It doesn't hurt if they nip you does it? I thought it was just a sticky pad that trapped the flies, then they closed their "mouthes" and digested it.

well the little spikes are kinda hard... so i can only imagine what they'd feel like when they get bigger, but at this small, no it doesn't hurt... but they can put quite a bit of pressure down lol i underestimated their closing power <.<

My cousin has somethin like a venus fly trap, cant remember what they were called but just looked like long ass tubes and the fly where suppose to fly down em.. one fly sat on it, on like the side.. but never acctually went in it, what a disapointment that was, well.. until my cuz rolled us up a spliff from his personal stash of heaven :D

Cool plants man! I'd have a good time feeding it random things. A fly, or a piece of a rubber eraser, would it eat it notice the difference and eat it anyhow? :p I don't know how one of those work, so you feed the thing through the trap, or you feed the soil?

from what the package says just keep the soil moist and give it indirect sunlight everyday.. doesn't require fertilizer (it says if you WANT to once a month you can give it really diluted fertilizer) erm, every four times one of those pods close the pod dies (new ones grow) as they die and turn black, you have to pick them off and throw 'em out... that's about it lol...

and no we don't have flies (damnit where are those little annoying fuckers when you need them???) but we gots plenty of those little baby roaches, you know the ones that aren't much bigger then the tip of a pen... i been giving it some of those..

cfl's are like a buck now,,,just put in an ordinary lamp and put it above the plant... I think a black light will work but I know one of the 5 watt twisty bulbs will def work...

Guess I should have removed the cheese,pickle and special sauce.
No they dont have emough presure to do any damage. you can hardly feel it even when they are bigger.

i dunno that shit looked real to me.. just time lapsed... which animation CAN mean time lapse... one of the links off that link that skink provided talks about those little plant balls that spin, but the link says it happens over hours... as you can see in the video, those things are spinning like every few seconds.... which is what first tipped me off that it was probably time lapsed...

i don't care either way... how sick of a smoking spot would it be where all the vegetation is 'looking' at you and moving around right before your eyes? ....i think i found a passion....exotic plants.. i've never read the whole thing of anything that anyone's posted a link to in wikipediea.. i'm not much of a reader.. but when i got done reading that link skink posted i was like "that's all?.... damnit!"
