ok guys so my plants finally sprouted, they are 2 n a half days old. i went to wal mart tonight. i bought some clay pots. 6 inch i think or 8 inch. anyways i bought some miracle grow potting soil with moisture control. i got a box of bone meal and two 26 watt daytime cfl's. so im gonna transplant my seedlings tonight and water em. anyone know when i can give em a little bit of bone meal?i will post pics either a lil later or tomorrow morning. any advice?

yah the miracle grow potting soil feeds the plants for up to 3 months it says? should i not use any ferts at all? will it burn the roots if i put some bone meal in there in a few weeks? also where can i get the 40 watt cfl's?

HI Bluntman..

you should not add anythig to MG soil (no nutrients, no bone meakl, no nothing!),.. It has plenty of crap in it already.. You should also pH your water higher than normal... 7.0-8.0

The MG you bought has a pH of 5.0 (I am 99% sure)


You will want to get the 42 watt CfLs from wal mart or home depot.. they cost about 8-10 dollars....

garden, thank you very much for ur advise. i saw a 150w mercury vapor lamp at the hardware store for $27. should i get it? or get a 70w hps? but its more expensive. and also yes i will get the 42 watt cfl's in a few days. i was looking for a ph tester at wal mart but they didnt have any in the garden section. thanks for ur advice guys! ill post pics tomorrow evening.

hmmm the pics will have to wait till tomorrow morning. i dont got a camera so i take pics with my cell and the sprint website is down for maintinence. so mercury vapor is no good huh? saturday i will go get more of the daylight cfl's. so i should be good till saturday. i got a few of those adapters that screw into light sockets so u can put 2 light bulbs in one socket. thats it for now imma go pass out. peace yall

ok heres number 2. i filled the pots up the rest of the way with soil. second set of leaves are just barely starting to come in. day 4 for both plants. i'll post pics again in 3 or 4 days.

Hi Blunt

Those CFLs will do a great job for you.. keep them less than 1 inch from your plants and have a fan blowing air gently on your plant and lights...

The plant will begin to grow very very fast so you will need to move/adjust your light every day..

hey garden thanks for stoppin by! it sucks not havin any money cuz i wanna go get more cfl's. :( o wel ill get some monday. ok so plants are 5 days old. they look pretty much the same so im not gonna post any pics.i got some bone meal at walmart last week when i bought my soil and pots. is bone meal good? i heard it was. im going back to my old house and bringing one of my dressers here in the next couple of weeks. im planning on turning a 5 foot tall dresser into a grow cab/clone chamber. is there a way u can order seeds online without a credit card? maybe a money order or something? thanks guys for all ur help. i hope the second set of leaves will be in by tomorrow, if so i'll post pics. peace.

Hello Mr. Blunt..

The tip is probably being burned because of the nutrients found in MG soil...

It will probably not be a big deal.. DO NOT add NUTRIENTS! NOT yet at least...

Keep the soil moist for the first 7-10 days... Seedlings have fragile roots...

Since you are using CFLs, you can flower when yo have 4-5 nodes.. and I reccomend it!

hey garden. thanks again for stopin by and spreading some knowledge, its really appreciated. thats what i was thinking, that the burn is from the mg soil. i didnt think it was my lights cuz they are about 1.5 inches away from the plants and i used the 'back-of-the-hand' method. i'm only going to veg for 3 weeks due to limited space. i still need to buy a ph tester and a light timer. i've had my lights on 24/0. i will post pics tomorrow evening. thanks everyone and plz keep my thread alive! one love.

they look great so far.. hence y no one is posting.. but had there been a question im sure it would have been answered by now..
but i have sum advice.. when using cfl's it is crucial that u keep em extremely close to the plants like 1 inch or less away.. i really couldnt tell how far they are away..

hey notorious thanks so much for stoppin by and giving some inout. yah i dont have a camera and my fone doesnt take that good of pics, but the light is about an inch to 1.5 inches away from each plant. i was told that the burn on plant no.2 was from the miracle gro soil but it will be ok as long as i dont fert any time soon. also i was told not to fert until i go to 12/12. am i ok with the four 26w cfl's and the 13w cfl?

ya you should ask her it is never cool to grow under someones nose. if somethinghappens and you get discovered by the police she gets in trouble also.
never give information that can identify you. that could cause a real problem. but ya get politicaly active. oh ya i would not recomend telling your cousin that you are growing he may be a relative but he is also law enforment you might not like his responce.

ha i havent been on here in like 3 days and noone even left any comments. gay..... anyways i got two 42w cfls tonight. so now im usin two 23w cfls and two 42w cfls. i got 2 rubbermaid totes and im gonna set em up here in a lil bit. oo i also got some tomato seeds and some catnip seeds :)

ok now i have two 10 gallon rubbermaid totes stacked on top of each-other. im goin to lowes in bout an hour or so to get a 75w hps. so with the cfl's and the hps i should get some decent sized buds. my temps are 84 farenheight and 21% humidity. my electronic ph tester says the ph of the soil is about 7. so i think im all good. questions comments concerns?

lol ok guys heres the pics ive been promising. lol sorry i kinda been busy building houses n what not. my 2 babies are 18 days old. i forgot to take a p[ic of plant no.2 but they both basically look the same. i added 2 tablespoons of bonemeal to each plant today and watered them. the PH red about 6.8 - 7. i got an electronic ph and fertilizer tester from lowes. i also ordered a 150w hps from the internet which should be here within a week then i can start to flower. within the next gew days im gonna start lst. and im gonna go to lowes and get 1 1/2" chicken wire or whatever so i can SCROG to get multiple colas. im excitd
i think im gonna have the 150w hps and two 42w cfl's in the cab for flowering. tomorrow evening (if i get a chance) i will post pics of my 2 new rubbermaid containers that i stacked on top of each other. im so excited about my hps. do u think i will get some nice fat buds with a 150w hps and two 42w cfls? thats like 234w of light for the 2 plants i have. that should do right? hopefully. anyways. post some comments poeple. or else im not gonna have a grow log anymore. no disrespect or anything, its just no use havin a grow log if noone helps me or posts any comments and tells me how im doin lol. remember guys, this is my very first grow since i was like 12 and my 4 inch plant got ate by my old dog. p.s both plants are very very short and compact/bushy. almost like the cabbage strain. the 3 nodes are online like a millimeter ir 2 apart. i'll take a side pic tomorrow if i get a chance.

hey kd! thanks for stoppin by bro. im broke now since i ordered a 150w hps online last night. so i cant really get bigger pots for another 2 weeks or so. but my hps should be here within a week i hope. i ordered it from Light Bulbs, Rope Lights, Halogen & Fluorescent Light Bulbs (http://www.1000bulbs.com) comes with ignitor ballast some other thing and mouting hardware. ill post a pic of it. i added 2 tablespoons of bone meal to each pot the other day, i have yet to check on em. when my hps gets here im gonna start to flower/lst. hehehe im so excited. i just pray they aint males/herms cuz ive fucked with there light schedule a lil bit.


p.s do i just have to wire this ballast and ignitor together then screw the bulb in? i got it all for $60.00
