How much is detectable?

I've read a lot about detectable levels and the type of test performed. As a gainfully employed citizen, I'm wondering how much an individual can consume before it becomes detectible. Or stated another way, How often a person can take a few tokes, with a few days off work, and pass a random test? Also the largest enemy of any stoner has to be tolerance to the herb, forcing one to require more to achieve the same level of buzz. I'm so clean I can catch a buzz just looking at everyone's pictures!!! Ideas?

Honestly, if you like your job... I would say don't mess around. I thought I was good 2 go for my last test, and failed. If you do smoke a little, I would go through a major detox period for at least 3 weeks before the test. I don't trust the masking or last minute detox products from personal experience.

From what I understand, testable levels can remain in the urine of occasional smokers for 3-10 days, up to 60 days for heavy users.

There are lots of factors that can influence this though... Since THC is stored in fat cells, if you are losingweight or exercise vigorously within a few days of testing, that could raise your levels.

Ya don't want to smoke right AFTER your test either... If low levels show up, but too low to be considered "positive" by industry standards, some places will test you again within a month or two.

Many newer tests test for masking/detox agents as well, and will flag you for it!

If your company goes to hair testing, they usually test about 1 1/2 inches of hair - about 3 months worth. Testing standards usually say there must be evidence of 3 occasions of use in the sample for it to qualify as positive.

Drug testing is a thorn in my side. If they want to check to see if people are under the influence WHILE they are working, I'm all for it. Anything else is A)irrelevant B) an invasion of privacy C) unAmerican

Those are great points, especially the final statement. If were not smoking at work, it is irrelavent.
But on the other hand, if you have medical benefits from a company, they do not want to end up paying for some lung disease because you smoke trees recreationally.

I am now a responsible adult, but I still want to smoke every now and then. I have a great job, but they do random drug testing. I guess they test 10 random people every three months (onsite) and if you get busted you are put on probation, but then have to piss for every random test for the next year.

Background info: I am 6' 180# and do aerobic excercise and lift weights every other day. Back in the day I smoked Oregon greed bud daily. This is a fact; I went from being a chronic greed bud smoker to passing a piss test in 16 days by chugging water, exercising daily, and taking niacin. On another occasion I was clean for a very long time. I then smoked green bud for 3 days straight. I chugged water, cranberry juice, niacin, sat in a sauna, and excercised daily. I was able to pass a piss test in 4 days.

I have been clean for too long:( . If I continue with my self-proclaimed healthy lifestyle, can I smoke on Friday night and be clean by Monday morning? Does anybody have factual evidence of passing a test in two days? What precautions did you take? I do not want to sit at my desk with a wizzinator in my pants for three days!!

Without being able to know a date..it would be hard to do. Before I've been aware of the date of my test...I smoked every day, lol. But the day of the test I just drank a shitload of water all day and pissed out only clear water all day..passed the test fine. That's the only advice I can give you aside from not smoking at all until you get a different job?

edit: any amount is going to be detectable...that's the target of drug tests...is marijuana.

I wanted to know how to smoke on Friday night and then pass a piss test Monday morning at work, if by chance there was a random UA waiting for me. I went through the following in order to pass a UA in 48 hours and I did pass. I got off work Friday (1/26) and had two big bong rips of some green bud around 7PM. I took a Walgreen's THC home kit on 1/28 at 7PM; it came back negative, but I am still going to send it to a lab. Here is how I did it:

First off- I have not smoked in 4 weeks and I exercise regularly.

:jointsmile: Friday night (1/26)-Got ripped, had a few beers, watched Jackass 2 with some friends.

:D Saturday (1/27)- Breakfast-oatmeal and large coffee; snack- banannas and apple; lunch- peanut-butter sandwich; 1PM-swam laps for one hour; dinner-small bowl of spaghetti. I stayed hydrated with water all day and drank 1 liter of cranberry juice throughout the day.

:p Sunday (1/28)- Breakfast-oatmeal and large coffee; snack- bananna, apple, granola bar; 1PM- lifted weights (full body workout) for 40 minutes, swam for 20 minutes, sat in sauna for 10 minutes; late lunch- only an Amp energy drink; dinner- 3 bean, tomato, and cheese burritos, almonds. I again stayed hydrated with water all day and drank 1 liter of cranberry juice throughout the day.

:o The test (1/28) at 7PM. I was pissing almost every 20 minutes over the last two days, but I did not want a completely diluted urine sample, because I really wanted to be sure of my method. I did not drink anything for over an hour and made sure it wasn't as easy for me to urinate. My urine was slightly yellow without taking any vitamins. I had a negative result for the preliminary. Ill keep you informed of the lab results.

On most tests the cut off point for marijuana is 50mg.

My friend recently went to the hospital because he took 3 addys then worked out and his heart rate stayed at 120. He got a UA at the hospital and smoked 2 days before that and was clean for pot.
