I have both and I'm going to flower very soon, so I need to take clones now. I've had NL and love it, but have no clue if I've ever had Afghani. So hit me with every bit of info and opinions you have, I'll take links too. Thanks a bunch.

Don't know about Afghani, but damn do I love a nice NL too. I usually like sativas better but NL ranks one of my favourite strains I've tried. It's fucking perfect... well it's really good anyway.

Afghani is really a good solid plant.
If you can find Afghani Dream... WOW is all I can say.
But Afghans are easy to clone and I love the real classic smooth hashy pot taste.
I guess I'm the only one who voted for the classics, lol!

The only thing I regret about my trips to Amsterdam is that I didn't try as many strains as I could have. Ah well, hindsight... and I'll be damned if I don't return again one day.

I have grown both NL and Afg .... now me .... I absolutely love smoke with sweet taste and smell ... and that is the great lady NL .... Afg had good potency like NL, but it just didn't meet my standard ... which is sweet taste, sweet smell or nice smell, and great potency.
When I phased out the strains I really didn't love ... the Afg left and the NL stayed .... just my :twocents:

Well I p-lan on having a bonsei mom of both, but I'm leaning toward the Northers. While the Afghanis are quick growers mine seem to be a little stretched for my liking. The Northers are stout bushy and a little more fun to train and play with. So I will keep for strains going but I think the harvest will help weigh up the final decision.

NL is a classic but Afghani can take anything. Higher PPM of nutes, bigger range of temperatures, all kinds of stress, and more resistent to insects/mold in my experience. But more of a knock you on your ass high instead of the lighter NL. The smell will also be much more of an issue then NL, which has barely any odor. PS. The Afghani should be the tight bushy one and the NL should be lankier.

Wish I had a pic cause the afghanis are lanky with large narrow blades, andthe northerns are short and bushy with dark wide lush blades, unless I have them mixed up.

My advice and what I'd do if I were in your shoes is flower both! You have a nice choice of opposites so why not have a stash for almost any need? I would never allow my stash to be without at least several varieties/strains to chose from, and it also helps prevent tolerance build-up. The Afghan is the base strain for blueberry and many other indica hybrids and should finish a couple weeks sooner than the NL too, if that helps with your decision.
Good luck with the flowering and hope to see some pics!

Here's a nice indica ... not Afghani or NL but still.
International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - Hunza... landrace 100% indica from Pakistan. (http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=45542)

And the winner of the poll is.....
Drum roll please.....
Both!
I figure I'll keep 2 of each as mothers for now till I harvest. Then I will keep the one mother of the strain I'm not using and 2 of the ones that I am using. Those afghanis are tall compared to the northerns so I think maybe I'll alternate strains.
But for sure I'm keeping both alive.

I wanted to add this in.
After experimenting with cloning I've noticed that with my method the Northerns take 1 week to start roots, tha Afghanis take 2 weeks.

I donâ??t want to insult you but from everything you are saying in your post, Iâ??m really wondering if by accident you might have confused one from the other ?
Afghaniâ??s are easy to clone, have big large leaves, are short and bushy with wide lush blades â?¦.
Iâ??m 99 % sure you have them mixed up and you will know for sure when you flower. The Afghani have almost no crystal on the fruit (a lot of resin). Afghani also have an annoying large ration of leaves VS buds so donâ??t be afraid to remove some to make sure all your fruits are exposed to the light ! Also, the Afghani will give you a couch lock high â?¦ Believe me, you will be fucked up (my favorite plant to smoke as it taste like hash!!)
The NL is pretty good but does not come close if you are looking for couch lock â?¦. If you desire a more all around buzz, the NL will probably be the one you will pick.
Good luck my friend,

I've asked my buddy again and again. He's helping a major grow op that supplies over half our city. I've sent him back to his buddies to make sure he has it right. Unless our city's main supplier has it backwards they are dead set that I have it right. Take a look at my pics and let me know what you think, I'll go back and ask again if I have too. Or maybe you can show me pics of one or the other in veg because the only ones I an find are in flower and mainly bud. The other thing is that the Afghani are supposed to mature a little faster(30 day preflowers) and they followed that pattern.

I'm so confused now. I'm sending him back to his buddies because from pictures I've found sometimes he's right and other times everyoe else is. So at this point I think I'll make a new thread and set up a poll asking what you guys think because you guys know alot. I guess it really doesn't matter but if I do spread the wealth after I harvest I want to tell them what it is. I just wanted to say thanks for all your visits guys, and this poll is still acurate because I'm the only one who doesn't know what she's talking about. About all I know at this point is what NL smokes like but for some reason I kinda doubt that because if the growers are telling buddy the wrong thing then I have a city to re-educate, then again he may me the only one confused(hopefully) thus confusing me.

That is exactly what I was thinking too after reading about their attributes. It sure sounds to me like they were labeled backwards.

Here's a link to my thread about whether I have them backwards or not. I would really appreciate you all coming by and checking it out and voting on the poll since you are ther people who would know best. If it is backwards I want to fix it.
I will say Ga Grow and I have been brainstorming. Casey my ?northern? smells like fain spruce pine, and Jaz my ?Afghani? smells like fresh moist leaves like when I worked in a greenhouse with my mom.
