I am in the process of picking seeds. This is not my first grow, but I am no expert! I am looking for a medicinal herb that will bring relief to symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks, other similar things of this nature. Any seed suggestions would be appreciated.
I will post as things progress!

I am going with an indica dominant Papaya from Nirvana. It is fairly quick and easy growing and has a decent yield.

I will post again when I have my cabinet set up and am ready to start my seeds:)

Well, I am unsure as to what we are going to plant again... A friend ordered several types... 20 White Widow, 10 White Rhino, 10 Hashberry, and about 30 or 40 other seeds...

I am STARTING with 25 plants. SCROG basically... But I am undecided now about height!!! I may still order the Papaya... I would like to germ at least 30-40 seeds and grow one strain in the cab at a time. Plus I want to keep a fem veg for clones just in case I like it...

I am going to start 5 plants in each bucket. I know some of you will bitch... I hope to end up with 3 in each bucket (avg) when I go to flower. I know some of you will still bitch! I grew one in each pot my first grow and always wished I had left 2 in each! This time I am going to OVERGROW and see what happens...

I am setting up my cabinet right now. I will veg them under 3 shoplights with 4ft plant bulbs, then go to my 430HPS for flower.

I think the cabinet needs more light, but we will see... I may add another 430HPS for this size box... I think I can afford one more by flower stage!

Allright. The seed decision has been made. Of all the seeds ordered, we have decided to do the White Rhino and the White Widow this grow. We are going to start 25 plants in 5 buckets. Hopefully we will end up with 10 to 15 females.

The Rhino will be in 2 buckets and the Widow in 3 buckets. This way I can raise the Rhino buckets if the Rhino plants are too much shorter.

I will be taking clones from this batch. Hopefully I can get a decent mother from each strain.

AND, MY SEEDS CAME IN!!! TODAY!!! THIS MORNING!!! And I had looked on the site where I bought them and they showed shipped on the 25th! So I wasnt expecting them for at least another week!!

I dropped them into MARKED rockwool cubes (1 inch) with some dro rocks under them and put them in the window to sprout.

We should have veggies soon!

I just put some water on the seeds again. Enough to keep them moist. I have never germinated AND grown, starting in rockwool cubes, but when I have done the paper towel method, sometimes the root freakin gets damaged during transplant TO the rockwool. So, I am starting them right in the cubes this time... I dont think they will care... They are weeds after all:)

I pretty much have the cab set up... I do want to PAINT the inside WHITE and give it time to air out the paint fumes before I put the plants in it though.

Anyways, starting with 30. We will see how many we end with... Hopefully at least 10 after I pull a veg mother from each group and eliminate males...

Damn, that brings up so many questions! I think I will put the Mothers in soil, but I do not know what light they need or how long they will live???

Well, I got all the buckets set up today. And worked on the cabinet storage location some more.

I put the rockwool cubes in the buckets--basically 6 or 7 in each bucket. I am just hand watering the seeds of course, and will continue to hand water for awhile, but I did check some of the seeds and it looks like about 1/2 have cracked open and the litte main root shoot...

I guess my thinking on this whole project is this: Once I get Mothers, it wont matter... And to get Mothers (never in flower state), I need to take clones from these plants and place the clones in the flower box. The ones that flower, I will know the plant it came from is female, and use it for a mother... We will see how that goes. MOTHERS is the key I think I am beginning to see... So I have a variety....

A friend came over last night and looked at the seeds. He covered them up with the rockwool with a paperclip. Now I cant see them... I did open one up a little and it had a small root... Anyways, I may do some work on them today...

The weather sucks. So, I may stay in today... If so, maybe I will work on the cabinet:)

All 10 White Rhino and all 20 White Widow have sprouted!

I have gently moved all seeds to the pointed/cracked end of the seed down with the little white root pointing down basically.

I have placed my plant/aquarium flouro over the bucketsfor sprouts and vegging.

I have taken a few pics and will eventually upload them when able!

Hopefully the cabinet will be in place tomorrow...

Well, I thought I had 30 seeds pop... Actually only 28 popped and then I broke one while helping it remove the seed hull.

So I am down to 27 good plants although I planted broken #28 down... We will see if it grows! It is greening up...

About 22 of those 27 look great and are putting off their first set of leaves...

