Parents who never sleep

Like many teenagers whose parents disapprove of pot smoking, my only opportunity to smoke is while my parents are on vacation, or while asleep.

So when I am having a bad day and I decide, at some point during the day, that I want to toke up at night and relax to some downloaded tv shows and pretzels, I expect to be able to.

Unfortunately, I am cursed with the parents that never sleep. My mother is a normal human being who gets tired around 10PM, but my dad's TV addiction has led me to curse the Major League Playoffs, season premieres of 24, and the Golden Globe awards. I try to convince him that these shows are stupid, or that he can tape them and watch them the next morning, or that staying up too late is bad for you (even though they know I always stay up too late), but it never works.

Does anyone else have a problem like this?

Haha that sucks. If i were you id look into using a vaporizer. Itll get you blazed and leave virtually no smell. I dont have one but ive used them with friends in hotels and they work like a charm.

Hmm, I don't smoke often enough to spend the many $$$ on a vapourizer. I did make a lightbulb vape, but that is so that my neighbors can't smell it. I have no idea if it makes a smell on its own, though. If I smoke a joint, I dont smell any pot smoke, so I sure as hell dont smell any when I use my light bulb.

Haha dude I've got the same problem. Some nights my parents will head to bed and be asleep around 9 or 10 but then some nights they just sit out in the living room watching Law & Order or some other stupid show till fucking midnight... I hate those nights. When I'm really feenin' to toke up I just pack a fat bowl into the chillum and try to one-hit it all real quick out the window.

My moms always awake and my dad wakes up in the middle of the night always, but I still smoke in the bathroom all the time.

Dude I used to do that for months until they told me they could smell it all along.... then they sent me to rehab.

Haha really? That sucks. My parents have sort of caught me before. My dad happened to come into my room about one minute after I had finished (not because he could smell it but because he randomly decided he was gonna come in to my room at 11 pm and ask to borrow a movie) so he tripped out and told me I had better not be smoking. Since then I've been a lot more careful... making sure I jam a towel in the space between the bottom of the door and the floor and I set up a small desk fan so that it is blowing air out of my room to the outside and then turning on my tv. That was about a year ago and haven't had any problems since :smokin:

man that would suck, my parents are cool with me smoking and they pretty much know I'm stoned all the time, its funny because they can tell when I'm sober when with most kids it would be " are you stoned?" not "are you sober?"

nope, even before i told my grandma i smoked, she couldn't smell and my grandpa wouldn't know the smell... and i had my own room and they respected my privacy... i use to always toke up in my room...

however, I got tired of this shit and decided I would toke when my mom is asleep, and well, as for my dad, I don't care lol.

the bad thing is that my room is just beside the bathroom, so I gotta watch that. However, he doesnt come up often in my room, and if he does, I lock the door and say I'm changing clothes.
He can't smell that much so that's a good point for me. I never get caught by him, I just toke up fast and spray alot and five minutes later it's all gone. Then I enjoy my high :D .

When ever I wanna toke I just tell my dad I'm going to 7-11. I smoke a bowl on the way there and get something to eat while I'm there then walk home and by then any smell is gone. It just depends on how late your allowed out.

we had a long talk about the negative/positive things, i told her how it helped me with my depression, my insomnia, and my back pain.. she told me her only real problem with it is it's illegal... me and my grandma have always had a very close relationship, and she has always granted me immunity from things if i told/asked her about them... i mean not like i could go up to her and just tell her i did whatever and all of the sudden it's ok to do.. she may still say she doesn't want me doing said thing, but i wouldn't get punished or yelled at if i was ready to have an adult-ish conversation about it and over go all the facts relating to said thing.

she even considered letting me grow, for a few reasons, money, danger of bieng caught buying ect.. but in the end she decided it wasn't a good idea because if i was caught not only could i be locked up, but both her and my grandpa could as well... i repsected that decision till after i was 18... at 18 i attempted a very small grow in my attic (didn't go well, and they found it but she didn't like freak out on me or anything) but i was ready to tell the cops (if i was caught, which at the time would've been damn near impossible) they knew nothing about it, and i'll plead guilty to all counts as long as they granted my grandparents immunity... once you become 18, and you get caught doing something illegal, police tend to not really hold your parents responsible.. unless they admit or are some way caught to being involved in said act... which is why i waited til i was 18, before 18, your parents are still responsible for what you do.

