Before I found this board one of the things I ran across elsewhere was people saying that you should eat a light meal the day of the test. I started thinking about what I learned from this site about how those tests detect usage, and I put that together with what I know about how the body processes food, and I realized that advice may be so bad that it might be worth making an addition to the already fantastic dilution sticky.

In a nutshell, your body wants to spend as little energy as possible to process the food you eat. It will always prefer carbohydrates first, followed by protein, and finally the fat stored in your body. Anyone trying to lose a few pounds can vouch for that. Now with that being the case, I think you would want to eat a big carb-heavy meal to prevent your body from dipping into its fat reserves for energy. No fat burning, no metabolites leeching into your urine.

I'm by no means an expert on either topic, and it wouldn't be the first time that something which seems like common sense is totally wrong, so take this at face value. If anyone reading this happens to have training in nutrition I would definitely appreciate your opinion.

And with that, I'm off to take my test now.