About 5 are not doing great, but I think will take root...

Remember, I needs Moms and a crop to smoke! Hopefully 10 plants this batch!

Today I made a trip to my local hydro store and purchased my nutes and supplements, a clone box and then to Home Depot for white paint and 2 more plant bulbs...

I also worked on the cabinet this afternoon and am definitely getting close to ready for the pots to go in...

My nute regimen will be basically as follows:

Tap water with dechlorinator
PH Down to 5.8
GH 3 Part throughout as directed by GH.
GH Floralicious Bloom 1-1-1 during flower.
GH Kool Bloom 2-45-28 the last 3 weeks of flower.
GH Flora Kleen Flush as directed the final week or so...
My water will be premade and always sits overnight.

All plants that came up seem to be doing well. Only one had a problem with the stem falling over from a hydroton rock falling on it. All of them have their first set of actual leaves ranging from 1/4 long to 1 inch long...
I started putting the green nute on them yesterday at 1/2tsp per 1 gallon. This is their first intro to nutes...

I am using distilled water. It has been suggested I need to use calmag supplement. What will the calmag actually do for my plants? Or should I go back to my tap water? Any suggestions?

CalMag gives them calcium and magnesium, which are not present in distilled or RO water. Tap water usually (always? I'm not sure) has them in it.

Heh alright sorry but some people really do not do their homework at all. They are secondary nutrients, so in between micro & primary. Magnesium is needed for photosynthesis and activates enzymes needed for growth. Calcium strengthens cell walls, and controls transport and retention of other elements within the plant. CalMag might do other things, I don't know all what it provides.

And I was trying to remove the calcium is what I thought so the plant would not get stopped up with the white scale like what is left on the buckets...

Anyways, I am going to add it for sure...

Growth update: The babies are probably 3-4 inches tall. I have been raising the rock level though as they grow. They are almost all above the drip ring now. Soon I will start watering with the pumps and move them into the cab... Seems there is always a slow one...

Well, all the buckets are moved into the cab now. And the flouros are on them... 4-40watt plant/aquarium bulbs for now... (I think my next upgrade will be to the MH conversion bulb in my 430 watt HPS light.) All of the plants seem to be doing fine and are taking the weak nute solution okay...

I am still in the 1st gallon of water, so I will get the calmag before I start the 2nd gallon. I am just hand watering a couple times a day right now. I still need to hook up the air pumps before I start the drip rings. And the plants are still too delicate for much activity.

Well, after a trip to the store, where they had NO calmag, I have returned with a MH400 conversion bulb for my HPS ballast! Its like freakin Christmas for me!!! No more jacking with the 4 ft flouros! It is a purchase I was wanting to make, and they had it in stock today... And they gave me a discount... ( I always ask for a better price and they usually make me a deal)

Anyways, the cab looks good and is sealed up pretty well. The inside is painted white. The outer flap still needs some work, but it is sufficient for the time being...

All seems well with the puppies. Hopefully some turn out female! I have set the timer to 16/8. I dont like the 24/7... And the last plant I saw under 24/7 was a male...

After looking at the calmag, I have decided to go with my tap water and the dechlorinator, then nutes, then ph to 5.8... Im not going to mess with the distilled water, etc...

The MH400 light is so much easier than jacking with the flouros. I have it on the timer now. I have also moved everything into the cab and done 95% of the sealing for light leaks... All the pumps are ready to be hooked up, I am just waiting on the babies to grow a little stronger. I raised the nutes to 1/1/1 ratios on the GH3 part as well.

All looks good at this time... I am "slow growing" as my current place is not the best... Hopefully I will find a babysitter soon!

I have tried the nutes a few different ways on seedlings, etc... And from my personal experience, as soon as you have a real leaf, 1/4 inch long or so, (not those first 2 from the inside of the seed), the plants seem to like the nutes. I do start them at 1/4 tsp per gallon (very, very weak solution) of only the green for 1 week or so, then bump them to 1/2 tsp the 2nd week, then 1/1/1 tsp of each green, red, brn from then on until I start flower basically...

I currently have software issues with my camera... You can see the basic cab I am using, light fixture, etc... in my other threads. It has been painted white inside and now has 5 buckets under MH400 veg and 430 HPS flower.
For now, I just have the exhaust fan pulling air through the glass globe around the bulb. It is vented out the top... Depending on temp issues, another exhaust may be added this grow at the top.

