preventing excess bowl smoke

well since I've been smoking I've either smoked out of blunts or joints, or usually my TINY crappy metal bowl. I would have to put one hit in at a time to prevent the entire bowl from burning up excess smoke, or stamp it out, it was a really bad pipe, but all my dad had. Today I bought myself a very nice glass bowl with a carb and I heard the carb could be used to stop the bowl form burning to much smoke. You take your finger off when your done taking your hit and it will just stop burning? I don't have any weed to try it with at the moment but I was just wondering, because it's quite an annoyance to load a new bowl every hit when you're high.

Hmm I worry about smell, and I do hate wasting weed (still smokin home with the rents eh..) Anyone no any tips to get it to burn minimally and not have to pack every hit?

just lie your lighter down on top of the bowl so it cuts off the oxygen from it

Everytime you take a hit put a quarter or a bigger coin than the bowl so it doesnt get stuck or fall in and this will cut off oxygen to the flame and wont burn up your buds so fast.

yeah just use the metal part of your lighter to cover the bowl at the end of your hit if you wanna conserve it and recover the carb or else air will come from there

you mean you just load hits at a time? just pack a full bowl. or half depending on how much you wanna smoke.

hah I would love to just pack a bowl full, but half the time it smokes when I'm done and living with extremely strict parents smell is not an option. maybe after a little experimentation I'll get it down and be able to just relax and smoke my bowl.
