound you get like 455. You get the pound sealed up, but then a little quarter or so just to sample. I guess so its safewr to transport sealed (odor) than to break open a LB just for a few bowls.

1 ounce = 28.3495231 grams
28.34 x 16 =  453.44
455 sounds about right :D

As a person who works in education, I am appalled by the lack of math skills in the kids today! I have 8th graders who cannot do long division! Adding fractions? And when it comes to proper spelling...Fergit it! We are raising a generation of uneducated sheep! (Of course, from a government's point of view, sheep are so much easier to lead, fleece and slaughter- so it's all good- for them.) Get educated! Don't depend on the schools to teach you what you need. Read, learn and survive!

i think the discrepency (idk how to spell it?) is that the "technical" definition of an oz is 28.35grams, and the basic street definition of it is just 28 grams.
so doing
28.35x16=453.6g
28x16= 448g

Does it really matter? If you are buying a pound, do you really care about a few grams?
But do answer your question, I usually see them sold as about 450, just because its a nice round number. If you get somewhere in that ballpark, youre fine..