im lucky enough to have a bathroom connected to my room so smoking in here has never been a problem for me especially since they are fucking oblivious about some shit like when i convinced them to buy me a scale for a "chemistry project" and got them to buy me inscense and candles n shit and i have mushrooms litering my room, then again i have been caught more than half a dozen times and had 4 pipes found in my room.. haha whatever man its all good.:jointsmile:

You could try taking a "Rastafarian Shower"...

Turn on your shower, smoke out of a bong or a pipe, and take a shower. That should get rid of the smell. I used to smoke like this all the time.

oh i should add, it didn't go well cuz the plants were all like stunted or something lol... i think i had them for a month and they were still only as big as like a week old plant, had four leaves and nothing more...

Getting caught smoking wherever you are or whoever your trying to hide it from is all about the mindset you have. Besides smell, the number one thing that can tip anyone off is suspicious behavior.

Before I went to college I was so comfortable being high around my parents that on nights I was to tired to go out I would suggest we rent and watch a movie together and when they were downstairs id take a quick toke out the vap or a rasta shower. Afterwards, I would just enjoy the film making my parents feel good as they were spending quality time with their son, and we would have great conversations and laugh it up.

Also, smoking covertly isnt really as hard as it sounds in most cases. As long as you have some Link to the outside or a shower thats not int he main thoroughfare of the house, you should be able to step on the porch or take a rasta shower or blow out of a window. Smoke out of a piece where you can cap your bowls.

A great thing to do is to desensitize them to suspicious activities. I made it a habit to burn incense behind closed doors especially when I WASNT smoking then come out of my room and chill for a while, just so when I did want to chief up with some Marley over the surround sound and some 'cense in the burner it was nothing new or suspicious.

I know I sound like I was a deceptive teenager, but me and my parents were pretty open about marijuana and although they confiscated pieces they found they werent very flustered about the occasional party toke. I just felt it my duty not to complicate their stressful lives by getting busted with illegal substances in the home they pay mortgage for.

Also, using strong deodarent sprays is sometimes stinkier than bud itself...Ive made that mistake enough times to learn my lesson.

Take latenight showers frequently, and especially when your walking around your house blitzed out of your skull dont be afraid to make noise while you go about your activities. Whats more suspicious: a teenager banging around the cupboards looking for a latenight snack then settling down to watch a movie or a teenager sneaking around the kitchen then retreating up to his room while being absolutly silent.

my parents are stay up pretty late usually... on weekdays they are up till about 12-1am, and on weekends they are up till 2-3!!! (pisses me the fuck off). whenever i see that its pitch black while looking up the stairs, then i know its clear. if any of em decide to wake up, ill hear footsteps and jump into bed.

All through my teen years I have smoked in my room, hourly, I take a toke out of my bong, making sure that no smoke escapes(and if it does, o well) then I blow all the smoke out the window, my mom doesnt care at all and would rather I smoked then drank, and my dad doesnt care but gives me a hard time when he knows im baked, like asking weird question and asking if im feeling alright and shit.

Ive been caught probably im gunna say 25-30 times and they have never searched me or taken anything away from me, im pretty damn lucky. I find school easy and all my marks are good so they arent to concerned, but they said if they ever catch wind of any other drug use im out of the house, so im stickin to my mary jane.

ive never had this kind of problem. when i want to smoke i step outside the door in my room to the backyard and toke it up fat

or ill go into my studio and toke

ive been cought more times than i remember so my parents outright told me they dont care, just gotta keep the grades up. thats understandable to me so im fine with it

oh yeah i forgot to say that i smoke when they are awake too, i just put in some visine before hand tho haha. however, during the day i dont get completley baked out of my tree, thats what the night is for. at around 2 am anyone that comes down to my room will be hit by a think white wall of smoke haha!
