An anarchy, the only difference though, the lack of government and guidance only pertains to what you do to yourself, and your family. familiy matters are handled by the family. Family matters include EVERYTHING that one family member does to another.

But if you kill a person, then the town you live in becomes a giant jury against you and your punishment is figured out.

You can drink and drive and do all that stuff, but the punishment for taking a life while under the influence of anything(marijuana might be included or not) the punishment is Much MUch MUCh MUCH higher than if you just kill a person.

But you can put whatever the fuck you want in your body.

Now, no country in this day and age can live without a military. So I propose this. Another country does this, idthink it is sweden but I could be off.

First of all our form of government doesn't suck. It has been pretty damn successfull for the last couple hundred years and laid down a good framework for people to become successfull themselves. The people currently in power may be incapable of performing their duties, they may be ignorant to the issues most Americans are interested in, and they may have totaly fucked up Iraq, but that remains to be seen. Ten years form now we can take an objective look at things and how they turned out in the end. Who knows, 50 years from now W could be one of our greatest Presidents. It all depends on if he can fix things in Iraq and get back to fighitng the true enemy which is the ideaology of Wahabism and other militant Islamic groups like Hezbolah. FDR sent thousands of Jap's to "Internment Camps" and he is recognised as one of our greatest presidents ever. I personally don't like Bush I think it was a mistake to invade Iraq, but what do I know. For all I know they had weapons of mass destruction and were willing and able to sell them to militant islamic groups and they managed to get get them out of the country into Syria before the U.S. invaded. Time will tell.

People dislike America becuase we are brash, self-confident, take no bullshit, winners. People always love to hate who's on top. Jealous of America's wealth, power, and influence on the rest of the world. Many American's are lazy, fat, and stupid, but so are a lot of French people.

I myself would like to live in the south of Italy, Calabria, or somewhere in the Carribean(sp?) like Costa Rica(just kidding). I am a fisherman and I love warm weather and indigo blue water.

IMO Americians are for the most part great people (everyone I know anyways). They are controlled by their govt. Much like every other country. Every male is required(and females can if they choose to) to go into a training program when they reach a certain age. After the training program they are presented with their gun, and amnuition. Every so often they have to go back and repeat the program. If the country becomes under attack, we would have a plan developed to gather all male troops that are willing(how many wouldn't be to protect freedoms like that?)to fight and go to war.

Just sounds like a better country than any I could think of.

I have nothing against the American people, but one thing I do notice, is that the country isn't as one. It seems each state is its own country. You have Texas pride, Alabama pride, West cost pride, but where is the true American pride? People say it, but I don't see it. The states act independantly, not as a country.

All 1st world countries have those basic freedoms: press, religion, assembly, speech. Go to any country in Western Europe, and they share this same philosophy. This is bare minimum if you are a country claiming to have freedom. I don't find any of these traits special enough that we can claim bragging rights of freedom. America was the pioneer of these basic freedoms, but compared to the direction other 1st world countries are going, these privilages have become more restrictive and tracked. Regardless of the stance and spin on these issues, whether right or wrong, restricting access to information, and increases in oversight affects the USA's standing on freedom. Over the past 20 years, the US has gone that direction.

America's reference to "freedom" is economic freedom. Low taxes, less restrictive barriers to entry, equal opportunity education system. This here is what makes America great. DIY country.

Why are drugs, intoxicants so, awful, foul and vile in Islam?

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has described drugs together with all sorts of intoxicants as:

1. The key to all evils.

2. The head of all errors and lapses.

3. The most terrible of major sins.

4. The mother of all atrocities.

5. The mother of all evils.

Let us look at what the scholars have said regarding the effects of drugs:

Ibn Hajar Al-Makki narrates from some scholars that they are 120 harmful things occur by the consumption of drugs Not 10, not 20, but 120.

Also Ibn Sina said that large amounts of it dries up semen (The fluid that carries sperm thus rendering him incapable of passion in sexual intercourse).

Ibn-ul-Bitaar says: A group of people used it (drugs) and they became mentally deranged (insane).

Imaam Zarakhshee narrates in his book upon the prohibition of Hashish from Zakariyah Razee, a famous doctor, that consuming hashish causes headaches, desiccates semen, brings about confusion, Neurosis, dries up all body fluids which could cause sudden death. Also it defects the mind, induces hectic fever, and tuberculosis.

Ibn Taymiyyah (a renowned scholar) says: All the faults, blemishes, bad things in khamr (wine) are present in hashish and more. Because the majority of faults in khamr is sinful, but hashish is both sinful and harmful to the body.

"Khamr" comes from the root word "Khamara" which means "to cover." Thus anything that covers or hinders the mind is prohibited. This includes anything that alters the mind, such as marijuana, heroin, cocaine, Hashish and anything else that affects the mind.

Allah says :

"O You who believe, intoxicants, gambling, and the altars of idols, and the games of chance are abominations of the devil; you shall avoid them , that you may succeed." Qurâ??an (5:90)

Allah also says:

"They ask you about intoxicants and gambling: say, "In them there is a gross sin, and some benefits for the people, ( alcohol in medicine for example, cocaine in anesthesia and pain medications) But their sinfulness far outweighs their benefit. ........" Qurâ??an (2:219)

Islam is a religion that respects and protects faith, life, property (ownership) and the mind (intoxicants, among which is drugs). Normally in the brain there is an inhibitory control which tells us not to engage in shameful or wrongful acts. Any suppressant drug will suppress this nerve pathways and take away such restraint. Ability to make a judgement, to protect the body or honor, a quality for humans is taken away under as a result of drugs.

Allah says :

"O you who believe! Approach not prayers, with a mind befogged, until you can understand all that you say." Qurâ??an (4:43)

Allah also says:

"O you who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divinations by) arrows, are an abomination of Satan's handiwork: Avoid such (abomination) that you may prosper." Qurâ??an (5:93)

"Satan's plan is to sow enmity and hatred among you with intoxicants and gambling, and to hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you not then give up." Qurâ??an (5:93)

No easy solution can be offered to solve the problem of drugs. Forit is a multifactor problem and each aspect should be addressed individually, and seriously, both by the government and by the public. While the total ban on production, import and export is the ideal solution to create a drug free society, by experience it is difficult to achieve unless strict laws are made and enforced on drug producers, traffickers and offenders, a law, that sees distinction between the helpless victim and a powerful drug Lord.

Islam provides us Muslims with such laws to protect our morality and health. While we are trying to do these, we in the mean time should pay more attention to the needs of the victim (the one who takes drugs) by the education of the masses, social workers, law enforcements agencies and the physicians at the same time developing treatment. However this requires motivation and commitment from all of us. It is beyond the dignity of a human being to become dependent on drugs be incapable of serving himself

I take people that need rides to medical appointments
I have bought bags of groceries for those in need(still do)
I have bough boxes and boxes of diapers for kids.(still do)
I do volunteer with AIDS patients.
I have two kids
I have 3 grandkids
I have one dog
I teach music on a sliding scale, and free to those who just simply cant afford it any place else.
On fridays i usually hand out condoms and clean needles to hookers and addicts for a few hours.

I worked my ass off for years without complaining and am now retired at 50+ years old.(including 4 years of active military service and 2 years reserve)

They just spent over $2 mill to build up a new church down the highway from me. While these folk are enjoying the goods there are people hungry on the streets. Seems anti-religious to me.
