this is something that bothers me every day. and i just kind of need to get it off my chest.

I know a lot of people don't agree with Bush or the war in Iraq, god knows I don't agree with it or with Bush. But one thing is for sure, even if you don't support the war, support the troops. Its not their fault that they're stuck in Iraq away from their families, they're just doing their jobs. granted they're not exactly fighting for our freedom at the moment, but when shit hits the fan, who's there to tell you it'll be ok. hate on the politicians and the policy makers, not the average ground pounder.

in my opinion anyone who disrespects the US military average joe soldier deserves to be drug out into the street and shot.

I don't believe in any form of military.

If there were no armies there could be no war.

I think the same in term of armies, not including what the war is about, about my countries army and other countries.

but there is a military, and there will always be war.....do you at least support the people like you and me that are in the military?

Let me put it this way.

If you are in the military so that you can go to college, or you really need the job, then great for you, I have no problems.

If you are in the military when you can get a job that will help the country in some way other than status, or because you are "loyal" to the country, then I don't see the point.

Agree 100%! You may not agree with the policys but at least support the men/women that serve.

Have a good one!

I respect the military, I don't have the strength of will to go out and do what they do. I just don't respect the act of military.

do you know how many people have died wearing that symbol with honor because they are loyal to their country? and you choose to use it as an avatar because you think its ironic ?!?!? that my friend is disgraceful.

Well, it is ironic, to my point of view. you could take many symbols that way.

to me it is extremely disrespectful.

i have some friends in the military that used to toke with me, and i just see joining as a personal descision. the wars are the politicians; the soldiers are just pawns to them. if rich cigar-sucking assholes that sit above the money and behind the ballot have a dispute, they should duke it out man to man instead of sending out thousands to die for a "just cause"

But i agree, i support the troops.

Then the presidential election would be more on the order of a U.F.C. match. The best fighter wins the election. Good idea though. I always thought if you could get them all in the same room with a couple good bags of weed.......more mellow discussions.:rasta:

Not a joke, I don't find it that funny, I just put it up as a reminder that everything has two sides, even something respected by many.

I don't know what it even is. I dont care. It is a symbol, so it means nothing.
As for the soldiers and Marines (Devil Dogs) ooooh-rah in the war. I support them 100%. Most are just trying to make a better way for themselves or thier family. Some are in for the thrill and adventure. There are many reasons men and women join.
The war is bullshit, but now there has to be something done. Withdrawal is a very poor decision at this point.