Also, as soon as the plants get a little higher, I may put a small fan on them. For now, they are just at or above the hydroton rocks. I am trying to find a small fan to oscillate on the bulb surround, then on the plants, then up, then down... Instead of side to side. I just am looking at different possibilities.

Ok... I know none of you give a shit about my grow. But to be honest, I really dont care. They are MY babies!

And they look sooo sweet and so delicate... minimal stretching (if any) from the flouros at start. Now I have the 400MH about 20 inches above the plants. They seem to LOVE it! And the leaf growth has been exciting to see over the last few days. I have several 3 point leaves and a couple 4s even.

Probably 2 weeks until I switch to flower! MMMMMMM

Well, here are a couple pics, however, they are from my last grow.

This IS however the cabinet I am using. And the light hood...

Modifications I have made to the cab are as follows: I added almost 1 foot to the top so my cab is almost 7ft 6 inches tall. I removed the silver stuff and painted the inside white. I quit using the hardboard and went to cardboard only for side walls. (The lower walls are still hardboard). NOTHING is glued and the cab can be disassembled in less than 5 minutes including the light being removed and boxed up... NOT including plants which can vary depending on size...

Modifications from my last grow to my most current: I have added 3 more of the dro buckets. 5 buckets total. I am growing several plants in each bucket, but expect to have to pull several for males, etc... HOWEVER, even if every one is female, I am not going to move any of them... Only males...
Then as the fems come up, I will SCROG them basically...

I know this is not the ideal method, but what is done is done...

Clones is the way to go... I hope I get a couple Mommies for a veg room!

nice cab but doing multiple plants isnt always key, hydro can grow some huge plants so even if only 2 were female just veg them another few weeks and watch the monsters they become, look into LST it may be what yourr looking for and easier.

These buckets are very large for 1 plant. On my last grow, and the plants were about 6ft tall including the bucket, I really wished I had planted more seeds. I feel as though I have the LIGHT, I might as well use it. And LSTing is really what I am doing, to a minimal amount... But back to the buckets...When I chopped the last batch, the roots in the bucket are not that much. There is plenty of room for 3 plants in each of those buckets I believe. Of course there could be many issues with multiple plants in one bucket as well... Hopefully I will be doing more clones in the future...but these seeds...who knows how many fems I will get...

I checked the plants yesterday. All looked well. They are waiting on water... I still have not started the drip rings... So still hand watering once a day. I have moved them to a location I dont have to be concerned about... Although Im growing for personal use only, I still dont want them at my place. They have really just started "veg stage", no longer seedlings:)

Hi, High. :D I finally got around to reading your log. I checked out your last one, as short as it was. Looks like good stuff man. Looks like you started with a PLAN to scrog then changed your mind? You said you're gonna scrog this time, too. I'd like to see how your setup looks. Any luck with your camera's software issues? Hope you can get some up soon.

All in all, it sounds like you got a pretty good handle on what you're doing here. I'd have to agree that multiple plants in one pot is not such a great idea, but if you can keep the roots from killing each other, then I guess you'll be ok...?

I usually include like the strain and stage of growth in the title of the message, if I can. Ya know what I mean, Bub? It may be repetative, but being a stoner and remembering everybody's grow is not going to happen here.

Went and saw my babies again this morning. Switched the bulb out while I was there from my MH 400 conversion bulb to my 430 HPS... and the timer to 12/12.

Plants are about 2 months old in veg, but were hand watered minimally for the first 7weeks. The drip rings have only been on for about a week now...

Now, lets hope for good female to male ratios! I need Bud and Moms!

Once I have eliminated males and the females get about 6 inches taller, I will move the screen up and LST the plants or SOG... The screen is currently just hanging in the cab...

I pulled 5 males and identified 10 females. The twin is a female 4 sure:)

I have ..I think... 12 unidentifiable yet...

I may reveg as soon as I identify or eliminate the remaining. Undecided... The females are mostly the smaller plants. They could use more veg time I think.

I do however have enough lower, pre-flower branches with enough mass for cloning. I have got my cloning stuff out. I will clone from the twin, which is White Rhino, the other large female White Rhino and 1 large female White Widow. From the clones, I will take Mothers...

