I saw a thread the other day titled Hydro VS Organics. I did not post as this argument is as old as Methuselah. We could debate this for eons It pretty obvious that the water boys out yield the mud boggers in the world but my days of Grams per watt are long gone. I run the same strains over and over and my goal each run is to make slight changes in my soil make up to determine when fading starts. To soon and the plant is green at finish and lacks flavor although I notice yields are better. To little and the fade starts so early that all the leaves fall off and yields suffer. The perfect blend will allow fading early in week 6-7 and continue to week 8 and beyond.

I also would like to start a discussion on this thread.

I have noticed that plants like this that are literally done growing at harvest always taste better but more importantly are simply more dank! Healthy plants at the end are easier to trim and deff beefy but why is it a plant such as this that almost looks dead has such perfect reefer on it?

I have a theory you can laugh at. Its called infinite dankage, lets just say a plant has a determined amount of what we call dank. I donâ??t think I need to define this:smokin: It seems to me that a faded plant will produce less total mass there fore creating more dank per gram on the plant? Does this make any since. Have you ever grew a plant that was just sickly as hell all yellow and shit but have the bud from this plant taste better than normal? I am curious if others experience this?

If you havenâ??t guessed by now this is the Mother ship Apollo taken at 60 days the far end of her harvest window. This entire plant is head stash so I decided to make it as good as I know how.

I am smoking some scissor hash from trimming these upper nugs this am and I can tell you its as extreme as youd want. The first small hunk took my breath and pumped out 3 huge hits of almost perfume tasting hash. Itâ??s a bit like smoking channel #5 but there is also a fruity essence as well. A-13 make phenomenal Bubble is all I can say. It cannot be compared to anything I have ever smoked. As good as Vortex is, I prefer the bud smoke more than the mother, Momma still is the tops as far as resin is concerned it has a flavor and consistency like no other. Its shards up on scissors like clay or plumbers putty and has a deep red color.

Her downside is trimming. Imagine trimming this girl. I spend a good 4 hours on just the upper portion last night. The buds are covered in swirling curled sticky leaves that take loads of concentration and small scissors to clean up. I focus hard to remove all the sugar leaf as my main goal here is Bubble! I have noticed that actual sugar leaf makes the best hash. When I use pure bud I never get the same yields as with trim leaf. I think its almost a waste. So my buds get cleaned well to make more A-Bubble.

I cannot thank MP and Puff enough, these are people that wonâ??t ever read this but they returned her to me after a visit with leo and the world is a better place for it. There are those In my old circle that are actually pissed at me for breeding her and allowing others to sample her amazing gene pool. They prefer to keep it hidden in tiny circles where bigger ego contest are the motivating force. I would like to think those of you smoking Sputnik or Vortex or 3D would disagree what I did was a bad thing. For the record Astroboy was a mistake made with stray pollen while we made more Dannyboy. It wasnâ??t intentional until I was shunned for working with a cutting that came from a pack of seeds?
The rest is history, Vortex is as good or better ( Bubble excluded) and people from all over the globe enjoy her genetic traits.

Ok rants overâ?¦..

Lest discuss this infinite level of Dank theory?

so... this theory...

are you saying basically, you try to make soil that will run out of nutes at the right time, making the plant begin to 'eat' its leaves... therefore creating more potent buds, but slightly less yeild?...

makes sense to me...

the more faded the plant, the more faded the smoker...:D

but then again, its all about finding the perfect balance, after all, if increasing potentcy means decreasing yeild, you could be loosing out...

i think your definately onto something... and once you find the right balance, you will have the ultimate buds :) - especially with your strains ;)

thats definately something to ponder on a lonely night... l8a man...:) keep us posted...

I've been thinking about this for a while already... as far as I can figure, excessive chlorophyll in a finished plant does tend to mask the flavor of the resins.

Therefore, artifically inducing a nitrogen deficiency, which in turn causes chlorophyll to break down, allows for other compounds to become noticeable.

On top of improving the flavor, it also seems to allow the OTHER pigments- the reds and oranges and purples that everyone loves looking at- to show.

My first girl, Crystal, was fading by her 2nd week of being forced. Right now, as she's finishing up her process, she looks as close to death as possible. I'll let you know how the finished product tastes and how the high is. Hopefully, all will be wonderful. I think your dank theory makes absolute sense and I'll try to mock it during my future grows. Peace.

I have only done 2 crops and i let both turn yellow. The buds tasted sweet but i had none that were still green enough to compare. Id love to hear more on this. Mabee a bigger test is needed[or has been done], with an indipendant judge.
I dunno about the infinate dankage theory. It makes sense but at the same time Dosn't. Mabee to a certain extent a Ndef plant may think death is just around corner and make more THC whereas a healthier/greener plant dosnt feel it will die soon so continues as normal? Im just guessing here.

Im going to have to agree with you on that one. I have one guess on how that might be possible. The plant takes in nutrients from bottom to the top. when the plant is "sickly" yellow. Its because those parts have given all possible life to ensure those buds get the full potential health they need to survive. just my crazy added theory on that one :P stay blazin`

great information man. I have been reading your logs of BR X PPW from back in 05 on a different site. Do you know anything of this strain, does it still exist?! I heard doja was into it still ,thanks -kb
