I need help on starting my grow.

I have a DWC system with some rapid rooters and hydroton balls. I also have a scale, a PH control kit, GH 3 part, and they threw some magic green in for free. My questions are how much and when should I put nutes in, how should I balance them, and what does magic green do. I have pics but I don't know how to post them. Please help. Thanks. ~PM~

Here's the picks of what I have. GK no I don't have a ppm meter I was told it's not Necessary it's just an accessory. Oh yeah what do you guys think is better a 400w MH or a 400w HPS and what about the magic green and balancing the nutes. Thanks.

if you can only afford one, get the hps, but idealy you'd want mh for veg and hps for flower...

get some fluoro tubes for veg, t5's if you can find them a mh isn't completely neccessary for veg, but an hps is for flower, ebay will be your best bet for low prices but there are manyyy places on the web to buy from.

did the set up come with instructions... "how much nutrients to add?"..

I don't know how you can grow aeroponics or hydroponics without a ppm meter... you need this meter to measure the amount of nutrients in your water... unless, this system you purchased has come with some sort of perfect daily instruction booklet regarding FEEDING..

I used the same exact nutes for awhile and I just followed the instructions on the back.

the link above is what i bought as my first light, I searched around and found that to be a good deal. this way you get both lights. The qaulity of the product was fine. in fact I went on to purchase 2 1000w switchables from the same place. One had a malfunction in the wiring half way through my 12/12 cycle and after calling the store and explaing my situation this guy next day aired me a replacement at no charge and just asked me to return the piece that was broken and I could keep the extra parts, which included the 2 bulbs that came with it. I feel bad because I never sent that piece back and he shipped it out immediatly, so maybe if I refer you to him it will take away some of that bad karma................ wow i'm rambling. And he's aslo in PA so shipping would be dirt cheap.

Thanks socialistpete but thats a little out of my price range for now but I might get that. I'm just gonna get a 400w MH bulb set (everything) from this store here in philly for $139.99. Don't the 99 cent kill ya? LOL. Oh is that a good proce. I think so.