The White Widow strain, male vs male and female vs female, seems to be much smaller than the White Rhino strain.

It's really hard to guess from the preflowers there but my best guess is that of the pics in post #51: 1 is female, 3,5 are male and 2,4 I have no idea.

They have grown a lot though. They look happy! :jointsmile:

Well... I have done some work... My scrog is ready and I have a second wire scrog for a little higher as the plants get taller. Hopefully all will come out as expected and we will have a decent sea of green! I have butchered the babies for ease of getting to the pots for watering, etc... And clones... Dont worry-They grow like weeds!!! I just hope there is not too much shock and the babies dont hermie on me! These should all be fems...

Well, I yanked another male today. And I think I have a few more possibly...

I cant freakin tell which are which on many of them... And I think I have one hermie... Which would make 2 hermies total.

But, the preflowers, some look like only 1 hair is GOING to come out, but they are still narrow and pointy like the female preflowers...

Damn-We had a major scare!

My partner on these called me last night and a police car had been sitting in front of his house for about 10 minutes. So he was goin nuts! Cause the babies were at his place, in his garage. So anyways, I had to move the whole setup last night. I fear he has been chatting too much...

BUT! Alas, my planning did pay off!!! None of my cab is glued or anything, so we just broke it down, nothing is larger than 2ft x 4ft, and loaded it in his Expedition, with the buckets and everything, and I put a light blanket over the plants to keep light off them and to minimize any visibility, and we drove them out to my brothers house in La... Pain in the ass, but they are splitting his split and I still get the same! Anyways, no more pics... He says wont email them to me. But he lives on a huge lot and actually has a nice shed for them. And it has hay in the top so he thinks no overhead would pick up much from the bulb... Plus he says he would go higher on the next split if I build another cab and give him ALL females...

I imagine the thread will die since I wont be posting on it. I am just gonna try to forget about them and let bro handle it. I need to be doing other things anyways!

Good luck with the grow though. I'm planning on the plants showing themselves by the eighth week. If I don't have a strong fem show by then I may even give them all an extra week or so. I plan on keeping a good mom for clones and I chose not to shock her with 12/12. The rest will sex out during 12/12 then and I'll move her to Mom's Place.

I also aint no fool. I told yall how I did the last harvest on split... I just show up and cut. No prewarning... Keeps em from pinchin!!! I tell them I am coming like the next Saturday, then I show up 6 days early... THey havent even snuck buds yet!!!

Well, I finally harvested these babies. I have some pics I may post later. The batteries are dead in the camera as usual!

Anyways, not the grow I had hoped for. I think the plants had too much nutes. And the PH dropped to like 4.5 a couple times. At that point, they stated putting off 1 fan leaves. And somehow I got some pollen dammit. Seed quantity unknown at this point, but I have some full grown seeds. I think one plant hermied on me due to the stress.

BUT! I am not mad or unhappy. I still got TONS of smoke off of them. And I did Flora Kleen and for the last 3 days before harvest... My pre-final cut buds get me high... I am sure the mature ones will too! :)

What did I learn from this grow? 1. Don't screen hydro buckets where you cant get to the inner bottoms. 2. Put your buckets in a single row. The back row is difficult to manage. 3. 430watts HPS is good for 3ft by 3ft in my opinion. NOT any larger than that. 4. Males SUCK ASS!!! 5. Get a PH/PPM Meter! (Thats my next purchase BEFORE I do another grow ;) )

Well, good luck to all you growers out there. I'm afraid my time as a grower has come to an end. Possibly one day in the future I will again give it a try. I just dont have the available time I would feel necessary to dedicate to growing right now. And the laws are strict and the punishments harsh. I just cant put my family in jeapordy for some buds I can buy on the corner... I will keep my grow stuff at my brothers where it is safest. I have already cleaned it all up with bleach water and boxed everything up. I have gotten rid of all the harvest junk and the buds are drying at my partners house. I took pics and showed them to him so he cant cheat me off my 1/2. He shouldnt cause he has plenty of his own...

Anyways, growing was a great experience. To see a seed go from germ to bud to actual SMOKE was a learning experience to say the least. I hope one day the laws lighten up! I would love to grow some personal year round!!!

I will be around osometimes. Just as a smoker now, not a grower...
