Out of all the females, I've definetely chosen the ultimate mother. I'm not going to just keep one mother, I'm going to veg clones for 2 months, and take 1-2 clones from each of them, and just repeat the cycle over and over again. I've decided to do this after reading through subcool's thread(s), as I believe this is his method, and it would make for more room on my veg table, and there will be a lot more head room in my veg area. Anyways, this smells great, for bagseed anyways. Licking my fingers after pruning is like licking sugar, it's really sweet bud, and I can't wait for it to be ready! I also can't wait for the 16 clones I have, from this plant, to all go into flowering, or at least 10 at a time. I pulled 11 wet grams from this plant, and there is probably another 5 grams left, but I thought I'd give that another day or so. I think 11 grams is pretty good, considering the plant had virtually no veg time. One last thing, the only reason there are seeds, is one plant went hermie on me :( I asked on the forum if anyone thought it was hermie, but everyone thought it was just a female pistil, and not a spore pod. Oh well, learning more every day.

11wet? its gonna be something less than 4gs dry. Yeah i think i told you you had a hermie but... Anyway, is that the hermie one the pic or just a polinated female? Coz if thats not the hermie, i think you harvested a little bit early. It really doesnt matter if it had no veg time, those buds look spindly rather than small. Immature. How long has it been flowering for? There is no mass on this bud, it had a few weeks still to go i think. Better luck next time :D

I agree it looks very immature if this wasnt the hermie. You want around 80% brown pistils then check the trichs which should be just around 10% amber.
Good luck with your next batch of clones.

Well, it was a test plant, I'm learning as I go, and that plant probably wasn't noted on the exact date of flowering. All plants in the flowering room are being labeled to show the exact flowering start date, so this won't happen again. It also was a small amount of impatience, but I'll do it right from now on. Thank you for your insight. Pollinated female is in the pic, the hermie plant's already been smoked.

it looks like it was gonna be pretty good though...:)
The colour of the pistilles has nothing to do with maturity. They dont tell you when the trichs are mature.
When they start going cloudy, your getting theyre. The more cloudy/amber the heavier the stone. Cloudy is a good time to harvest. All amber and you've left it too late. All clear and you'd wasted a good plant.

Hey lip. I don't have a scope to check out my tris (i am near harvest).
I know what I am looking for, but if I just went out and got the cheapest/best magnifying glass.....would I be able to see what i need to see?

Yes, you would. BUT, you'll have to hold it really still and really look hard. I'd suggest getting a jewlers loop or something like that.
Basically, if your going to buy something get something that's at least 30x.
I didnt know you were growing lol, i hope it turns out nice!

Here's a macro shot I took when I had everything downstairs. No tripod, and I'm not exactly "shaky", but I don't think I can hold a camera extremely still, and I get decent trichome pix. My cam will take a macro of something that I lay across the lens, and still focus, at least in the center of the shot. And thanks for the good luck, hope it works! I know nothing will be GREAT until I actually order some beans, but I'm still a chicken shit!

Yeah lip, I've got 7 Northern Lightx Blueberry from peakseeds.com.
I just harvested one today cause it was looking kind of sad. Not expecting too much out of it, it doesn't look 1/2 as good as my best plant.
I would buy the jewlers zoom, but I don't know where to get it. (besides ebay which I don't want to wait for since I need it now) What about If I went and bought one of those cheap kiddie microscopes?

Hey KickYo, is that a picture of a ready to harvest bud? Is that what a Tri needs to look like? Mine aren't looking quite that amber yet.
Also, Lip, in another thread you said something to the effect of "If you harvest when the trics are still fairly clear, you wasted a good plant".
Naturally I don't want to waste a plant. A book I have told me that a week 7 harvest will have a more cerebral high than a week 8.5 harvest with a stoney high. I don't need to harvest all plants at the same time....but I don't want to pick too early.
What do you think?

Well, i'll tell ya what.
Try a scattered harvest. Then you'll be able to choose what kind of high you like the most.
50% Cloudy 50% Clear will give you a very sativa like "up" high.
80% Cloudy 20% Amber will give you a sativa high with a bit of indica feeling to it. [Like a cross]
Basically you dont want to harvest before you've got at least 50% cloudy, because the clear trichomes arnt mature. As they start to go cloudy, that's the time to start harvesting.
As for the magnification. A cheap one will survice, as long as it's 30x mag you should be ok. You can get them pretty cheap too.
