Hello, is this where I call to get a job holding road signs?
Yes sir it is. Could you tell me a little about yourself?
Well, I am a resident stoner in the [insert home here] area. I enjoy smoking pot on job sites while grinding my stash into kief. In fact I promise to be so stoned the other people won't know I am there.
Will the drivers know you are there?
Most likely, i'll prolly be siting in the road crying, why do you ask?
Well, you seem....over qualified for the job. Good day to you.
Good day.

i got a summer job working for the state, but it was at the tollway. I got that job because i knew the leader of the democratic party for my county and a democratic governor had just been elected. Most of those guys who hold road signs don't even work for the state. Most road construction is contracted out, so I'd be contacting paving companies for that kinda job. You can also do internships at local and state level Departments of Transportation but they normally hire engineering students.
